KO cup final dates Witches v Tigers 2023
Arch Stanton replied to Badge's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
None of Jenkins, Rowe or Kemp will be in a 1-7 come play off time though as their clubs season will be over Another daft rule though who comes up with these. Sheffield can take their pick from a number one not in the play offs to cover their injured number one, but we can’t use one of those clubs’ rising stars to cover our injured rising star. Why? Would love to hear the official reason for this rule. -

So Sheffield bring a 6 point lead to Foxhall. Would have taken that at the start. Fricke with a stinker and a bit of an off night for Emil and Doyle too. Only two wins between the three of them all night long! Doubt you’d see that again. King top man for Witches tonight. Can consider himself a bit unlucky not to get heat 15. -
Ah the old reverse psychology stuff, marvellous. If we do happen to win it, it’s only because of everyone else’s misfortune too. Could smell this coming a mile off but it’s still happened a tad earlier than I expected!

Yep

I know cost has been mentioned but it’s crazy in a sport as dangerous as this that not everyone is tested before every meeting. It’s one thing testing in a sport like athletics where nobody can possibly get hurt, but in a sport where riders can and sometimes are, paralysed or killed it beggars belief that there’s not compulsory testing for every rider before meetings.

Always a possibility but on 4.81 from being at reserve all year to being in the main body if he was here at Ipswich, I’m not sure personally. I’d give him a miss. Hard to disagree with any of that.
-
Quite right. Highly rated but he’s been awful which just shows you it’s always a risk. To be fair to him though he hasn’t been here long so a bit harsh to judge.
-
38.7 currently so under this years rules, your team is doable and just shows you can build a very good side by retaining the top two. You could also replace Douglas with Ellis giving an extra point, move Thompson to rising star and then find a 4 pointer at 6. There’ll be plenty of options if they go the top heavy route again.
-
I wouldn’t gamble on Riss again Gavan, even on his lower average. Let someone else take the risk this time. Adam Ellis has dropped a point off his average after a bad year but as far as I’m aware, it’s not health related? They’re the type of riders to go for. 5.71 average

Agree of course, but Louis has to take responsibility for not addressing those issues. With all due respect to Joe Thompson, it was a very strange choice when other better riders were sitting there waiting to be picked, although it’s difficult to be too critical here because we don’t know that one of or both or Kemp and Rowe were asked and said no for whatever reason. The biggest and strangest decision (or lack of) is the Riss one. SHOULD have been replaced very early on which even he accepts he expected, but for some reason only Louis knows, he wasn’t.

Not really, it also guarantees entertainment. They’ve been an absolute joy to watch all season long the pair of them. -

Seems to be getting better as he’s getting older! Always doubtful that R Lambert would commit to a full season but if Lynn could get both Lamberts signed up for next year that would be a huge start to team building. -
He’s been like that since he attempted to come back. Still sharp out the gate, but then it’s a desperate bid to hold on for 4 laps resulting in getting passed by most. So slow and tentative. Isn’t really a surprise reading his latest comments that he still isn’t right, and he doesn’t expect to get back to where he was before the season is completed. Fair play for his honesty, but again that begs the question why the promotion have failed to address this ongoing situation all season long as they simply must have known his situation also? It’s the sole reason we’re not in the play offs we’ve carried a 6 point man all year and we’ve lost tight meetings because of it. On Rew, think you can pencil him in for next year going by Hawkins’ comments.. I thought the effort Keynan put in at reserve was superb and if he can put everything like that into every meeting then next season you will really see him push on“

Kings Lynn v Ipswich 4th September
Arch Stanton replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
“Another win at Lynn and I’m really proud of the boys and how determined they were. They stuck with it throughout the meeting and Lynn tried everything to get the better of us tonight and tried every trick in the book really as they have done all season, but we managed to get another win and I’m super proud of how they’ve been over the last six weeks or so. That is seven wins in eight to finish the league season and we look forward to the cup final next week now. “We should have been here two weeks ago and got the win already, but we were made to wait. It was a dubious decision with Breum who was withdrawn tonight, we all know what is going on, but nothing is going to be done about it. We had to stick with it, and we did, and we got the win. “The heat leaders did great and to be fair everyone scored and contributed. I thought the effort Keynan put in at reserve was superb and if he can put everything like that into every meeting then next season you will really see him push on and it could well be key for the cup final. “It looks like we might miss out on the play-offs by one or two points, and I definitely think that home defeat to Belle Vue was really costly, and we thought that at the time. “So many Ipswich fans here again and you know Ipswich are in town because wherever we go, we have massive crowds, and we have a tremendous following. I went to see quite a few of them after the meeting and thanked them and for anyone I didn’t see thank you for coming, we all appreciate it and I’m glad we sent you home happy.” https://ipswichwitches.co/raceday-report-kings-lynn-44-46-ipswich-sports-insure-premiership-r2-a/ -
Neither us or Leicester would beat Belle Vue in the semis so it matters little.

Riss has been the killer. Rew been disappointing but could have carried him to an extent, but carrying two is a step too far. -

when you posted he was on paid 9 from 4 unless updates is wrong? I was following this thread and the updates at the same time. When you posted, Rew was on paid 9. It really doesn’t matter don’t get all stressy about it lol. -

Yep. Not sure it matters anyway, we’d get duffed up be Belle Vue in the semis. You can’t carry a rider through illness and expect to win a title. Riss showed a few glimpses of doing better but has gone backwards again last few weeks and is really struggling again. Failure to replace him has/will cost us unfortunately. -

Those quotes are from Hawkins, not Louis. And Hawkins is right by the way! -
https://ipswichwitches.co/raceday-preview-kings-lynn-sports-insure-premiership-r2-a/ Looking at those line ups, simply HAS to be an away win. Will then all depend on whether Leicester can win at either Wolves or Peterborough.
