Those quotes are from Hawkins, not Louis. And Hawkins is right by the way! -
https://ipswichwitches.co/raceday-preview-kings-lynn-sports-insure-premiership-r2-a/ Looking at those line ups, simply HAS to be an away win. Will then all depend on whether Leicester can win at either Wolves or Peterborough.

Sorry to see Wolves’ plight and I echo others in keeping fingers crossed they can come back in 2025. But balls to wanting them to win it! (Unless we don’t make it then I’ll be rooting for them).

Leicester lions 2023 (PREMIERSHIP)
Arch Stanton replied to PhilTheAce's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
We only lost at Belle Vue by 8 last time out with an out of sorts Riss scoring 1 from 4 rides and Doyle scoring 5 from effectively two rides. The problems with Riss will likely remain but you’d expect a much better return from Doyle. Again though every meeting is different, you could ride the same meeting at the same track every day for one week and get a different result every time. Belle Vue will start as obvious favourites whoever they face simply because they have a very good team who all go brilliantly around their home track. They’re not clear leaders for nothing. -
But one it seems they had to make. “Commitment issues” clearly aimed at Ellis, and going by his last outing I guess they had no choice but to make changes.

Leicester v King's Lynn 28/08/23
Arch Stanton replied to tellboy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
We did, but even with our weak bottom end I’m not sure we’ll see paid 28 from the Lynn reserves again! They scored paid 11 between them when we won comfortably there a couple of weeks ago, even having the luxury of not putting Emil in heat 15 either. Every meeting is different though and it all depends on what the sides look like regarding personnel on the day. -
Leicester v King's Lynn 28/08/23

As others have said, this was always down as a 3 point home win and changes nothing. Leicester won’t be winning at Wolves or the new Peterborough side, so they’re now relying on Lynn to do them a favour and beat Ipswich at home. -
Then use R/R. Or slacken the rules slightly and allow two team changes whilst replacing an injured rider for a little more wiggle room. Even last years rules were better in not allowing changes once the league was under way except for a brief mid season window. Nothing will ever be perfect but it’s better than an end of season transfer frenzy just before the play offs by desperate promoters trying everything they can to gain some sort of advantage. Surely you want your team in the play offs to at least look something like the side that’s spent all year getting you there?

You as well? Think loads of us bombarded him with tweets the last few weeks telling him to sign him up

It’s not that deep, Steve. Nevermind.

Because you’re one of those involved in the Hokey Cokey?

Kerr can only replace King upwards.

No.

Said this many times, the pre-season prediction threads are utterly pointless. The league winners will be who can be the most crafty and wheel and deal the best moves just before the play offs. They have to stop this sort of stuff from happening it’s a nonsense. If you’ve ballsed up your winter team building TOUGH. You’ve had 6 months to get it right ffs. Only changes that should be permitted during the season is to replace an injured rider.

If they did he’d call that bonkers too and probably did. He doesn’t get blinded by club loyalty or bias. -
Witches v Lions 24th August

Come on the majority of us were thinking exactly the same! Just a few were brave enough to say it on here. Easy now to say they were talking guff now Sheffield have won but prior to the meeting I’d guess most were a little suspicious of the outcome and yes, we were wrong. Can hardly blame people for thinking that way when you have a sport here where promotors are telling fibs about broken pit gates to get meetings postponed, Postponing meetings whilst working on a new signing, riders going conveniently missing when they were a match away from attaining a higher average (Jakobson)..(Lynn again who’d have thunk it!!), riders dropping behind team mates to reduce their averages, teams making changes that will be legal but ultimately be over the limit before their next meeting has even taken place, clubs getting their water hoses out to flood the track to get meetings postponed etc etc etc you can go on and on and on. It’s a complete circus ran by con men. You really can’t blame people for being suspicious. -
Riss? He’s painfully slow at Speedway at the moment. His reflexes from the tapes are as sharp as ever, but then from the first bend on it’s a desperate battle to hold position.
