  1. Indeed. Can’t remember which one it was but he made a great first couple of bends and was about to fly past everyone down the back straight, but kind of got stuffed by Doyle which ended his race. Plenty of pace though. Looks quicker than last season already that’s for sure.
  2. Thought both Rew and Jenkins were better than their scores suggest. Jenkins looked quicker here than he has at Foxhall this season so signs of improvement there, and Rew was unlucky in a couple of his non scoring races. Other than that, very solid through the team.

  4. https://x.com/stephen_waller/status/1774193465384964249?s=61&t=WGGG_bqEEeOH78cfmD9Reg Hope Emil is properly fit. Two nasty looking spills on Thursday.
  5. Good point. Was superb there last season was Dan, which kickstarted our late play off charge.
  6. In theory it should only be getting Rew one extra ride, probably for Jenkins in heat 8. With the strength of the other top 5 members it’s hard to see Rew replacing any of them, even if one of them isn’t having the best of nights. We’ll see.
  7. Rew and Dan Thompson should be out scoring Kemp and Joe here so that should keep things close. Difficult for Jenkins at two who has started the season very slowly, so anything from there will be a bonus. Leicester have riders that go well at Foxhall too so think it’ll be very close on aggregate.
  8. Neither has Jenkins. Has looked terribly slow for Ipswich in the first couple of meetings, and didn’t look much better here by the look of things. Early days though.
  9. Doyle and Emil in two of the last three heats is a strength. Not sure why you’d move away from that to be honest. It’s a strange suggestion.
  10. Yes I didn’t understand his reasoning either. Thankfully it won’t happen.
  11. The home straight stand is a reserved seating option to season ticket holders at £30 a season, the back straight stand is however free. I’ve sat in both, and personally I prefer the higher view from the free back straight stand. The Grandstand is too low for my liking and I’m not a fan of viewing through a fence.
  12. Absolutely, each to their own. I’ll bet my last Rolo though that those against it didn’t walk out after heat 15 and refused to watch it..
  13. Then build top heavy? If not, you have 15 heats to avoid a “superheat”, if you can’t, tough. Birmingham were 10 points up, twice and still didn’t win. That’s their fault. Every club and every supporter knows the rules, if you finish level after 15 heats then it’s a superheat. I’m in the minority it seems reading the comments on here, I’ve no problem with that. I have my own opinion and won’t be swayed by others. For me it adds drama, you gain an extra heat with the 4 best riders on show for your money. OK it sucks if you’re on the wrong end of it, but if you’re on the winning end there’s no better feeling. A couple of seasons ago we had it twice at Ipswich and they were the lasting memory of the entire season for me personally. At the end of the superheats, strangers were hugging each other all over the place, you’d think we’d just won the title there and then! The place was buzzing. I’m all for anything that creates an extra bit of excitement. Birmingham didn’t lose their point for “drawing” did they? They still took their point.
  14. Nicholls isn’t guesting for Pawlicki, he’s a short term replacement and in the declared 1-7.
  15. https://x.com/speedwaygb/status/1771237514889605389?s=46 Fantastic from Bewley.
  16. Kind of relying on Bewley to have his usual Foxhall stinker. If he doesn’t we’re in a spot of bother
  17. Huge blow if Doyle is missing. Nicholls over R/R every time.
  18. Nothing wrong with a spoons! I mean food isn’t Michelin star stuff but it’s decent and the prices won’t be beaten. Fish and chips and a pint under a tenna, can’t go wrong.
  19. No weather concerns so good to go tomorrow. Always important to get off to good start, especially at home. Is tomorrow the day that Bewley finally comes to the party at Foxhall? He’s too talented a rider not to so it has to come at some point you’d think. Kurtz on the other hand rides it well and is more than capable of taking the scalps of our top two which we’ve already seen here. Looks a good contest to kick things off.
