  1. I think it’s both personally. Individuals are a bit different to team sports. Liverpool was always unpopular with just about everybody other than Liverpool supporters back in the day because they were so dominant. The same for Manchester United in the 90’s. Fans of other clubs will be jealous and want to see them knocked off their perch. The best victories in matches will nearly always be against those clubs at the time. Nothing wrong with that it’s human nature I suppose. Does happen with individuals as well though. Steve Davis was universally unpopular in the 80’s, but when Hendry came along and his success dried up, he suddenly became far more popular and supported and Hendry then became unpopular!
  2. All one and the same really isn’t it? It’s all one entity surely.
  3. Part of the dislike for Poole is that they’re very successful. Happens in any sport when a team is so successful and dominant, they become disliked by fans of other clubs. That can hardly be labelled at Ipswich! The club haven’t won a league title for many many years. It’s all a bit strange to be honest but hey ho.
  4. Ipswich don’t have to “claim” anything. The points limit WAS in place prior to the AGM, confirmed by Phil Morris in the press release. Yet another hit piece on Ipswich that has no foundation whatsoever. Not surprising who has jumped all over your post with his backing either.
  5. It’ll be his converted Berwick average apparently, whatever that is.
  6. Was gonna say the same. There’s a fag paper between all three so it doesn’t really matter which one is at reserve. I’d be very surprised to see Kvech at reserve at any point though. Out of the whole team he’s the one that has the potential to get to 1 and stay there.
  7. I’d expect Kvech and Lawson to be at 1 and 5 after the first change of averages. Those two in heats 13 and 15 isn’t too shabby at all.
  8. Doesn’t threaten a play off place all things being equal but they’re not afraid of making changes up there. Think they’ll be tinkering pretty quickly.
  9. It’s just Howarth for Lawson. I think..
  10. The standard was nothing like we’re seeing now either. That season was a bit of an anomaly.
  11. Not sure you see the real benefit of a strong reserve when you build strength in depth with all riders (bar the rs) of a similar standard. If Harris ends up having seven rides, then he’s replacing someone in the 1-5 of a similar standard who isn’t doing the job they’ve been brought in to do to make a strength in depth team work. It’s going to be interesting though to see them up against the others who have been built top heavy to see which strategy pays off. If Kvech does jump to 1 and does a number 1’s job there which he looks talented enough to do, then who knows!
  12. Going by last two years he definitely does. Scored 7+1 one visit with Ipswich this season, his previous three visits have all been paid double figure scores and two of those were in his dreadful 2023 season with Sheffield. For a 5.5 middle order rider, that’s a good record.
  13. We had a poor record at Sheffield until this year. We won’t continually be poor at the NSS, the team is too good for that to happen.
  14. Belle Vue HAD Zach Cook. Whether Rew’s sudden availability has given them second thoughts and caused them to back out of a deal with Zach, who knows. Both fit average wise for Ben Cook to get them under the limit. Still think they’ll keep their word and go with Zach but we’ll see.
  15. “Get ready for a frantic Friday”? I guess just announcing Klindt on his own is considered frantic by Lynn’s standards tbf 😜
  16. Reading Morris’ comments in the PR, he mentions getting more local double headers on this year. Wonder if that means we’ll get our old Bank Holiday double header back on? Hope so
  17. And rightly so. Much better idea than having an uneven number of clubs and one club skipping a round. Good decision.
  18. They’re still part of the team. The others have also ridden and “done their jobs”. Never gonna agree with you here. Not wanting the very best riders out on track as often as possible is absolutely bonkers. Only in Speedway.
  19. I think you know what I’m saying without getting all “Pooleyfied” 🙄
  20. But we have so many moaning about value for money. Surely, you want to see Sayfutdinov, Woffinden, Bewley etc as often as possible? If it’s a superheat, watching the best riders, sometimes the best riders in the world, battling each other three times in the last four heats is something EVERY fan should want to see? Why on earth wouldn’t you want that?
  21. Dunno myself. Is it anymore Mickey Mouse than having clubs have a bye and racing less fixtures to win it than others? I quite like this idea actually. Also gives their supporters a juicy fixture to look forward to and see riders at their track that they’re currently not seeing.
  22. And he didn’t get going until May/June! His mechanical issues were well documented both here and in Poland. Once sorted he was back to the form he showed the previous season where he comfortably topped the averages. He’s now on a figure a point less than the one he started on, there’s an increase there. He’s another reason we’ve managed to squeeze in the team we have, alongside five brits with reductions and one of them on a 25% reduction. Our main competition you’d think, will all have a weaker team on paper than they did this year. We probably won’t get another opportunity as good as next year for a while, they’ve built absolutely superbly.
