  1. Jenkins has picked up a little, but it’s a pretty low bar. He’s been generally poor this season so far in both leagues, but as you say, he’s won a couple of important races recently. BUT, Hawkins said this on the official website this week.. ”we will look at options and see what we can do, and we will do what is best for Ipswich Speedway and do our very best to make us the strongest team out on track” There can’t be an argument that if an 8 point man is brought in to replace Doyle, then another change (i.e Cook for Jenkins) would make the team stronger. Is not replacing Jenkins with Cook “doing what is best for Ipswich Speedway to make us the strongest team out on track”? The obvious answer is no. I’m with you though, I think it’ll be a straight swap for Doyle and that’ll be that. But it could end up being another opportunity missed. King has withdrawn from tomorrow’s British final by the way.
  2. Although you can never be totally sure until they’ve ridden here, but he’s obviously a classy rider and you’d think would take to the tracks here pretty well. Not sure too many would be disappointed with him. Presumably he’d come in on 8, so that leaves the question on what you do with the extra point (1.16). Do you leave things as they are or strengthen further and sign the available Zach Cook and replace Jenkins..
  3. Wasn’t he very good around Monmore though? Foxhall is a bigger track so think it may take a ride, but he’ll cope ok I think.
  4. Well the anorak who doesn’t post anymore (*cough* Beerhut) reckons it’s Linus Sundstrom and Scotty. He’s a bigger fan than me so I’ll bow to his superior knowledge
  5. https://x.com/ipswichspeedway/status/1798681153727328732?s=46 Anyone? Is it Swidders Badge? And Kim Jansson everybody?? You’ll soon tell me lol
  6. Don’t think Louis would even entertain the idea to be honest.
  7. I know from reading your posts on here that you tend to view things slightly on the pessimistic side when it comes to Birmingham (a lot justified this year granted!) but that’s a hell of a stretch even for you! absolutely no chance a Freddie led Birmingham get beat by 20+.
  8. It’s a demand at Ipswich, not a request so you’re quite correct. Emil to his credit took that on board. They may have to lower their sights and change the make up of the side from a powerful top end, to a more strength in depth looking side with just Emil as the big hitter. That would mean sacrificing a rider lower down unfortunately. The drop off points wise from Doyle’s replacement has to be made up elsewhere in the team. We’ll see.
  9. Think they’ll wait until both Ellis and King are back and prove their fitness. I know Ellis is back Thursday and King is aiming to be back Saturday for the British final, but if one or both suffer a reaction and are out again for a period then it could reduce the clubs options if a direct replacement for Doyle is already in place. They’re probably not sure if it’s one change needed, or two going forward.
  10. Sedgmen as well can take a ride and he’s in good form. Sedgmen, Brennan and realistically two from Pawlicki is more than good enough cover for Worrall.
  11. Ipswich have now done just that. Hodder now named as #8.
  12. I’m glad he’s in the team it makes it a more interesting meeting. The Emil and Freddie battles should be a decent watch.
  13. No, only for the opening cup fixture which was last week.
  14. Siggy was spot on https://ipswichwitches.co/raceday-preview-birmingham-knockout-cup-semi-final-second-leg-h/
  15. If that’s the case tocha then Siggy may have heard correctly and it’s R/R for Dan. Should find out today anyway.
  16. Joe seems the obvious choice I guess. Unless he’s been too close to his brother and struck down also..
  17. Can’t use a guest rising star either. Belle Vue, Oxford and Leicester not riding, but Ipswich can’t use Bailey, Boughen or Hagon. They have to use another rider on the rising star list who isn’t part of another team’s 1-7. That was the rule last year, dunno if that’s changed this.
  18. Agree Masters was disappointing on Thursday but the track made things unpredictable. He’s historically been excellent around Foxhall in the past so let’s hope for a dry few days and we see the usual Foxhall form from him. Harris seems to have picked up a bit for Oxford as well lately.
  19. I’ve said all I’m going to on this GM otherwise I’ll just end up repeating myself. I don’t see a big issue, others do which is fair enough it’s up to them. Anyway uppa Witches! A result I certainly wasn’t expecting. Still a job to be done but if we can get over the line, it gives us a great opportunity to get the team sorted and have a good crack at Sheffield in September to retain the trophy.
  20. Seems as though the racing improved after a track grade and water was thrown down after heat 11? Begs the question why that wasn’t done sooner. After the water went down Rew immediately found grip on the outside with a cracking ride in heat 12 and likewise Emil in 15 after he failed to gain any ground in two of his earlier heats when he missed the gate.
  21. On the bottom bit, that decision might have already resolved itself with Worrall having health issues and depending on how long he might be out for. As for the Witches, thanks for the info Siggy, would be a big boost getting Ellis back and with King nearing a return, light at the end of a dark tunnel!
