  1. But you're not riding Sheffield tomorrow are you you'll be taking on a better side.
  2. Isn't that two points from 6 meetings now from Makinen? Deary me enough is enough surely Mr Louis! Even with Barker still not up to the form he's capable of that's a great result. Not many teams will pick up points there.
  3. I wasn't there granted but on the face of it that seems a bit harsh. Paid 7 from effectively 3 rides and leading for 3 laps before falling in his first ride doesn't seem a bad effort away from home really for a second string. The problem in these two meetings for Ipswich has been Makinen not beating an opponent and Ellis understandably feeling his way in to PL racing. Fairly solid from the rest. Speedy recovery to the 3 injured riders.
  4. That's the problem when you make trolling posts like this one. You can sometimes end up looking a right prat!
  5. It was pretty poor to be fair wasn't it. Not a great deal to get excited about in all honesty. Wasn't really expecting a classic either with the difficulties the track staff must have endured.
  6. Not directly in front of someone sitting no! There is simply no excuse for that. Foxhall can hold 10,000 people and it isn't the 70's where the place was packed to the rafters. If you turn up and then go and stand directly in front of someone who is sitting in a chair blocking their view, no matter where they are sitting, then that is ignorant plain and simple when there is so much space around the entire stadium to stand without blocking someone's view. If you're standing and then someone comes and puts up their chair directly behind you and then asks you to move, then that is a different kettle of fish.
  7. But Ipswich don't ride at Peterborough, they ride at Foxhall. I can never really understand your type of thinking. I come from Ipswich, and Ipswich is my team so I support them. Would I prefer Ipswich to be in the EL? Most definitely. But they're not so I go and watch them in the PL instead. I'm with you that I prefer to watch Elite League racing than Premier League, but only if my team is in it. I certainly wouldn't travel to watch a team I don't support on a regular basis be it EL or not. I get far more satisfaction watching my team at Foxhall and get much more emotionally involved than i would watching a team i didn't have any affiliation with. But each to their own!
  8. I'm not sure it is. We'd all like to be paying less obviously, but compared to EL prices i think Ipswich have pitched it about right. Most EL clubs are charging £17 with a lot charging £1 for the car park. Ipswich at £15.50 with free car parking for PL is not unreasonable in comparison imo.
  9. Possibly, but I've got to admit the description of the rider your promoter is quoted as looking for, sounds exactly like Doolan/Lanham.
  10. Doesn't make an awful lot of sense considering he's been travelling to Ipswich for a couple of years, and was quoted in the Ipswich Star a few weeks back saying that he still harboured hopes of returning to Ipswich next season. Sheffield to Rye would actually cut his journey slightly by about half hour!
  11. Stefan Nielsen will be at Ipswich next season, more than likely on a full transfer.
  12. I never get around much anymore, but I hear from close friends that do that Workington are not the only ones trying to get by on those sort of figures. Worrying times it really is.
  13. Lots of finger pointing and blame at the people in charge written here, but is there seriously less than 500 supporters attending meetings? If that is accurate, I'm sorry but that just isn't enough to sustain speedway anywhere.
  14. Did he really say that? bloody cheek considering he completely stank the gaff out all season! Should have been axed earlier.
  15. From what I gather, the outlay to purchase the contracts of both Doolan and Risager for that matter, were minimal. Those fees could in theory be comfortably regained through loan fees in the coming years.
  16. Agree with the post above. Poole is the better rider and has more potential. But he won't get it over Risager for non speedway reasons. In my opinion.
  17. Lanham and Ipswich officials in extensive discussion after the meeting at Rye last night. Lets hope a deal was reached.
  18. Very much liking the sound of Chris Louis' plan. Expect more young assets signed over the next 12 months in readiness for an assault on the Elite league. For now, enjoy the premier league ride.
  19. I was being flippant. These signings haven't been popular in certain quarters.
  20. Heeps on a 3.00 and Tungate on 5.00 are clearly bargains.....
  21. That i'm led to believe is Chris Louis' plan from what I've been told. He's looking to move both clubs up a division in 2014, with the slight possibility of it happening in 2013 if certain things fall in to place. The relationships between the two clubs will remain.
  22. Interesting stuff thanks Halifax. Hope to have a look sometime in the near future.
  23. I've seen a few comments now on the healthy crowds at Plymouth. Having never been, roughly what sort of numbers do they attract down there?
  24. Lewis Blackbird named as captain and becomes a full club asset along with Josh Bates, Daniel Halsey, and Aaron Baseby http://www.lovespeedway24.co.uk/teams/mildenhall-fen-tigers/lewis_blackbird_gets_mildenhall_honour_1_1213778
