  1. Risager anywhere in the 1-7 is where the wheels come off. When it came to the crunch, Risager went AWOL big time. When Ipswich dropped to the Premier League, both Doolan and Risager were signed as club assets to help the club in this division. Both riders disappointed and didn't fulfil the hopes of the promotion and fans alike. But only one was given the old tin tac while the other is still here disappointing after 3 years. And some are quick to come on here and shoot down suggestions by some, including good old Jackal!, that Risager is only in the team based on non speedway matters. I personally think Jackal was right about this one.
  2. Agreed, they look very very strong. The one area you could say could be targeted was their reserves, but it looks like they've made a very good choice bringing in Wright, despite the criticism they took in doing so.
  3. It should count, his level is better than 3 points at PL level. This isn't a witchhunt, it happens, and it happened last night. The bottom line is Risager let the team down yesterday and he knows it. There's no point dressing it up any other way. And I agree with you, I'd expect Risager to be one of the first names on the team sheet for next year, whatever League we find ourselves in!
  4. Doesn't matter what position he rode, be it number 5, 2 or anywhere else. 3 points was woeful and he let the team down. Tungate also didn't have his best night, and to be honest is a victim of his early career success. Tungate is riding his second season as a professional speedway rider. Risager on the other hand has nearly 10 years riding experience, most of it in the top flight.
  5. He let the team down, pure and simple. A rider of his experience has to be doing better than that. Cameron Heeps tweeted after a rare poor meeting for him at Edinburgh recently, that he let the team down on that occasion. Risager has to hold his hands up and admit that he, let the team down last night.
  6. You may well know him personally, that's your problem. But the drivel he's been spouting on here since Thursday is blatant trolling, pure and simple.
  7. The changes made to the track at Foxhall took a lot of money, and an awful lot of effort to complete. It wasn't just shaving a bit off here and there, the inside line was moved in all the way around the track and by some distance on the corners. The difference that made to the racing at Foxhall has been huge and the promotion deserve enormous credit for that. I agree with blu, I've thoroughly enjoyed the racing at Foxhall this year.
  8. To be fair, I think Steve Irving started another one in good faith judging by his comments on the thread, which have now been deleted, and not just to get it locked. Don't be silly. You know full well why the threads were locked, and it's because of ONE individual troll. It doesn't look bad on the club at all, that's just ridiculous.
  9. What the hell is wrong with some people on here lately? Stay off the thread then screm, don't post on it and stay well away it's really very simple!!! It's not "another" one either, If you read the mods comments, it's been left open and replaced the old Ipswich 2013 thread which was locked, and now binned.
  10. They have indeed. It's an ongoing process too with more work being done throughout the winter. If you haven't been for a couple of years then you'd be surprised at the improvements made.
  11. I agree he makes an abysmal commentator, truly woeful. Great racing though as ever at Somerset.
  12. Nobody has gotten "on his back" as you put it, just some have quite rightly, expressed their disappointment at his points return this year. Ben Barker has set very high standards in the Premier League and has been the top rider for the last two seasons on a near 10 point average. This season so far, he hasn't lived up to those high standards and that's by his own admission, both in the Premier League and the Elite league for Birmingham. the dominant performance you seem to have witnessed last evening, and the dominant performance the Berwick supporters witnessed the night before, we just haven't seen yet at Foxhall. Don't get me wrong, he's not been awful by any stretch of the imagination, he just hasn't been close to the standard we've seen from him in the PL with Plymouth these last few seasons. When you build your team with a number one on a near 10 point average, you need him to be a dominant number one and he's just fell short of that so far. Chris Louis commented that these last few nights, he's finally looked like the "number one that we signed him to be" and that his struggles have been machinery based and not down to his ability. Hopefully now he's got that sorted and he can continue to be that dominant number one we all know he is at this level. We'll need him to be if we're going to fight for the title that's for sure.
  13. I bet Pete will be chuffed with you for this. You've basically just kicked him squarely in the gonads! Pete, you don't motivate the team mate...
  14. Have you sent that cheque for Joe Jacobs yet? If not get a move on please
  15. Best of luck to Jo he's a good kid and It's nice to see him doing well. Hopefully Glasgow come up with an offer Chris Louis deems acceptable. With Ipswich going for Barker on such a high average they were always going to need a 3 pointer, and they definitely made the right choice in Adam Ellis.
  16. Only the supporters who were there can answer that with confidence but I'll have a stab even though I wasn't. With two falls and two exclusions in heat 2, and then a fall from a Leicester rider in a 2 rider heat against no opposition, I guess you could say the track was at best, tricky?
  17. Aww come on it's a forum to discuss these things! Riders scores always have been and always will be discussed on here after meetings. Being disappointed in certain riders performances is hardly "sniping" either.
  18. Indeed, I'd imagine Louis would be delighted if North gets the call as that would probably add numbers to the gate.
  19. Does it matter also that it wasn't an "official" fixture? Probably should matter but I wonder if it makes a difference.
  20. Yep and the jungle drums would suggest he's on the radar of a number of clubs. If we want him, we might have to move quickly...
  21. On the meeting itself, I don't normally like individual meetings like this but I really enjoyed the meeting. Some excellent racing at times.
  22. What I find equally disturbing is the reports on here that North was congratulated by other riders on his actions!
