  1. Probably bit of both. We're the "paper" champions of the world don't you know! For once, just ONCE it would be nice to turn that paper trophy it to one made of sterling silver!!
  2. You see, never EVER play your "Ooppppsss" card too early
  3. Got to laugh at the suggestion that we prepared a track specifically because we were afraid of Peterborough. LOL
  4. Another tough looking fixture for the Witches. Can see a similar result to yesterday at Peterborough, narrow home win and Witches picking up a point.
  5. TBF it's what a forum is for, debate and giving opinions. The Panthers fans make good points on those strange decisions for what it's worth.
  6. Not a bad meeting and a few good races. Not particularly a fan of Holder I think he's a tad overrated, but he impressed me today. Much much better from him. King was actually feeling worse today than he was on Saturday which is surprising. Needs a good few days to rest his body. Agree with the above we need Newman fit and in the side ASAP to realise the full potential of the side. I can see us getting stronger as the season progresses. Both lads at reserve will continue their progress and Mountain in particular is coming off a nasty injury and long lay off so a lot more to come from the pair of them. A point on the road is always welcome. Pick up a few points away from home here and there and remain unbeaten at home which I think we will this year, should be good enough for top 4.
  7. Think BWD will be the difference today. Bjerre looks an excellent guest too so think it'll be a close run thing.
  8. Anyway come and gone this meeting now let's see what we get this afternoon. Good racing a given and I've a feeling it will be very tight.
  9. There's a world of difference between attacking a grippy track which was entirely possible on Thursday, and trying to ride the Showground when it was like a ploughed field as I'm sure you know full well. You say it's not like that anymore fair enough, but some of those tracks were barely rideable let alone raceable. Not a single person has claimed any different. You won't find one Ipswich supporter that will claim Foxhall produces more entertainment than the Showground so I'm not sure why you brought that in to the equation. The Showground is widely regarded as one of the best race tracks in the country, unfortunately there aren't many others like it. I disagree with your assessment that a grippy Foxhall has never been a recipe for good racing though.
  10. "Too grippy"?? Oh do me a favour! Anyone who wasn't there will get the impression it was a ploughed potato field akin to the tripe the Showground has served up over the years!! It was far from that. If that track these days is considered "too grippy" then I despair at what this sport has become. The best performers on the night were two inexperienced kids who have only a couple of years experience between them, and a rider (King) who was untouchable having had a horrible fall 2 days earlier, was battered and bruised and restricted in his movement and who required physio before, during and after the meeting! No sorry, this is all about the pathetic attitude of a few Peterborough riders.
  11. "Nothing Steve. Grippy at teams request. I was just disappointed that the Peterborough boys threw the towel in so easy! Not good for fans!" Tweet from Chris Louis this afternoon in response to the question what was wrong with the track.
  12. https://twitter.com/gregkingston/status/853348387046993922 Cracking aerial views of Foxhall last night. Car park looks packed which is surprising considering it was a "poor crowd" for an easter meeting.
  13. Heeps made a couple of cracking passes. Chased the dirt and raced. Hume, a 2 point reserve with only one season's experience behind him had no problems whatsoever, neither did BWD. Very easy to use the track as an excuse for a pathetic lack of effort.
  14. Agree with a lot of the comments on here. An awful lot of Panthers fans made the effort to support their team tonight, and they were badly let down by the majority of their team. They deserve an apology.
  15. We've got riders that go well at the Showground, but it's so difficult winning anywhere away from home in this sport.
  16. Starke now withdrawn. BWD a busy boy! We knew Hume was a steal he's a good lad
  17. What's wrong with Lambert?? Not even trying! Clearly doesn't fancy it whatsoever
  18. Was quicker than Hume, but whenever he got close he eased off the gas and didn't even attempt a pass..
  19. Masters would do nicely IF King wasn't fit. Actually I wouldn't be unhappy with Steve Worrall either. He's again started the season in fine form for Newcastle. Have yet to see anything on social media from the club regarding King's fitness. Must be a doubt though with him withdrawing from his guest booking with Poole yesterday. I'm sure the Panthers fans don't care though! Don't blame them either. Got to be ruthless and take advantage of any weaknesses in the opposition to get points on the board. I'd be exactly the same.
  20. Well if he's not fully fit I'd rather not gamble and get a guest in. King is pretty dominant at both Foxhall AND the Showground so it would obviously be a blow. But I hope it's not a case of "I'll give it a go" which could backfire massively. We rely heavily on both King and Schlein hitting double figures which they'll do more often than not, but when they don't we'll see results like we had at Sheffield on Thursday.
  21. I really wouldn't bother he's clearly a clueless berk who enjoys trolling. 8 points between King and Schlein? Don't think we'll see that again this year! Not overly concerned we're far better than that. Well done Sheffield.
  22. Agree with you Baldy. Let's not forget that Newman's average was skewed a little by having spells at #1 for Plymouth. Just shows how strong we look on paper! Newman was #1 for Plymouth at times but he's 4th heatleader for us.. I really like Sarj as well and thought he done a super job for us last year. In an ideal world I'd include both.
  23. Dont worry Baldy if they can't manage it we'll do it ourselves over the Easter weekend LOL
