  1. Blupanther is a Panthers fan, the clue is in his name I'd never say a point dropped it's difficult winning anywhere away from home in this sport and 4 point away wins are pretty rare.
  2. Yeah Newman and Sedgman in the middle order looks as good as any on paper but neither are firing on all cylinders. Newman had a late start to the season though so no doubt he'll get better as the weeks tick by. Confident that both will have a big part to play later in the season though when it really matters.
  3. Howarth has been on fire this year. Makes things a bit tougher for us for sure but we should still be looking to pick up a point at the very least.
  4. To be 4 up after heat 8 and not even come away with a point is really poor from the Panthers. Well done to the Bandits.
  5. Fear the reserves will be key here. We're fine at Foxhall and will probably go unbeaten, but it's on the road where our tail will tell. Hope to be wrong a point would be fantastic here. It's Scunny and Worky I'm realistically targeting away points so anything here tonight is a bonus.
  6. Well it's persisted it down all night long and flooded our yard. Still raining steadily now and is forecast to keep raining until 9 o clock. Then a dry day until tea time when the heavy stuff is forecast to come again. I'll predict an early call off here.
  7. Christ Peterborough have some monumental cockwombles following them on here!!
  8. No surprise to me really Panthers badly lack any real top end oomph. They wouldn't stand a chance of beating any of the top sides over two legs so unless they change the make up of the side they won't win a bean.
  9. 7 rides for Nielsen? He'll be a busy boy this evening. I like Stefan he's a good lad and good little rider. Tough as ol boots as well.
  10. Wouldn't be a surprise to me if this was a similar result to last week for opposite reasons. Glasgow's top 3 all scored well which helped them take a point, Nielsen at reserve should clean up for Scunny which could well see them take something also. Especially as Greaves hasn't had a ride at Foxhall yet this season and has had far fewer meetings around here than Nielsen in general so that'll keep things close(ish) I think.
  11. I used to love Wagon wheels back in the day. In those days they were actually the size of Wagon's wheels! Nowadays they're barely bigger than a Jaffa cake *rolleyes* Same goes for the tins of choc at Christmas. Used to be able to bury your arm in them up to your elbow and have a good swish around, these days they're as flat as a Witch' ti t!
  12. Got to be honest, it doesn't look any different to me and the racing is pretty much the same. It certainly doesn't look "rounder" to me whatsoever which was the aim. You can vaguely see the inside line coming in slightly earlier down the home straight when you stand directly in line with it, but you have to wonder whether it was worth all the hassle of uprooting the kerb and putting all the effort in. I'm not knocking CL or anyone for trying don't get me wrong and fair play to them for not settling for what they had and at least trying. But if you're going to go to that effort of uprooting the kerbs and digging, then I'd have like to have seen much more taken off to make it worthwhile. If that shortens the track further so be it. West Row is a lot smaller than Foxhall, but consistently produces better racing IMO.
  13. A message from Chris Louis: I would like to offer a public apology to the hard working promotional team of Barry Bishop and Martin Widman at Isle of Wight Speedway Club. Following Nathan Greaves' decision to join Ipswich, he made a call to inform the Warriors of that decision. In my haste to get the paperwork done in time as to not miss the averages cut off, it is with much regret that I did not back that call up personally. From my days at Mildenhall I understand all too well the pressure that this puts all National League clubs under and it was an error on my part not to do so. For the feeling of disrespect and the position that the club now finds itself in, I apologise wholeheartedly to the riders, fans, management and volunteers at the club. Chris Louis https://www.facebook.com/IpswichWitches/posts/1548957901812658 Well Greaves has beaten Jake Allen, Gravesen twice and finished ahead of his partner Mark Riss so far. There's a fair few two pointers in this league this year who are finding it tough going so I think Greaves will do fine. The top 5 are where our heavy points are going to be scored, Greaves and Mountain just need to chip in with a few here and there and we'll be fine IMO.
  14. Exactly. You'd think reading some of the comments we'd drafted in a ringer who was far superior to what we had which isn't the case. Anyway, it appears we're working on a couple of solutions according to RH so it's going to be interesting to see what they come up with. Can't see a lot myself in all honesty but we'll see.
  15. Worth pointing out that Shanes was replacing Hume, who has also hit double figures at Foxhall and been riding very well. We picked a good replacement guest last night, but the reality is that will be short lived and we're very unlikely to sufficiently replace Hume long term. You can put good looking teams together in the winter but you need luck along the way in this game. We've had plenty so far, unfortunately it's been of the rotten kind. But despite that, we're still in the mix at the business end of the table.
  16. Shanes made all the difference. Without his hugely impressive contribution that's a home loss. Replacing Hume is a major headache for the promotion as Mountain has been struggling in all honesty. The Glasgow heatleaders were better than ours. King is struggling at the moment too for some reason. Every faith he'll get it right again he's too good not too and Newman and Sedgman will only get better with more meetings. Was thinking the same, money talks. Maybe ask the sponsors to contribute a little bit more to help secure him and make an offer he can't refuse.. I know Guy Nicholls was very influential in helping the club make changes last year at a significant cost. He wants to see success at the club so maybe could help again in that department. Can't hurt to ask.
