  1. Was my initial thoughts as well. Both Louis and Ged are on record as saying is was “business as usual” although obviously not as before, and they were building the team. Perhaps they were given a rough estimate of available funds and built the teams accordingly. Now that a sale has been completed, buster has decided it’s too expensive? The other possibility, is buster has a responsibility to all three clubs he’s now in charge of, and he can see that Ipswich are struggling to get in a heatleader? There is one available (Tungate), but for reasons I won’t go in to on here that is a move that won’t happen. So his plan is to move Bomber out of one of his clubs and move him to another, and then move Tungate to Peterborough where he’d be more welcome.. Only speculating of course, but I wouldn’t be surprised at either scenario.
  2. Exactly. But to be fair, many others have as well! They make their own rules so bloody complicated that even those heavily involved don’t always understand them
  3. I’d say if it’s wrong it’s more than likely CL has got it wrong rather than the Star? There were plenty of quotes from Chris in that article today so I’d assume someone from the Star has been speaking to Chris about the latest at Ipswich. Could be wrong maybe the Star done their own sums who knows.
  4. 13.48 left confirmed in today’s speedway Star. Going to be tricky finding two heatleaders with that. More likely one heatleader (if we’re lucky), and another 5-6 point second string Louis says he hopes to complete the team “over the next couple of weeks”, so still no heatleader signed. Also concedes it’s been tough going. No sh!t
  5. Good to see! A fit and hungry (no not in that sense ) Cameron Heeps will be a very handy reserve for us no doubt in my mind at all. In fact, a Heeps/Allen pairing is one area of the team I think we’d ALL agree is a strong one.
  6. Think you’re always going to get inconsistencies with the Poles over here, even the very top ones have tracks and meetings that they just don’t go well on/in. Even Gollob had some absolute stinkers, especially at Wolves. All in all though it’s a signing I’m pleased with. He won plenty of races in his spell here last year with Leicester so that’s a good sign considering he was seeing tracks for the first time. Cant say I know about his riding style, but Louis and Ritchie Hawkins seem to think he’ll be a crowd pleaser and entertaining so that’s always a positive.
  7. “My manager Thomas Gaszynski, who was Tomasz Gollob’s manager for 25 years, and Chris Louis, who Thomas has known for many years” So who else does this Gasz cat manage?
  8. Me too. Just like the old days, had to be a Pole in there somewhere!
  9. Anyone know why he lost his place in the Leicester team last season? He seems to have looked pretty decent tbf. Anyway welcome lad, by my calculations that leaves 13.48 left for the last two
  10. Krystian Pieszczek is the 5th signing. Think Baldy mentioned him a few pages back!
  11. Loved a bit of Puz me! He was a great character.
  12. 5th rider confirmed tomorrow morning. Leaving three riders left give you options with the points remaining, signing 5 and leaving only 2 obviously less so. So you’d think they’ve either got the 7 signed up, or are pretty confident of getting them signed up. Possibly..
  13. “4good signings announced & the 5th is someone I believe can quickly become a fan favourite” From Ritchie Hawkins Twitter. So we’ve signed a 5th at least.. That’s screaming David Bellego at me for some reason
  14. Fixtures released this week I believe. Going to be interesting to see who we’ll get stuffed by first
  15. Hugely impressive from Tungate it has to be said. They could have raced there all night long and he wouldn’t have been beaten. Very fast on the night. Well done to Fricke overall though, a worthy champion.
  16. Back in November I’d have said no ta, but I’d snap your hand off for KK right now..
  17. It’s going to be so satisfying turning you over, just like we always do!
  18. Just read the Speedway Star and I wouldn’t read much in to Lawson starting at number 1. Seems a bit of a nothing piece really and just says unless Ipswich sign a “heavyweight” who didn’t ride in the UK last season, he COULD be fighting it out for the number 1 berth. They don’t seem to have any clue like the rest of us. Interestingly, Tungate says in the Star there could be a possibility “in the next few days” of something happening in the Premiership, with only Kings Lynn and Ipswich spots available. Yes we know it was very unlikely he would return to Ipswich for various reasons that I won’t go in to on here, but just maybe they’ve got to the point where we’re going to have to take him on because we have no other choice? Really can’t see him rocking up at Lynn
  19. We did, and Louis was (is?) a big fan. Wanted him signed as a full asset but ultimately got outbid by Rick Frost at Peterborough. Maybe an option..
  20. I really like Allen and Heeps at reserve, and I haven’t a problem with King and Lawson in the engine room either, particularly at Foxhall. It’s the final three that will make or break us. Think we all agree King and Heeps were pretty much certain, and both Lawson and Allen were named by reliable people on here as well. But their hasn’t been a sniff of a rumour for the remaining three so it’s going to be interesting to see what they come up with.
  21. Dunno mate we all pretty much know that Lawson is in so think I’d prefer to get this announcement out of the way so we can then prolong the excitement (or the agony ) a little bit longer
  22. Smart money would be Richard Lawson. The last remaining rider that’s been well strongly rumoured as “Signed”.
  23. Nothing wrong with a Heeps/Allen reserve pairing whatsoever. That was never going to be the issue.
