  1. So it seems to be predominantly Swindon fans who think this is a poor move. Not surprising considering he’s a favourite there. I dare say he’d be a favourite at Foxhall if he reproduced his Swindon form here. Unfortunately all he’s produced is absolute guff.
  2. I know where he’s coming from too tbh. There’s no doubt Harris started on an inflated average and you just get the feel that if we had someone better on that average, it could really give us a genuine shot at the title. Im not saying he should definitely go, for a start I don’t see too many better options to replace him and he also seems to bed in well within the team and they all seem to get on well. One thing I have been disappointed about him though is the entertainment factor. Where is the “bomber” that you expect to see riding right out to the fence, wringing the throttle and reeling in those in front? people can’t say that it’s not the track for him to do that because we see Heeps using those lines all the time and Nico did as well. We just see Harris happy to float around mid track and they’re not the lines I was expecting him to be using.
  3. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion of course, but I think you’ll be in a minority here. 13 meetings and averaging 4.40. If Kennett doesn’t improve upon that average I’ll be staggered. We’ll see.
  4. Yeah but you also said pre-season that we were easily the worst side in the league and were certs for the wooden spoon
  5. Thought this was an interesting (and beautiful) picture from Jeff Higgott. This taken after the meeting, and just shows how much rain had fallen the previous evening and through the early hours of the morning. The track staff did well. The picture btw is taken from the infield half way down the back straight where Bob Ellis parks his tractor.
  6. “55 points in 13 meetings at an average of just 4.40.” Just seen this stat. He can’t have any complaints
  7. Really don’t think it does Steve. Hard to be weakened away from home by axing a rider who Belle Vue aside, has been absolutely dreadful!
  8. We just need Kennett to do the same as the others, a steady 6/7/8/9. Bellego wasn’t doing that. Nobody is expecting him to come in and be a heatleader and to be honest, we don’t need him to be. He’ll slot in to the middle order and make this “strength in depth” team even more strength in depth. 100% improves this team IMO.
  9. We’re already unbeaten at home this season and that one change has made fortress Foxhall even more of a fortress. Kennett will be far superior to Bellego around the Heath that’s not even up for debate. Perfect timing with a dangerous looking Swindon coming up next. Well done to those involved (whoever that may be) who decided to act and make the change. I know we’ve all been crying out for it, but it could have been easy to hide behind the team doing so well as a reason NOT to change anything. Good decision and good signing.
  10. Well it looked it tbf. Never really going to tell until the riders get out on it but it looked in terrific nik when we turned up.
  11. I agree not easy. I was expecting it to be difficult as the weather was very similar to the 24 hours leading to the Wolves fixture. Heavy overnight rain then a dry day. We saw how tricky that made things against Wolves so tonight wasn’t such a surprise.
  12. What do you want a medal? Wright Nicholls and Tungate have all won countless races around Foxhall and on another night, RR could have proved ample cover. It certainly wasn’t the outlandish suggestion you’re making it out to be. As it turned out, it didn’t and you were proven correct. Congratulations.
  13. Easy to say after the event. I stand by my comment. On paper pre-meeting, it didn’t look a bad alternative.
  14. Phew came through unscathed yet again and to send away the Panthers with nothing is an added bonus. Just gotta hope Jake Allen and KP get themselves back fit soon because although we’re still winning, (which is an encouraging sign) we’ll need them if we’re to stay where we are. Well done Richard Lawson top drawer this evening.
  15. Disagree. Nicholls, Wright, Tungate and whoever has impressed on their first outing is a suitable replacement IMO. Garcia is a trier, but no replacement for Jake Allen obviously. Allen’s continued absence can’t be understated he’s been a massive part of our excellent start to the season. Last time out without him we just about scraped home against Wolves and the Panthers reserves look much better than Wolves’ so Heeps won’t have it all his own way either. The missing KP also played a massive part in that narrow win over Wolves. I think we look vulnerable here tonight and we’re going to need BOTH Harris and Bellego to actually turn up to their home track for once.
  16. Don’t be daft. He apparently fell heavily in his final ride. Got up and won the rerun granted, but benefit of the doubt here surely.
  17. My mistake it’s was today not yesterday https://twitter.com/ipswichspeedway/status/1136340295275225088?s=21
  18. And now RR for KP. Apparently damaged his knee in Poland yesterday.
  19. Allen withdrawn from our meeting this Thursday as he found last night too painful on his shoulder. Can add that to the ifs what’s and maybes re the result
  20. Explains Allen’s subdued performance last night. Wise to take it easy rather than more damage
