Team announced tomorrow apparently
-
Guess we’ll find out next week when the team is revealed. Considering Louis was quoted in this weeks star saying two changes to the original team and Covatti and Allen we know are ruled out, I’d guess Klindt is still in? Bit of uncertainty as to when those comments from Louis were made though. Maybe the two changes were Covatti and Klindt and Allen wasn’t factored in at the time?

Richard Lawson has been left out at Sheffield, so he’s available. -
Just gave that a listen Badge, he pretty much confirmed Crump in the Ipswich team.. Wonder if Danyon Hume could be a possibility to return? Club asset
-
Pretty sure I read an article a couple of weeks ago with Klindt committing himself to the UK and Ipswich. Not sure where I read it though
-
Sorry I don’t mean to keep sounding negative, but if Crump is off the pace which I think he might well be, and he’s partnered with a rider up to 3.9 then that has disaster written all over it. Yes of course we should be glad to see any racing at all and I’m sure people will tell us to be grateful, but it’s still ok to want to be competitive all the same.

In the Speedway Star today, Chris Louis says there will be two changes from the 2020 team. Question is, was it two changes before he knew about Jake Allen missing GB this year, or was he fully aware by the time he gave his comments to the Star? Lets assume the two missing are Allen and Covatti, then we know the team will contain.. 1 Crump 2 ? 3 Heeps 4 King 5 Klindt 6 ? 7 Kemp Can’t find the averages, but I’m guessing looking at that, that we must be looking at a couple of 3 pointers to go with Kemp!? Still believe it’s a big mistake retaining Crump on that daft average. Thought it last year, even more daft this year with this points limit.

Batchelor at Sheffield means Richard Lawson has lost his place there. Wonder if he’ll come back and be a replacement for Allen? Similar average I think. I guess the signing of Batchelor on his average almost certainly ends the Crump to Sheffield rumours.

Team news and season ticket details next week according to Chris Louis.

-
I can’t see either being here personally. We’ll see.
-
Fair enough can’t argue with him at all. You’d have to think Crump amongst others will take the same view.
-
Would be the correct answer if it fits. Sorry but for all the “fairytale” stuff and fanfare of Crump’s comeback last year, he simply has to be the one that makes way.
-
More chance of Nelson getting his eye back than Heeps being omitted.
-
Surely he’ll be at 7 for someone else under the “rising star” tag rather than 6 for us??
-
Or maybe Chris has been inspired by Crumpy and decided to give it another bash
-
It’s an interesting one as you’d assume whoever it is is on a hefty average? If he’s the best number 6 in the league. Not doable if Crump is retained on his inflated average at 1. Throws up all sorts of questions! Newcomer on an assessed average perhaps?
-
And that is?
-
Is Chris Holder available to clubs in this country? Maybe we’ll revert to last years plan A? Think he’s on an average just over 6, over two points lower than Crump.
-
Buster only owns two of the remaining six clubs
-
Each to their own.
-
Too bloody right!

Fingers and everything else crossed we can watch some racing in August! I’m sure every other promoter will take exactly the same precautions as Chris Louis has just said he’ll be doing at Ipswich. PPE for staff, socially distancing, hand sanitizing are all perfectly doable to make a couple of hours in the open air watching Speedway no more or less of a risk than most of us will encounter in our day to day lives. Let’s get on with it.

Getting frustrating now with this glorious weather. How good would it be getting to Foxhall tonight? What’s even more frustrating is seeing packed beaches all over the country, being able to drink a pint in a pub next weekend and then go and sit in a Cinema and watch a movie, but not able to watch Speedway outdoors! The 2 meters rule being reduced to 1(plus) would surely make it even easier for the majority if not all clubs to implement social distancing in Stadiums?

I certainly won’t be standing there for a couple of hours with a face mask on either. I love a bit of Speedway but not that much.
