Well the forum has died a death unsurprisingly with little to discuss now all teams are settled. Have I missed any? These are the ones that all of us Witches of a certain age remember fondly that will probably always instantly remind us of the Speedway if and when it comes on the radio. Itâs amazing how music can invoke memories of things we love in all walks of life whether that be people, sport or incidents in our lives, or sometimes unfortunately remind us of not so good times. Are there songs other than these that are more personal to people, that will always remind them of Speedway? Maybe a song you always listen to in the car on the way to the track etc

Premiership 2025 Predictions
Arch Stanton replied to TheSmiler's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Last two seasonâs for Sheffield and Ipswich respectively 7+1 9+1 10+1 9+2 7+1 For a rider in the 5-6 average bracket none of that can be classed as âwoefulâ for an away rider. That has to be one of if not the best of his away tracks. Heâs the 5th averaged rider in our team which shows the strength of the side. If he scores in a similar fashion this year with the four above him likely to score more, then Lynn wonât be getting a sniff of a victory home or away đ -

The AFA along with Leicester, are the two tracks Iâm personally most confident of winning away at. Nearly all our riders enjoy riding those two tracks, even the âlesserâ riders. King and Ellis can be inconsistent on the road, but they both win races at the AFA in particular. -

No such thing as a âgivenâ in this sport. Ipswich were the best side in the league last year all being equal, and it wasnât even close really. But everyone knows what happened. If Emil had been injured sooner than he did, then Ipswich wouldnât have even made the play offs. We/they were top at the time of his crash at Sheffield, but then lost the last 11 or 12 meetings I think it was in league and cup which gifted (yes gifted whether they like it or not) the KOC to Sheffield and the League to Belle Vue. The three top clubs who again look the strongest, may have the best top end, but they also have riders that are Elite because of the way they ride and the risks they take to win races. Doyle in particular, is one rider that is quite unique over here. Heâll treat heat 1 at Foxhall for a run of the mill league meeting, like a GP final. If he loses which he sees as his backyard, youâll see him park his bike at the pit gate, rip out his cut out and storm back to the pits and slam his helmet down in his pit bay. He hates losing any heat, anywhere but particularly at Foxhall. Thatâs why he ends up with a 11+ average at Home. But with that, carries extra risk obviously. The teams that start the season in most cases, will look nothing like the teams that take to track in September. Either through injury, or strategic team changes. An awful lot of luck is involved in this sport, which means sometimes the winners are the luckiest, rather than the best. That applies to those that like a flutter as well. Little to no value in betting on the usual suspects, have a couple of quid on an outsider. -

I think they have a chance personally. Fourth spot looks quite open and itâs all about getting there then anything can happen. You could end facing one of the favourites who are stricken with injury. -

Sadly it works like a charm! Stop replying to him/her people for crying out loud. Youâre giving them the oxygen that they crave. -

Love a Bank Holiday afternoon meeting. Donât always produce the best of racing strip particularly in the summer but the extra numbers and atmosphere make it a great occasion. Looking forward to the East Anglian derby on May bank Holiday. Lynn having a more competitive side this year will add to the interest. Will be a bumper Foxhall crowd thatâs for sure. -
Eh? Youâre making no sense whatsoever. Let me make it a little simpler for you as you appear to be struggling. Chris Harris himself released a statement saying that he wasnât in Oxfordâs plans. Thatâs the factual part. Now the rest of his statement is open to debate. My personal point of view, is he didnât seem to have taken the news particularly well and was happy riding for the club. Of course I donât know that and could be wrong there. But if it was a mutual decision or he himself wanted to move, then it was a very strange statement to make. But again, I have no idea as to Oxfordâs reasoning for not wanting Harris this year, and quite frankly I donât particularly care. The only fact we know, is that Harris wasnât in Oxfordâs plans because the rider himself said so.
-
Iâve missed nothing and itâs totally irrelevant as to the reasons of him not being in Oxfordâs team in 2025. I was responding to a post that said maybe Harris didnât want to ride for Oxford anymore, and that clearly isnât the case whichever way you want to spin it. He was informed he wasnât in the plans this year, the reasons why they decided that is completely irrelevant.
-
But weâve literally heard his havenât we. He was told he wasnât in Oxfordâs plans and didnât seem particularly pleased about it. Pretty weird statement to make if he left of his own desire.
-
Harris himself gave a statement in October saying he wasnât in Oxfordâs plans and didnât seem to be exactly pleased about it either. https://watch.britishspeedway.co.uk/articles/bombed-out

Excellent signing IMO.
-
Itâs very close to being a team that will challenge for a play off spot and it probably would have if theyâd managed to use all the points available for the last signing. Iâd guess the uncertainty early on cost them options and left them behind the others in terms of planning. Theyâve done very well considering, but it must be frustrating to be so close to an even stronger team that could challenge.
-
Well thatâs turned out better than most expected. Thatâs a competitive side and will be a tough nut to crack on their own track. Might be found wanting away a little bit, but at home that team will win most of their meetings once they get dialled in.
-
Think people need to watch the incident again. He may well have broken his footrest, but that wasnât what caused him to fall. He was simply being chucked all over the place by riding through the high dirt pile by the fence.
-
Iâm not convinced of that. Time will tell.

2025 Australian Speedway Championships
Arch Stanton replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
This looked the weakest part of his game the first season he was here, his gating was generally awful. But that improved considerably last season. The only downside for me with this years Witches team. Would have loved to have kept him in the side, super talent. -
The only question mark around the inclusion of King was his fitness. Now itâs been updated heâs had successful surgery and is on course to be 100% fit by March, then heâs absolutely worth his place in the team. One had to go from King, Ellis and Rew, a fit Danny King is better than both of them currently. Some wonât like to admit that, but the stats donât lie.

That was the plan but is now unlikely according to Adams in this weeks Star. Theyâve had a couple of âsetbacksâ and he now concedes theyâre likely to come in under the limit more than the other clubs.
