The year Smith was with Swindon he ended up with a National league average of 8.41 Rowe joins you on a National league average of 8.37 and in my opinion in a weaker national league than 2018 so no theres not a lot of difference in the 2 when they signed for Swindon.

Inc minus 2.5% for British riders i think my maths are right ? Kurtz 7.54 Wright or Worrall 6.52 or 5.54 Tungate 6.59 Bewley 6.16 Holder 7.49 Lidsey 5.16 leaving 3.02 or 4.04 depending who is at number 2 Good solid team and not to pie in the sky.Tungate/Bewley and Worrall all dropped their averages last year so all are capable of improving and Lidsey should keep on improving next season plus one good reserve all the time.

Great news bring on the local derby.Makes me even more keen to visit Shefield in the league after all these years can't wait.

Every sport has its short comings look at the number one sport football. The money clubs more than not are the teams that win the league.More than half the clubs have no chance even before the season starts so not a fair competition is it.Its one of the the reasons I walked away from the sport(and no I don't go on football forums anymore). You can pull any sport apart if you can be bothered. I do know speedway has a lot of problems and that's why I started a thread for fans/ex fans to whinge about them instead of them popping up on other threads where people want to read about the title of the thread and not be bombarded with whinges. Now there's a thread if you want to whinge or read about peoples' whinges they have a thread to go to and get what it says on the tin.
-
No no Moxey its not your thread, The intention of the thread is that people can come on here to whinge without disrupting speedway threads. You can whinge about speedway and people can come on here and whinge about you and others whinging about speedway. So as long as its a whinge relating to British speedway/fans/ex fans/rules/promoters etc all are welcome.
-
There you go people a thread just for you.Whinge away and leave the other threads to people who still like and enjoy talking about the sport. You have helped drive a good few away from this forum so let us please keep the ones we have left. Thanks in advance I live in hope (well at least until the first reply).

Oop's I will come back later in hope that someone wants to talk about speedway.

You might not agree with my opinions. But I bet you I am right that a 46.34 team average has no chance.P/boroughs case shows to me that not all teams can afford to sign the better missing riders. Also could Ipswich have afforded NKI for a full season who knows and if he was up for a full season why did he not sign for Kings lynn at the start of the season
-
And you are just saying lets put the team average up to 46.34 just like that.Have you tried to put another six competitive teams together to see with the riders available its possible. If you can do that and prove to me its possible with realistic riders then you might change my mind. But just keep in mind last year Peterborough could not find one willing heat leader to replace Cook they ended up with Summers and left the team 3 points under the limit from the start of the season leaving themselves with no chance. If there are all these riders ready to ride for the money on offer to strengthen up the British league you would have thought that P/borough could have found at least one.
-
Re points limit back in the day when almost all the riders rode here I would be all for it as every club would be able to reach the new points limit. But today with the limited riders wanting to ride here no chance there would be some very weak teams which would leave us with boring uneven meetings and a boring uneven league.Theres already talk of riders giving our league a miss next year ie Fricke, Covatti etc so how the hell do all the teams build to a 46 + average.Only my opinion but I honestly can't see how it can be done.

To me the new TV deal puts some money into the sport which should help struggling clubs to keep their club running. The sport cannot survive if clubs keep closing so if the TV money keeps their doors open I don't have a problem with watching a lower quality coverage after all its the racing I watch it for and not all the glits that goes with it and perhaps a few less cameras will stop all the switching about where you tend to miss important parts of the race. Any TV coverage is extra to me the important thing is to be able to watch live speedway. TV speedway is not a patch on watching the real thing. When I watch a recording of a meeting I have just been to I am always a little disappointed as it just does not seem to capture what I have just witnessed live.

You mean like better run sports like footballs Premier league where any team can sign whoever they like and as it stands Liverpool have 28 points and Watford have 5. Any league system usually has a big difference in points scored between the top and bottom teams. At least in speedway all teams on paper start the season even and its down to the manager to be savvy enough to sign a team of improvers and riders that can score points home and away to gain points on the road and that's what will bring you success whatever the points limit is. Where in football the sign whoever you like system usually means money buys you success. In my opinion speedways system if far fairer for all the clubs in the league than football will ever be.

You can open your shop on the best days for trade and sell the finest stock but if your till staff and the staff that fill the shelves chose to go and work at their much better paid second/third job on these days your shop will not be open long will it.Yes you can sack the lot of them and get fresh staff in but its not that easy for a speedway club a lot of the riders and not just the top riders have already chosen to just ride for their second /third club and left the lower paid British league behind. If clubs insist on riding on days that clash the ones that are left(with the option) will chose to ride where they get paid the most money(and the league could lose them as well) just like your staff would if they had the option. It must be very hard for an employer when there are limited staff and your the worst payer in town.Who would be a British speedway promoter hay.

13 hours since the last post this thread is drying up a little time to start a new thread under another name for the same old sad ex speedway fans to go over and over the same old reasons why British speedway is crap these days.If you got fed up with speedway.then after all this time you must be getting sick of posting the same old crap over and over. Every new thread is like reading the last one for your own sake's please find something you enjoy doing and move on and leave a speedway forum to those who still have an interest in the sport.

The way to strengthen teams in our league is savvy management by spotting and signing up and coming riders on low averages who then go on to improve their averages. These riders then go on to be the leagues stars replacing riders like Nicholls,Harris and Andersen who's age is catching them up a little, Swindon have shown us how to do this twice by signing Musielak and Jenssen who have been a major factor in two of Swindons league titles. There will always be up and coming stars the secret is spotting them early and getting them signed up before anyone else this is where a good manager is worth his weight in gold.To me watching an up and coming rider shine gives me more of a buzz than the club signing an over priced super star who can often leave you disappointed.
-
Where do all these riders come from for teams to strengthen up to match Swindons average. The only eg I have is that at the start of this season Peterborough lost Cook and he was replaced by Arron Summers which left them 3 points under the limit which caused a lot of fans to be major pd off and condemned them to the wooden spoon before the season started. Now Cook must be amongst the higher paid riders in our Prem league so if Peterborough could not find from all the riders in Europe 1 replacement for Cook with the higher prem league money that was on offer what chance has every other team finding riders to strengthen up to match Swindons average.A few of the better off clubs might be able to match it by signing the better riders that ride here now but that would leave a good few teams with the riders that are left and would be well under the limit which would lead to a very unbalanced league only my opinion but if anyone can tell me how we can get all these riders to come over without breaking the bank I am all ears.
-
There are 27 ish riders doubling up at this time so that's 27 riders one big/split league will be short. most of these riders I would think will have to come from the National league as most of the lower order European riders were not interested this year with the money on offer let alone even less money in a even more cut price league. Do you realise how weak and imbalanced these teams would be.Most of the Championship teams had 2 National league standard riders in their team this year so to replace the said 27 a good few teams could end up with 3.The likes of Doyle/Fricke etc riding against National league and lower order Championship riders would be a joke I just cannot see it ever happening but if it does its not something that after 47 years being a speedway fan I would want to spend my money on.
-
People seem to think that the top riders would massively improve our league and that most of the riders that still ride here are not that good. I have just looked at a Nielsen's results since his return and the riders that have beaten him. Kurtz 6 times. Holder 5 times. Klindt 4 times. Jonnasson and Covatti 2 times. Doyle Batchelor Grajconek Team mates King 3 times Heeps 2 times Harris I would love to see a lot of them return but in reality would there return improve the quality of racing that much most of the riders still riding here ride BRITISH tracks very well and a lot of them would still beat the top riders on a regular basis over here (different story in Poland etc).We all seem to link great racing to riders names but over the season I have seen some awesome racing this year at the NSS so is this really the case would there return improve the racing that much? maybe a little but not as much as it would in peoples minds. Big decisions in November.
B.V 72 replied to Sidney the robin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
So if Ipswich win this year every team bar P/borough have to aspire to drop there team limit to 41.43 for next season ?. -
There's talk that Bjerre will not be at Belle vue next year so does Buster still think that Bjerre is not a Premier league heat leader.will he pay him heat leader wages ?.
-
That will be the team in November/December when season tickets go on sale but will be a very different team come the start of the season.

In this case give me Monday and the second leg at home and a match that you know what you have to do to win..I hate first legs at home in a normal league match you can enjoy and go home happy with just a close score win but in a two legged match a close win is just not enougth you don't go home happy unless you have battered a team and go home with a good lead to take to the second leg.Belle vue finished above Kent so I would think would have had the choice of the second leg at home I think a meeting where you can see a result is a bigger draw for fans than the first leg or is that just me.

Belle Vue v King's Lynn 26/08/19
B.V 72 replied to Bald Bloke's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Did they let Buster prepare the track. That was one of the poorest meeting I have seen at the NSS and i have seen all of them. -
Buster should have told Harris he's no longer a heat leader in this league and not Bjerre.
