  1. All a bit of a puzzle really Woffinden and 6 other G P riders say the Elite league is all to much. Not all confirmed but it looks like the other 8 Jonsson,Harris Holder;Zagar,Batchelor,Iversen,Doyle and Janowski are all showing an interest in riding in the Elite league next year.Ward and Bjere also rode in the G Ps last year and also did the Elite league. So it looks like a good few of them don't think its all to much. Its a bit like most of us at work some want the overtime others either don't or can't hack it.The big difference is we dont get 5 months off every year to get over the overtime lol.
  2. The key to Bates having a good season is if Adams can stop him punching walls
  3. Yes i thought that re Nielsen and i am over the moon with our pairing. As Belle vue fans we all saw that Nielsen on the whole had the better of all the other riders picked in the 2nd round draft. But i can see why the other promoters did not go for him as they did not see how well he rode at Kirky lane every week. They will have gone off his form in the National league.Every rider in the 2nd draft bar Ellis rode in the National league and every one of them bar Bates finished on a higher average than Nielsen. So i think that is the reason(to our joy)he was left for us to pick.
  4. Prediction time Poole Newman/Rose or sargent. If not one of those two Poole will still end up with one of the strongest pairs this year, seeing as the top team from last season should get last pick this makes the draft system the way it is done look a little silly.
  5. If thats the order i m o its b/s you should work out an average from the league that they race in and only use the N L averages to work out where the new riders fit in. ie Newman was one of the best draft riders in the Elite league but for some reason did not do as well in the Prem league so how can you use his Prem league form to judge how he did in the Elite league.
  6. Fixture list done already now theres a problem I M O with so many doubleing up/down riders missing so many meetings you would think that they would do the fixture list after they know who is riding for who,and then in hope they could try and avoid alot of Elite and Prem league clashes when a rider rides for both clubs. After all its one of the main reasons that P fans off.ie last year Cook missed both Eastbourne away meeting because he was riding for Edinburgh at a Premier club who races on a Sat night with a little fore thought they could have moved said matches when Edinburgh and Eastbourne did not clash.
  7. I did say Andersen or a simular points averaged rider. But having a re think if they are going to sign a higher point averaged rider at no1 ie Jonsson who had a 9.66 average the last time he rode over here it makes a lot more sence of Garitty being in the 1 to 5.
  8. If he is happy to stay why would they do that Phil when they can have him in the team anyway at reserve where he will score big points and he can replace any out of form rider when they need him to.Plus this will then give them last pick in the 1st round draft. If they keep Andersen or a simular point averaged rider +Harris and Woodward their combined average is 22.14.Which leaves 11.86 for their last 2 riders.I think Garrity would come in on about 3.70 which then leaves them 8.26 left.Even if they sign a rider on a 6.99 average they will have wasted 1.17 of a point and have a reserve that won't score half as many points. This is just the way i look at it but stranger things have happened so who knows.
  9. Must have missed that where does it say that if you protect a 2nd round draft rider you lose your place in the 1st round draft.
  10. Just a thought.Whats stopping Belle vue protecting Nielsen and letting Swindon have Worrall and then picking Garrity (If Leicester dont). No FTD rider rides Kirky lane better than Garrity does ?.Lots of food for thought i think we will just have to wait untill tomorrow. Or you could say that he is happy to be in the draft and be an open pick for everyone. Its just that he does not want to be a protected rider. That is if the rumour is true in the first place.
  11. Like i said(i think i am right in saying) i don't know if i am honest.but if he is and they pick Garrity before him it will kinda prove my point
  12. This news report is from September when Cook signed to ride for Stal gorzow for 2 meetings if needed in the play Polish play offs he never rode. Cookie tweeted at the time that the report of him signing for 2015 was b/s he had signed no such deal for 2015.
  13. Unless you like the look of all 10 it could be a gamble with you having 7th pick. But having watch Rose every week and you feel he can really kick on next year i would agree with you because all 10 riders in the 1st draft will hold their own in my opinion far better than last year. I am of the same mind i think we should keep Nielsen from the 2nd draft and with us having 2nd pick after taking out the protected riders there are still going to be some quality riders left to chose from in the 1st draft.
  14. Like i said i don't think it is about the money its about the number of meetings and all the different race nights that put them off. Woffinden and Kildemand have stated this as the reason they may not return. The BSPA do want the G P or ex G P riders to return because even if the 10 remaining 7+ average riders from this season return next year the league is still short of 6 riders on a 7+ average to give every Elite team two 7+ riders and the way its looking a few teams may start with one.
  15. I would think if Cookie does not get a place in Poland or Sweden then there is no chance that he will just ride the Elite league and drop the earnings from 30+ Premier league meetings next year be it for Edinburgh or one of the many teams that would love to sign him. I would love Cookie to stay with us.But i do hope he gets a team place in Europe(of which he seems to be finding it hard to do from all reports) and drops the Premier league its what he needs to kick on be it with Belle vue or Leicester
  16. If Lewis and rose were both in the 2nd tier of the draft system would you still have the same attitude and pick them both and have little chance of reaching the play offs or would you let one go and choose 1 from the 1st draft and have a chance of some team success. Like Coventry this year i think i am right in saying that they have three assets in the 2nd tier but no 1st draft assets are you saying they should pick two second tier riders because they are their assets even though say without Garrity they would find it much harder to reach the play offs. What team will bring more fans through the gates a play off team or a team with 2 local youngsers in it with more chance of finishing in the lower end of the table.
  17. I thought like that when he came to Belle vue last year but he had a really good year(hope he is back next year)You are right he is not the rider he once was but then again in the majority he is not riding against the same class of riders he once was.
  18. I would think rather than it be a money reason. The rule will have been brought in to try and give every club a chance of fielding a competative side seeing as there were only 14 riders from last year that ended up with a 7+ average. With the possiblity that Woffinden.Pedersen Kildemand and piotr Pawlicki wont be back next season that leaves 10 so i just hope a few of the missing riders this year will come back for next year.
  19. just a reasonable question. There is a lot of speculation that Cookie will be riding at Leicester next season. I assume that he will be back at Edinburgh. If this is the case there are 3 clubs in the Premier league that ride on a Saturday night 2 of them are in the same L C group as Edinburgh so thats 5 Saturday nights that he could be missing.I don;t know if this is fact but i have read that Leicester want Friday as their alternative race night if so Edinburgh ride on Fridays so Cookie could miss most of your Friday home meetings.Plus Coventry and Lakeside ride on Fridays so he could miss 4 away meetings as well. So do you think that your promoter can work round this or is Cookie a no no ?.
  20. With the protected rider rule in place allowing the top team from last season first pick, second place second pick etc in the second round makes the whole draft system a joke.It makes more sense to keep it like last year where your second pick is decided on the position of your first pick in the first round draw. How can a system that allows the top 3 teams from last year to keep 3 of last years top 4 riders, and then go on to have the first three picks in the second draw sorry but i think its compleat bullsh#t. Thanks penny just seen your post this makes way more sense than the report that Link sport printed.
  21. Promote all you like but it is a fact that most of the top riders plus a lot of other riders no longer want to ride in the U K to many meetings to many different race nights etc,and if the best promoters in the league can't keep Holder over here what chance do the rest have.
  22. The rumour re Cook joining Leicester. If he stays in the Premier league i just can't see this happening there seems to be quite a few Premier teams that run on a Saturday night and they look to have more fixtures than the Elite league and it looks like they run on average once a week.So with Leicester running on Saturdays there would be to many fixture clashes where he would be missing.I have also read that Leicester would like Fridays as their alternative night if this happens then there is no chance with Cook riding for Edinburgh a Friday night track.
