Sheffield Vs Scunthorpe Lc 26/03/2015
B.V 72 replied to Tigerish's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Came over for a look last night be it against a poor Scunthorpe side but i think that Sheffield are in for a very good season. They looked strong right through the team.Steady will take some beating round there(hope he can bring some of this form with him when he rides for us) and Compton looks to have come back as good as ever.Bellego and Birks love the place,Proctor does not seem to be the rider he was but looks like he can still score well every week(if he can get back to where he was then bingo) and Bates looks like a very strong reserve and will score plenty of points.Sissis made a good few mistakes but was mostly on the pace i think he has the talent to improve all he needs is plenty of laps and the fans patience this team is good enougth to carry him for a while.Best of luck for the season its about time for both our teams to be back up there. -
Any Aces fans who would like to see how Cookie rode in his first match in Poland. On the Ebinburgh thread Mr Blobby post number 731 has posted a u tube link to the meeting.(Thanks Mr Bobby hope you dont mind me passing this on as i am not savvy enougth to post the link myself on here.)

Great news really happy for all Swindon fans its a great feeling knowing that your club has a bright future with all the tales of woe over the last few years.
-
We are down to 8 teams which is just about enougth to run a viable league.I have also heard that 8 is the minimum number for a sky contract so we should all hope and pray that every Elite league club has a good financial year.
-
Just my way folks i put £5 a week in a pot all year round and it pays for my £213.00 season ticket prog inc and my parking and i don;t even miss it.

If You Could Bring Back One Rider...
B.V 72 replied to TonyMac's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Its all about opinions the following quote is from a man who raced him on the track and not just watched from the stands. After Wilkies crash Barry Briggs said"Alan was a fine opponent.hard as nails, very strong but very fair. You always knew he would leave you enougth room-just." -

Alan Wilkinson for his true grit and determination and to teach a good few of todays riders the meaning of passion and loyalty to your speedway club.Never the best speedway rider but i m o you will never find a better captain and team rider he put his heart and sole into every race and never gave up till the race was over. His passion for his club also got him into a few scrapes off the track at a few meetings all of which added a little bit more to a good night at the speedway. -
What The Visa Issues Could Mean For Teams.
B.V 72 replied to doners1234's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
As long as E U riders can ride here with no problems this visa rubbish will not find many British riders a team place and it will be very harmful to British speedway.Hardly any British riders will gain from it as at this time sadly not many of them are good enougth to replace the Aussies and Americans that might be missing. All it will do is fill the leagues with 2nd rate E U riders who would otherwise not have got a team place. The other sad thing about all this is that the Aussies are very loyal to the British leagues while a lot of the E U riders are not (more so in the Elite league).I just hope that the clubs get their fingers out and sort out any problems that there are, and it all gets sorted out soon and that we dont loose to many riders speedway has enougth problems all ready. -
I presume you won't be going next year because you are not happy with the team this year, but i think even if fans think their team is not very strong this season that they should still turn up and give them their support so that they are still around to be stronger next season. If enougth supporters think the same they could sadly end up like Eastbourne and Birmingham. If enougth Belle vue supporters had not remained loyal after 8 bad seasons there would be no club left to move into the new stadium next year. if it is for any other reason then i appologise in advance.

I would think that Rico's family will be very greatful when they receive the money that the good fans of Coventry and Leicester have donated to the cause. I would think that any fan who feels they want to pay their respect in person will attend the Lakeside meeting and will give this meeting a miss.I also think that with the collection taken at this meeting the final total for this good cause will be a lot higher than it would be just running the Lakeside meeting. So i m o i can't see a problem.
-
Agree Matt now the preasure of being a number one has gone all the above problems you mention in your post no longer happen. My post was about holding grudges not about number ones.As i said the grudges will soon be fogotten as long as he does not ride like a donkey.
-
You can't hold grudges with riders the way they move around so much these days. Some Belle vue fans had a problem with Scott Nicholls because of an incident that happened a few years ago.But after a few meeting fans saw a great racer on the track a great team man and a rider who had time for the fans now they all love him.A M will be fine and after the first meeting all will be forgot.(unless he rides like a donkey). I know some Swindon fans were not to happy with Nicholls when he rode for you.The truth is he is no longer a number one but he is a great second heat leader that seems to love the Kirky lane track and does a fine job for us.

Looking Back On The Elite League
B.V 72 replied to weatherwatcher's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Always makes me smile when people say Elite teams would struggle against Premier teams.I always think back to when Belle vue went to league champs Edinburgh with an awful Elite league team(far worse than any line up i have seen this year P Hougaard(5.64 and J Wright(4.99)rode as our 2nd and 3rd heatleaders.) in the so called promotion/relegation play offs and the score was Edin 21 B/vue 68. -
Thank you Oliver the written word can be taken in many ways.
-
No sorry but it is your interpretation of the post that is in poor taste. There was no mallice intended at all.All i was stateing is that they are both prone to injuries as you have stated(re Adam) yourself in your own post.I realy hope that both Holder and Roynon have an injury free season(as i do all riders) they are both due one.
-
Sad to say he is becoming a high risk signing with all the injurys he has had lately he must be close to being on a parr with Roynon these days.
-
That rules out Kolodziej because he is very small.
-
Happy new year to all aces fans and a big happy new year to our promoters for giving us a speedway future to look forward to.
-
Now Holders defo gone like i said 7 days later and not one post lol.
-
Call yourself a Poole fan i bet you will be back later on in the season when the ringers turn up. ,
-
Yet 7 other G P riders think it will be fine.As did Ward and Bjerre last year. While i am posting, don't get me wrong he has done wrong and deserves to be punished, and he has got a lot of stick for it but i will say one good thing about Ward he has stayed loyal to British speedway and that gets a big thumbs up from me.
-
Did he think that the British promoters had got it wrong for the last 6 years while learning his craft with Wolverhamton.
-
Starman if it were not for the Holders link with Poole would you be on this thread and would you even give a dam about the 7 point rule ?.
-
Saywhatyouknowov.
-
Well if he can't get a team place in Poland it shows a lack of ambition to me.
