Swindon 2016 - A New Era Starts...we Thought..
B.V 72 replied to dump that clutch's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I was just talking about Swindon in my post but yes i agree with you a good few other teams will be able to fit him in as a second string.Along the same thought line i am expecting to see D Watt in the Poole team if as everyone agrees Buzz is a heat leader. -
Good god man its not about the option of watching speedway on telly or watching it live or the price, yes i know i have those options.I have already bought my season ticket and am looking at the best price options to have speedway on my tv i also had a few beers while doing it.But what i am saying is that after next year i and all the other fans of British speedway wont have many options to watch our patriotic British world champion live in the flesh in England as he has dropped his own country to ride in Europe.
-
You have missed my point its not about B T sport or money its about the fact that after next year at Belle vue unless i travel to Cardiff there is a good chance i my never see our patriotic British world champion ride again unless i see him on tv.I know there are a lot of other riders i may not see again but they are not British. Question whats the difference between Tai Woffinden and an Australian. Answer Most Australians are loyal to British speedway.

If Swindon choose to have Zengi 7.79 in the team it does not matter if he is classed as a heat leader or not as you can't have him and fit another 2 heat leaders in the team having already signed Doyle 9.44 Sedgman 4.70 the two res combined 7.13 leaves you with 11.44 to play with. -
It would seem it was Garritys choice to move up into the 1 to 5 team spot, and yes they could both move up or down depending on there averages
-
If you dont fancy the extra 6 meetings remember you can pay at the gate for the 14 Elite league meetings and it will cost you 50p less per meeting to stand up than it was last year. Not many fans of other clubs will be able to say this year is cheaper than last year.
-
The prices PTA has stated are for 20 meetings and play off semi if we get there.
-
If North held down a heat leader spot for 24 meetings in a strong Poole team then i would think that the powers that be will have him on the heatleader list. Also taking into account that the league looks like it will be lot weaker next season but time will tell,as always the fans get to know sod all until it happens.

Make your own minds up Buzz rode for Peterborougn in 2013 and finished on a 7.33 average. In 2014 he rode 8 meetings for Leicester in the no5 spot. -

With Nick and Zengi back in the team you would have 4.74 for your last rider. -
Soz not very well worded.I mean't to say Leicester with Zengot,Batchelor,Watt and Wozniak plus there two stronger reserves could end up being a better side than Swindon. It all depends on who they sign to ride with Doyle and as Leicester know very well a good number 1 is no good at all if the rest of the team lets him down. To add imo that team in a weaker league looks a more balanced Leicesrer team than the one they had this year.
-
With their good reserves i think that could end up being a better team than a top heavy Swindon side.Doyle on his own did not do Leicester much good last year did he.
-
Could you point out where you have seen this rule would like a look myself.

As a Belle vue fan i am sorry to loose Stefan he has been a good steady reserve for us over the last 2 seasons and imo is still improving.Best of luck Stefan. -
Watt could be classed as a 2nd string 7.19 who knows but he fits.

At first i liked the idea of the draft it would give young British riders a chance to improve(that side of it i still like)But sadly with protected riders and random rule changes it has gone very wrong. It is now a massive factor in whether a team can win the league or not.Right from the start of the season fans know if their team has had a poor draft pick they have little chance of winning the league. In the past fans could hope that team changes could make a difference as the season goes on but now they know a draft pick change will make little difference. Lets look ahead to next season all within the rules but Poole have had a great draft pick.Down to good management we all know that Poole will put together a great 1 to 5.Every promoter in the league has a chance to work their socks off and sign a 1 to 5 just as good as Pooles but we all know if they have had a poor draft choice they are wasting their time because in most cases reserves win meetings. We all want to beat Poole its part of the buzz to beat the top team but at the momment the way the draft has worked out it will be harder than ever and because of their draft picks a lot ot teams from the off will know they have no chance.
-
I agree the use of their Elite league averages would seem unrealistic. I dont even know how they have worked out their draft list positions for the last 2 years but looking at the last green sheet list it seems to give a more realistic account of their Elite league performances than their Prem league average does.
-
Can anyone give me a reason why all of a sudden the BSPA decided to use Prem league averages to work out a riders position on the draft list instead of the system they have used for the last 2 years. The only changes were Garrity and Birks. There would have been no arguments with Howarth taking over the top spot vacated by Garrity and Sargent being in top spot in tier 2 on the last green sheet moving up to replace Birks. So i can see no reason why they had to change.Looking at the last green sheet the riders positions on that list would have given a much fairer 1st draft pick.So i can see no valid reason why they had to change it. Second question if they used the riders prem averages why was Sargent moved up to tier 1 when Starke who stayed in tier 2 had a 1 point higher average in the Prem league none of it makes much sence to me.

This is not a gripe or a moan and Poole won fair and square.(and it will not stop me going)I am just trying to give an example why fans get p/d off. Facts Pooles reserves are a big reason why they finished top of the league.Pooles reserves won them the play off final out scoring Belle vues reserves by 29 to 10 over the 2 legs Now the so called rules of the FT system any team who has a reserve that proves himself to be one of the best performers in the Elite league(be it right or be it wrong its the rule) get penalised the following year by having a lower 2nd draft pick.I would think the idea behind this is to give every club a fair chance of some success. Now the part that ps people off starts.Remember just using the to 2 clubs as an example other clubs will have their own problems with the draft. By keeping the same draft rules that have been in affect all year due to their Elite league performances Newman was placed 2nd and Worrall 5th on the draft list(both teams choose to protect their assets in the 1st round draft) so Poole get 7th pick and Belle vue get 4th pick of the 2nd tier draft riders no one has a problem with that because they have been the rules all season. Now the problem starts they decide that the old rules are out and decide to use Prem league averages for the draft list positions. What this does is that it now places Worrall at no 2 and Newman drops to no 6 now giving Poole 2nd pick and Belle vue 7th pick this now gives Poole Ellis and Belle vue waiting to pick a much lower ranked rider and now that all team members count in the teams averages it also gives poole 0.72 more than Belle vue for top 5 team building. So this goes against all the previous rules of the draft system which was to try and keep teams even having seen what Pooles reserve did against Belle vues in the final it now makes Poole even stronger and Belle vue weaker. Now looking at this as a speedway fan and not a Poole fan can you see why people get a little p/d off with the powers that be in the sport.
-
One would think that we are returning to the old heat format with no protected heats(apart from heat 2 )Because you cant move a rider into the 1 to 5 with a false average gained from protected heats.I just wish they would release more details as to what is happening with our sport next year.

Dont know but Kyle Newman is the man to ask about how many insects get in your eyes
