  1. BREAKING NEWS. Belle vue have signed Coco the clown in order to join the play off circus. He has been assesed on a 7 point average Belle vue are aware that this average my be a little controversial and may make the plays offs seem like a bit of a joke. But we dont give a $hit we just want to win.
  2. If King at anytime rides against us in the play offs if possible keep grading the track to stop a build up of dirt on the outside if we can do that i m o he won't score half as many points.
  3. The play offs started in 2002 so not inc this year as no stats yet 14 years.6 teams who finished top of the league have not gone on to win the play offs. Re teams finishing 3/4 for the first 7 years (for 2 of those years 5 teams qualified for the play offs the team who finished top of the league were seeded straight to the final) the semis were higher placed teams had just an home leg no away leg so a big advantage for finishing in the higher league position.Over these 7 years no lower placed team ever reached the final. In 2009 the home and away semis started but for this year only the league winners were given a 8 point start and 2nd place a 4 point start for the semis the top 2 placed teams in the league reached the final. So from 2010 to 2015 when it was home and away semis with no advantage teams that have finished 3/4 in the league have reached the final 4 times and a team who have finished 4th have won it twice.(from my memory this period was when some teams if needed started to use tactics to change there teams for the play offs.)In the early years no changes were allowed not even for injurys you had to use r/r.
  4. Steve let them have him on a 7.The way to look at it is you got woffie on a 7.03 ave based on a p poor season 2 years ago when he way under performed and did not want to be there and could not be bothered and ended up with a false p/poor average. When today he is clearly good enougth to warrent an 8 as a GP rider but he is not he is a 7.03.So looking at it from that point of view and just based on their ability today Woffie is slightly better so if he is worth a 7.03 average Dudek is on a 7 anything more is just plain wrong and not keeping within the fair rules of the play offs.
  5. I to am one of the old school and there is no way that anyone can convince me that there is a fairer way to decide the best team in the land than a league. Every team faces each other twice over a full season.Ever team will have good luck bad look injurys riders missing etc but over a season the best consistent team will win and deservingly be crowed champions. But i am a realist and i can see that our sport these days need the play offs as they generate more money for the sport and thats what it needs these days to keep going. So they are here to stay and unwillingly get my support.I am still very much against the rules that allow teams to strengthen up so close to the plays offs injurys accepted(but not manipulated) i think the play offs should be competed against the same teams that your team have battled to reach a play off position which i think would make the play off rounds much fairer and give a truer reflection of who is the best team over a full season. So yes i will sit back and enjoy the plays offs but if my team does not win i will admit i will feel very pd off and hard done to after watching my team battle all season to be the best team in the league stages yet end up with sod all. Its seems that on here all the Poole fans are for the play offs. But for me the hardest loss to take in all of the play offs was 2010 when Cov beat Poole in the play offs after finishing 20 odd points behind poole in the league. If there is a Poole fan on here who can honestly say that they did not feel robbed and very pd off on that day i will be very suprised.
  6. I agree and would be very short sighted.I M O the club must do there very best to win the title as a league winning side should have more chance of attracting more fans through the gates for next season.Fans will turn up to support a winning side where as in most cases if a team starts to struggle the fans will drop away. Poole are the main example of this win things great support. But from what i have read in 2009 when they struggled the crowds dropped off big time.
  7. I can see why a Belle vue fan would take an interest in the size of the crowd as we all want the club to do well. But all the interest from all the other fans i dont understand its as if they get some delight from a reported low crowd and want the club to fail. The Elite league needs every club it has to survive if a clubs fails it damages the future of the whole league.
  8. Are you insinuating that our local councilors have a liking for rent boys.
  9. Goodness me 4 Colts riders missing.Buxton only having won 1 meeting all season and a dreadful weather forcast.I am a season ticket holder so the meetings paid for but i am sad to say its going through my head to give this one a miss. Will keep my eye to the sky and decide later.
  10. There would be a far bigger crowd for Mondays match with Poole if it was not on tv i m o.If a couple go to Belle vue sit in the grandstand buy 2 progs,parking,drink/snack + petrol its over £60.A lot of fans will stay home and watch it and spend the money on the play off semi's they then get to see both meetings for half the cost a no brainer for a lot of people these days. On a personal note i will be there i am a season ticket holder.I posted on another thread that a good few years ago i used to be able to afford to go to speedway, football, cinema and have a good few nights in the pub every week. But these days leasure and everything else seems to cost a hell of a lot more than it used to so like most people these days i have to pick what i want to do i cannot afford to do it all.In the summer i pick speedway above all others and do other things in the winter. From the crowds all over these days it would seem that a lot of people choose to mix it up and pick out a few speedway meetings they want to attend hence the big crowd difference from match to match. So there are a lot of choices for the leasure £ and people have to choose where they spend it and speedway seems to be a little to low on the list for my liking.
  11. Christ i left this thread yesterday on post 7.I come back on this morning to read what fans thought of the meeting last night i find 3 posts that are speedway related the rest is moan moan and replys to moans. If the BSF is typical of speedway fans these days then no wonder the sport is on its arce.
  12. Missed revenue then for the top team having only one meeting.Which in truth money is what the play offs are all about.
  13. I would like us to change the way 2 teams progress to the final to the same way they use in the Swedish league.Which is a far better way in my opinion. The top 4 teams enter into a mini league where all 4 teams meet each other home and away and the 2 teams who top the mini league then meet in a 2 leg final which decides which team are champions. I think this is a much fairer way as every team is involved. They all meet each other home and away and it keeps the league theme going instead of it turning into a knockout cup type competition.Plus there are more meetings in the play off process for the fans to watch and more meetings that should attrack good crowds bringing more money into the sport which should make the promoters happy.
  14. Ouch Wolves tight track can't be to good for that type of injury. With his Polish club now in the play offs and now the injury i hope that he will not think that the Elite league is getting a little to much and may damage his world title hopes. He may not want to risk burning out.I am sure that Joonas is ready and willing to take his place if this happens. All said tongue in cheek by the way.
  15. I never dream i just see what happens on the night. I have always stated that i feel Poole will just pip us because of their reserves like last year.In our latest 2 meetings with Poole they beat us on agg our top 5 scored more then theirs in both legs but over the 2 legs their reserves well out scored ours.So no dreams. I think that you may meet them 1st in the play offs if you can beat them and if we can beat Swin/Lakeside more so Swindon they like our place to much. Then our 2 teams will meet in the final. Over the season we have beat you in 3 out of 4 matches and twice on agg But now you have brought the ringer in i think you will have a little to much top end strength for us to beat you. So no dreams. So if we get to the final whoever we meet we will just have to see what happens over the 2 legs. But how sweet would winning it be seeing that i never dream't that we would ever do it.
  16. No meeting is standard or comfy at Belle vue we beat Poole but lost to Kings lynn. You just cannot predict who will win or loose you just have to wait and see what happens on the night.Great track and great racing but i don't know if we will ever have much of a home advantage.
  17. Or its just another cock up by the bspa and they have not updated the change.
  18. According to tonights line ups on the update sight Porsing rides at No 2
  19. When i think back i joined this forum because it was a speedway forum. More and more these days i think it may have lost its way a little.
  20. Come on Steve your team scoring 0 in eleven heats was why you lost the meeting.Six of them in the last 8 heats.
  21. To be fair back then i could easily afford go to both speedway and football and have a good few nights in the pub now i can' i have to pick and choose.Leasure seems to cost a lot lot more these days.At the moment i choose speedway above all others but the way it is going i may just turn to drink.
  22. It won't be Milik for Pedersen averages do not fit.Miliks last Elite league average was 6.34 Pedersen is now on 6.06.
