  1. If i was on the council i would do a deal that would be affordable for the new promotion to make speedway work. Its no good to anyone to over price things so that the same thing happens again at the end of next season. To me long term rent that speedway can afford to pay is better than it going ** up again and the council left with a white elephant.People say move another sport into the stadium but the truth is in Manchester other sports that would bring in the needed revenue already have their own stadiums But in truth you are just like me we know sod all its just our opinion we will just have to wait and see. Holder seems to be the rider most people are tipping to go to Kings lynn so if thats the case where is Fricke going to go.
  2. If you have info on a compensation deal between Council and old promotion please tell us more.I think a lot of people would be very interested.
  3. Will the new promotion have any debts though.I would think the depts would belong to the old promotion and not the new. Not that i know anything just like the rest of us and i dont think we will ever find out.I just can't see any new promotion being interested at all if the old depts would be passed on to them. But could it not be that there is an empty stadium.New promoters are interested, Council want income from empty stadium. Both get together council look at their business plan and come up with a new reasonable affordable rent.Council have income from speedway plus money from other uses of their stadium and new promoters just have speedway to worry about both happy that they can make it work sign on the dotted line. If that is the case are they not just like most other promotions in a rented stadium and others can afford big name signings so why cant Belle vue.Good teams bring in the punters poor sides dont its in their best interest to field the best team they can afford and if they think they want and can afford Zagar why not.We as always will have to wait and see.
  4. Depends on who you choose as your number 1 if Peterborough had kept Cook as their number 1 in stead of Holder like you with Doyle i would think that DWD would have been in their 1 to 5 as well with a weaker reserve its all about how you build your team is it not.?
  5. Peterborough should be having the same worries then.
  6. I cant see Holder riding at Belle vue but if he did i would think it would be Fricke in most predicted B/vue teams he would replace so if it did happen it could mean Fricke at your place ?.More food for thought in the silly season. For what its worth thinking long term(i live in hope) for the club i would rather Fricke stay at B/vue.
  7. Everyone seems to be hopeing for Bewley(i was myself) a great prospect i agree but the more i think about it he could be a poor signing. My reason Bewley and shanes both had a good season in the Nat league Bewley averaged 8.65 Shanes averaged 8.56 not a lot of difference in both riders at this stage.Yet Poole will get Shanes on a 2 point average and Belle vue will get Bewley on a 4 point average. Now if B/vue sign as predicted a 2 point number 7 we in reality will end up with the equivalent of two 2 pointers in reserve. So is Bewley going to score twice as many points in every meeting more than Shanes he will have to too prove his worth. I put S Nielsen in his place in my team above not a rider many people rate that much but i looked at last year prem league results when they rode against each other they raced each other 7 times and Nielsen came out on top in every race home and away so is Bewley ready for the top reserve position in our top league ?.
  8. Could he know that the future is one big championship leval league and goodbye to all the big boys is on the cards.Wright at that leval is a good 2nd string.?
  9. All i can go off is that on the official SCB sight in the collum listed team building averages he is down as a 4 no mention of a discount.
  10. Hope your team has already signed but the truth is signed or not the team i mentioned are among the best that are still unsigned/declaired unless you have Holder in the bag. PS i am not sure if you took my post as a dig it was not just looking on the positive side.Seeing as both are clubs are in the same boat.
  11. Bewley is a 4.00 average which takes your team just over sorry to say.
  12. Good few riders still unattached this year you can still build a very competitive side eg. Nilsson Kylmakorpi Wosniak Lawson Auty Davis 2 pointer would do well in this years league plus a good few other riders who would fit in to suite. I m o a better team than last year is still possible in a much weaker league.
  13. Yep i agree not the best team we could have put together. Both the Worralls are on high averages for the riders they are i think we have both agreed in the past that Richie out and Hougaard in would been a better choice. But my thinking with the stated team is purly speculation 5 members of last years team still not signed for other Prem teams with less and less places to fill, and the 2 points that led me to thinking it will be Nielsen and not Bewley are.On the SGB news page Bewley was quoted as saying why i moved to Glasgow. (with potentially riding on a Friday night in the National league.) Not a Friday night club but states a Nat league club. Then i have read that Nielsen posted a picture of himself wearing his Belle vue race suite recently why would he do that could be a clue etc.Like i said just my interpretation in the silly season.
  14. With what riders are not signed yet a few comments and clues i think this could be the Belle vue team time will tell. Cook Fricke S Worrall R Worrall Jacobs S Nielsen Smith.
  15. Just looked at some of your team performances on up dates and you have a team of riders who all ride your track very well.Seeing as all the teams are loaded with last years Prem league riders i think you will be bloody hard to beat round your place.Tungate and Grajczonek ride your place far better than they do Swindon so i can see you winning most if not all your home meetings and if you can do that you will be nowhere near the bottom of the league.
  16. Freddie dose seem intent on replacing Nicki P though when he leaves the GPs.
  17. If he is expect a good few alternate race nights to fit in with the GPs.Our race night was stated before the season as Friday with Zagar in the side plus a few other problems we ran 4 league meetings on a Friday. We seemed to have to run alot on Wed and we lost Fricke on all of them because he Rode in Denmark.Which was crazy as the gates on Fridays seemed to be a lot bigger.
  18. Agree look at Rye house Nicholls,Harris,Watt and Robson all past their best yet people are saying what a good team they have. But in this league i m o they will all do a good job.Plus Anderson is no where near as good as he was yet in this league he will be a top man.He and Nicholls were the only 2 riders that i used to fear when Crump was our no1 they used to beat him on a regular basis round Kirky lane thats how good they both used to be.
  19. Who cares what a few people think Cookie is a rare breed these days.Cookie loves Belle vue with a great passion and Belle vue fans love Cookie He above all other riders is the first name i want to see on the team sheet every year, and i don't think i am alone in thinking this. If the worst thing happens at Belle vue i will be making a good few trips to Workington just to watch him ride.
  20. Thats the whole point of my post people will want some kind of leasure but now they cant have it all they have to chose one or two and that is why speedway attendances are falling people are choosing another. Also i said in my post increased costs not inc riders wages. The same as my household bills go up every year but my wage does not hence less to spend on leasure. Look at the state of a lot of clubs most are close to going to the wall i don't think many are making much profit so any price increase will be needed just to keep them up and running. If we want speedway to survive we will like anything else (if we want it) just have to pay what it costs or like many others just walk away. The truth is speedway in this country is in big trouble full stop the sport has a high running cost but not enougth supporters to cover these costs. Sad days ahead for many clubs i fear. Just a point i stated as everything goes up every year the riders costs to ride will go up every year so if the riders ride for the same money as last season will they not be riding for a smaller wage this comming season ?. Promoters would love to charge £10 just like pub landlords would love to charge £1 a pint but the overheads will not let them both speedway clubs and pubs are going to the wall full stop.
  21. When i started going to speedway in 1972 the adult price for speedway was 30p.It would seem that speedway has had a few price increases over the years like everything else yet every year on here there is a big fuss about it.Costs rise every year for all businesses(not inc riders wages whos running cost will increase every year) and that rise has to be passed on to the customers if it is to keep going its sadly the way of the world. Re the attendance problem i at one time supported the aces and for my sins oldham ath but due to costs i had to give one up i chose to stick with the aces it would seem most in my position chose football/another and that in a nut shell explains now why speedway attendences are so low these days.At one time i could go to football, speedway, cinema and have a good few nights down the pub but now i have to choose one and one night in the pub sad times leasure costs so much these days.
  22. You are still a young man and in my opinion if you want to watch speedway for a long time then you will have to get your head around the fact that developing our own riders is possibly the only way the sport in this country can hope to have a long term future. If the problems at Plymouth B/vue,Coventry,Leicester and Workington in one season do not give you a clue as to what trouble our sport is in nothing will.
  23. Whoever is to blame for this if it is the end what a shameful way for a club with a great history like Coventry to go.The end should have been a massive farewell meeting giving the fans a chance to say goodbye. No way should a club have an end like this totally shameful by all concerned with no consideration for the fans what so ever. I hope this post is a waste of my time and all partys can come to an agreement to run in 2017.
