Belle Vue vs Ipswich play off semi 1st leg
B.V 72 replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
First of all i think that guests/replacements should be allowed for all positions. Teams work hard all season to qualify for the play offs only to be weakened through injury its not fair for the team or there fans who have .spent time and money supporting them all season The play offs are supposed to be an end of the season spectacular for all fans so one or more weakened teams just ruins the whole thing .Many teams over the years have won the title because a better team has been weaken through injury i.m.o its the play offs biggest fault. Anyway the Lambert average thing if you look at last years final average list you will see that Lambert riding for Belle vue has a average of 7.61 an average that he achieved with his last full season with Kings Lynn. For what ever reason they have assessed his average when he came back for this season at 7.81 so having not done enough meetings for a new average he stays on his assessed average of 7.81. -
I might be wrong but these changes make me very happy

Sheffield v Belle Vue 20th July

In that case what do all the top boys who do not ride over here ride in the S O N when held at the N S S .Do they all have a British track rocket ship set up for whenever they might ride in Britain. Also what did Lambert ride at short notice at the end of last season for Belle vue, whatever it was it seemed to be set up for a British track and was rather quick. If he can do it at the end of a season Why after more than half the season is Bewley still struggling to find a bike that works on a British track He has scored double figures 4 times from 10 meetings at the N S S Lambert scored 2 x 15 point maximums in his 2 meetings there. Not having a go at anyone would just like to understand why so many top riders can come over for a one off meeting and do very well whilst your lad and Dan have struggled in a good few meetings this season.Plus what is Emil riding first time over here for years and he is killing it. -
King’s Lynn v Sheffield 01/06/23

That is a big problem for British league speedway we have produced the big 2 Bewley and (Lambert who chooses not to ride over here ). but since Ellis (27) and the 30 ish plus brits Worrals. Wright Lawson etc. Brennan is the only rider i.m.o who seems to be showing any real promise of reaching Prem league heat leader status, and from what i can see most of the young riders out there look no better than Champ league level at best .If this is the case what happens when the 30 plus riders are past there best. -
If Wolves had kept Morris then yes they could have signed Andersen with a team total of 38.96.

Not sure on this but if its a big signing say an 8 point assessed GP rider with the team ave already over the 39 point 6 rider limit isn't Max the only rider he can replace being the only rider with an 8 point average as i say not sure on this point. -
The future of British Speedway after the 2023 season
B.V 72 replied to TTT's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
To me the only way things can work is for another club to move up into the Premier league. To take the league to 6 clubs like it was in 2021 and 2022 not great but it worked. If my memory is right Oxford wanted to start in the Premier league so fingers crossed they still wish to do so. Or Glasgow with possibly no derby with Edinburgh might change their mind who knows. The honest truth is if the league is to survive its a must the someone moves up. That then leaves the Champ league with a team down and the chance that they will also loose Brum and Edinburgh if this is the worst case scenario then it leaves 6 teams to meet each other twice home and away just like the Premier league nowhere near ideal but beggars can't be choosers but until the next disaster it keeps things going. The only up side to this is that Champ sides will be stronger with the heat leaders from the three clubs gone shared between the 6 clubs.(Trying to look on the bright side re last sentence,) -

On the British speedway web sight its listed on the fixture list for Mon 3rd of April at 7.30 -
You also need to look at other leagues before you comment on averages. Lidsey is going well in Poland. But if you look at the Swedish league averages for riders signed this year from a 7 team league you will find that there are 38 riders with a better average than Lidsey so not that great.and with Swedish tracks being a lot closer to our tracks its hard to say how well he will go here. I expect he will go well at home( big track like Poland) but who knows about away tracks. Also Bellego sits next to him on the average list so another one who goes better in Poland than Sweden.
-
Lamberts 7 + average to replace Fricke is not the point really. Even if he had been reassessed to an 8 which seems to be the average that returning g p riders are assessed at he was replacing a rider on a 8.55 average so what's your point.
-
If things go wrong and the team drops there average, can't fit him in now but is Zagar waiting in the wings ???.
-
Of which i for one will be eternally grateful .
-
What are the Polish rules on how many clubs a rider can sign for .Can Basso sign for 4 clubs.
-
Do we know if the R/Stars that are moving up defo get the 25% off their average as being said for a little while now or just the 2,5% British reduction because if not the team above is just over. 1 point in Brennans average makes a massive difference to who you can fit in a team.If 25% then your first team fits of Bewley, Brennan, Zagar, Blodorn. Kurtz and Berge without it Wright instead of Zagar. Without knowing one way or another no one can really predict a Belle vue team.
-
Can you see Belle vue and Cookie making up he would fit instead of Berge. Could still do a dam good job as a second string at the NSS and i.m.o be much better away than Berge. Plus keep Brennan at reserve for a while.
-
Like i said in my first post not having a dig.Every winning team will have questions asked, but the bottom line is if you win the play offs you are champs and no one can take that away and its in the record books for all to see.
-
I stated in my post i had a quick look at his home meetings. I can only go off the figures a number 7 in his heats at home rides against 6/7 5/7 2/7 6/3 .A number 1 at home rides against 1/2 5/6 3/4 1/5 . So a number 7 faces 5 reserves 2 heat leaders and 1 second string. A number 1 faces 5 heat leaders 2 second strings and 1 reserve the odds are that he would have had a much tougher time keeping his 7 point average. So you have to agree that riding at number 1 he would face much tougher opposition. All i said is would he have kept his 7 point average if not the panthers gained a R/R for a heat leader for the rest of the season.
-
Not a dig but how he was on a false average a quick look going off home meetings only. 5 meetings at reserve scores 47 points. One meeting as heat leader scores 5 points gets injured keeps average he achieved at reserve all season.Would he have kept that level of scoring at number one if not team benefits rest of season having rider replacement for an extra heat leader.

Sheffield vs. Belle Vue Grand Final 2nd Leg 13/10/22
B.V 72 replied to TTT's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The only way we can see if Belle vue could beat Sheffield without Lambert in the side is to go back to the 4 league matches we have ridden against each other this season. Home and away first meetings Belle vue on agg won 94 to 86 .On the second meetings Sheffield won 93 to 87. Thats one each add all the scores together to get a winner and the score is 181 to 179 in favour of belle vue another just 2 point win so we kinda beat you three times on aggregate. -
Wolves beat everyone to it and dropped three and a half points off their team average after their hammering at Kings Lynn.
-
Sorry you can't Fricke has a higher average.

Sheffield vs. Belle Vue Grand Final 2nd Leg 13/10/22
B.V 72 replied to TTT's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Lots of differing opinions on here. Lambert for fricke like for like or cheat etc some say yes some say no. Was the ref right or was she wrong some say yes some say no. Here's my opinion why Sheffield lost (in my opinion this is more like a fact ).If Sheffield's number 1 and G P star Jack Holder had put a shift in and rode like a heat leader at Belle vue any of the above would not have mattered because Sheffield would have walked it. -
The biggest thrill of speedway is a dam good close race with a few good passes to get the blood pumping we love it.Its why we go to the speedway its why people come back time and again its why a newby will come back again. So, what do a lot of promoters do cut corners on the most important thing in speedway the track. They buy crap cheaper shale some don't seem to maintain the track as well as they should and then the racing suffers, and they then wonder why the crowds are down. It's sad to see a once thriving sport keep shooting itself in the foot.
