  1. Sorry to stick my nose in. But as a speedway fan I find the Kings lynn thread so depressing and all the problems could harm the sport I love and this post tops the lot.I know its all probably pie in the sky but as an outsider looking in if everyone involved with the club, the promotion the riders and the fans could rally round and get over the problems of the first half of the season and all do the jobs they should then this club could really fly. On paper you have one of the best teams in the league.Possibley as a group the best 3 heat leaders, good strong 2nd strings a strong number 6 and a number 7 who is not a 2 point youngster. You are only 4 points behind a play off spot with 4 matches in hand on a struggling Poole side. You might never have a team as strong as this for quite a while. In fact if the club could pull itself together and reach the play offs you could even win the bloody thing So for the good of the sport come on Kings lynn get your act together and put your club back together. best of luck.
  2. Nothing wrong in strengthening a team during the season to help them get to the play offs. Both our teams as well as others have done it this season and other sports allow it as well. As far as I am concerned the problem last year was the timing of the move.If Wolves had signed Woffy mid season to help them reach the play offs he would have had time to become a part of the team and no one would have batted an eye lid. Being allowed to add him to a team that was already good enough to reach the play offs so late in the season was the problem which a lot of us thought was an unfair advantage.I saw it as 6 members of the wolves team that had earned a play off place + a ringer.I felt that after battleing for the season the 4 teams were good enough to reach the play offs and the fair way would have been for the same team members to have battled it out to see who were the best.(for what its worth I thought that Wolves were good enough to win it as they were) So fair or unfair is still the question (and not who won the title Belle vue lost the title through riding crap at Wolves) we are still debating that point a year later. Being on the unfair side and with the powers that be backing my point of view having brought in a rule to stop this happening again this year I have not listened to or read any comments that have changed my mind.
  3. With respect looking at the meeting with a could of should of point of view with Payne and Shuttlworth missing and just a 6 point return from R/R and guest you got lucky meeting us at a time when both riders were missing.
  4. Could Batch be Poole bound in place of Kasprzak as Poole only have a week I think before Kasprzak's average drops ?. Or is it just that he is injured.
  5. Just my opinion and I am far from a track expert. It seems of late that there is a lot more grip on the outside of the track than there used to be and when a rider gets on that fast line there is no catching them. From before the start of the meeting you can see a distinct line where its smooth on the inside and much more cut up on the outside and even more dirt builds up as the meeting goes on and the outside line gets even faster. The whole track used to be prepaired a lot slicker and to me the quality of the racing was a lot better it just seems to create many more racing lines seeing a pass on the inside used to be a regular thing now you don't see it as often.I look back to the world cup last year and the semi final track was very grippy and the racing was bobbins for the final the track was a lot slicker and it created a fantastic meeting with more passes than I can mention. So for me make the track slicker and we will see better racing and maybe the home team will have more home track advantage by getting to know the passing lines better instead of just chasing a guy on a single fast line with no chance of catching him.
  6. Yep Tungate is a gamble. But Belle vue as we were imo were not strong enough at home when it comes to the business end of the season to beat the top teams(more so Wolves) on aggregate if the gamble pays off and Tungate rides to his Belle vue form then we could be if not then we are back to rougthly where we were.We might not be quite as good away but if Tungate does well at home and we win all our future home meetings and this team is still good enough to pick up at least a good few 1 points away we should have already done enough away to reach the play offs. For me a gamble worth taking time will tell.
  7. Total madness(re Bewley and Smith) there is only one Premiership team that rides on a Saturday night and out of all the Saturday nights in a season they arrange for us to visit Eastbourne on the same night crazy crazy this should have been one of the most attractive fixtures of the year and now it has been turned into a joke.Whoever sorted the fixture lists this year wants to be kicked out of the door as this sort of mess is happening far to often this season and can only damage our great sport.
  8. I agree with your comment re the track being far to grippy to me it was the same for the Somerset meeting and the racing is not as good and our boys seem to ride it better when its slick. If you look back to the P C Memorial DVD the track was much slicker and we all know how good the racing was for that meeting so why change what works.Track slicker for the Poole meeting please.
  9. Yep that's right that's why i questioned the poster that said he would be riding at Workington. Plus i do not understand why we are riding on Sat the 5th of August if Bjerre gets through to the SEC finals The following Friday(our normal race night) non of the three clubs are riding so could they have not arranged the fixture for then as we would have a full strength team and Workington would not have Cookie missing a match. After last weeks result i would think that two full strenght teams would attract a large crowd but if Bjerre is missing again with a Nat league guest in his place and the Rebels even stronger with Hougaard it could keep a lot of fans away.
  10. You are all right the fixtures really needs someone to sit down and really look at them. Our return match with you at Belle vue on Sat the 5th of aug clashes with the SEC 3rd round so we will have Bjerre missing again if he qualfies leaving us with a Nat league replacement totally ruining a much looked forward to meeting and Workington race the same night so they will have Cook missing.Yet the following friday none of the 3 clubs are riding so why not arrange the meeting for then and all the clubs will be happy all it takes is for someone to look at the fixtures and see that this is a better day i am sure that a lot of clashes could be avoided if they just spent more time to look and sort out a better fixture list its now becoming total madness.
  11. Just researched what could be some depressing news for the next visit of the rebels to belle vue on sat the 5th of aug.the 3rd round of the sec finals are on the same date so with Hougaard already out of the comp if Bjerre goes on to qualify for the finals the rebs will be at full strength and belle vue will have to use a nat league rider again which will totally ruin what should have been a much anticipated return match with both teams at full strength.Hope they have the sense to rearrange the meeting if Bjerre gets through.
  12. Good close meeting i enjoyed the racing if not the result well done Somerset you well deserved the points. I am not to down hearted with the result as the Belle vue team rely very much on the top 5 and can normally carry our 2 young reserves if they have a poor meeting. In my opinion i know that both teams were missing a top rider but i think that the rebels covered the missing rider better with them having the stronger reserves. With Bjerre missing and Payne in we could just not cover having 3 National league class riders in the team. With the 3 riders in 10 of the heats and the rebels reserves riding better we just could not get any heat advantages to pull us back into the match. With Bjerre in and Worrall in at number 2 i think we may just have pinched it.I hope next time both teams will be at full strength it is a meeting i am well looking forward to as it should be another classic as all the rebels team seen to like and ride our track very well.. Again no sour grapes its just my view on the meeting and i will say again well done Somerset on your well deserved win.
  13. Agree with you there Sidney best team i have ever had the pleasure of watching race. But swapping Eyre no chance of that the team was all about bringing on our own riders back then(give them credit they are trying to do the same thing with the colts again now).If you remember every team member was one of Belle vues home products bar Ivan(and i include Soren in that statement as he was with us from day one in England and stayed with us for most of his career)Maybe we can do it again in a few years time with say Zagar(in Ivans roll)Cook, the worralls,Bewley,Smith and Bickley if they all reach their full potential fingers crossed, that would be a dream come true for most Belle vue fans.
  14. Yep makes things hard when a top man is missing we nearly blew it against Leicester with Bjerre missing and having to use Bewley and Smith in 3 of his rides. But looking on the bright side you are more able to cope now you have made the team changes with Scornick Glegg and a NL rider you could have been in real trouble. Now i think the team will be able to cope.
  15. If you look at it another way in every meeting he has rode for Belle vue up to now home and away he has scored more than the opposing teams 5th average rider so on the track at every meeting he has done his job and proved himself better in his team position than them so why change him. With the exception of guest rider Toft who rides the NSS better than he rides other Prem league tracks and even then he scored 8+1 from 5 rides to Toft's 10 +2 from 6 riders. The question is would Toft be as consistent home and away.
  16. As a close competition it was a good meeting. As for the racing towards other meetings this year then yes we have been a little spoiled.
  17. Great team performance by Leicester they gave us a real fright after the two 5 1s in heats 11 and 12 i thought that you had us beat glad you came away with a point you well deserved it.
  18. I've got a feeling that Morton and Gordon would tell Buster sod all about any track plans. PS If you want to see racing like you describe above do yourself a favour and buy yourself a copy of the Peter Craven memorial trophy DVD from Clean cut sports.Stunning racing and Batch was in the thick of it.
  19. Just a thought in past years when reserve's average's have been included in the teams total points allowance to my recollection no rider for team building purposes was ever allowed to have an average less than 3 no matter how low his real average was.If that's the case this year will a number 6 have to stay on a minimum 3 average and a number 7 on a minimum 2 average. Does anyone know if this type of ruling is in force this year ?.If that's the case would it not take Wolves present total to 39.59 and if so does it make more sense as to why they want to change Adam now.?
  20. Any news on Jack Smith with him being withdrawn from the meeting following his fall.Is he ok.
  21. If it was all down to set ups and faster bikes how do you explain the fact that up to heat 13 Fricke had scored 3 points from 3 rides and never won a race all night he had already been beaten by both Kasprzak and Andersen and that Andersen had already won 2 heats 1 in the 2nd fastest time of the night.Yet you say he had a faster bike he just rode the better lines in that race full stop.
