Belle Vue V Leicester Friday 25th August
B.V 72 replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Just a point of interest when Leicester where here earlier in the season the score after heat 12 was B/v 33 L 39. We had R/R for Bjerre but Fricke scored a 15 point max and Bewley was there and this time Newman replaces Ayres at reserve so this is going to be a close meeting. -
Belle Vue V Leicester Friday 25th August
B.V 72 replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I agree this could be a very tougth meeting. On paper our reserves should get beat in every race so potentially could only score 1 point between them. One of them has to take a R/R for Fricke so a reserve will be out in 8 races so not much chance of a heat advantage in any of those heats. As you say all our top 4 will have to be on top form for us to win this one.I think we may need 2 big 5 1s in heats 13 and 15 to win this one. King is the key to this one he can blow hot and cold around the NSS if he has a good one we could be in big trouble. -
Check before you post Smith is a Glasgow asset.

Development league my arse signing a 40 year old Mason to replace a 23 year old Ritchings(and then use R/R for him) because he was the best averaged rider available at the time instead of giving a youngster a chance to develop.Tuttut winning at all cost.lol The truth is yes it is a development league but a winning team seems to bring more people through the gates which = money.Without money a lot teams could/would not run and then there would be no development league for riders to develop in so promoters will field the best team they can to get the punters in and we have to give them a little le-way. ps as I have said before giving younger team members R/R rides for a missing older rider is still giving them more track time to develop is it not. pps In answer to a person who wrote re away meetings on another thread(quote I personally don't waste my money anymore I go to home meetings) I am not surprised that not many Belle vue fans were there in a 3 week period from the 9th Aug to 1st Sept we have 5 Aces and 2 Colts meetings to find the pennys for and I will get out of my armchair for all of them.

My 50s comment was nothing more than to state how much we miss Payne of which the scores say we do and you are wrong. My development interests lie with 3 of the best prospects in the league riding for my team watching them improve every meeting its a pleasure to watch.
-
Silly post with Payne in the team every match round Belle vue we hit 60+ without him we have hit 60 once we have had to settle for mid 50s shows how much we miss him. What are you on about re development Payne is 30 years old Bewley and Smith are in their second season and Bickley his first so giving them his rides is all about development as they are all so new to the sport and have plenty of developing to do where as Payne at 30 a dam fine heat leader at this level wont get much better. Do you think that Payne who is missing Championship rides as well is just pretending to be injured just so that Belle vue can make a mockery of British speedway and win at all cost.Like I said a very silly post from a fan who can't handle the fact that this year his team is no where as good as the last few seasons. What you on about now Payne finished last season with an 8+ average in stronger league last year(re the riders in it last year)

Fixed Race Nights For 2018 Season
B.V 72 replied to Perton Wolf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I thought fixed race nights were being talked about to avoid clashes with Championship clubs to stop so many doubleing up/down clashes.Monday seems to be a day that is not used much by Championship teams.Plus there are not many continental meetings held on a Monday for there to be many clashes. But can all teams in the Premiership ride on regular Mondays ?. -
Sorry Dean but I presume you were a Wolves supporter that's a Premier league team. League name changes still confuse me had to check when I wrote my previous post.
-
The numbers might well fit but its not just about that its also about the quality of teams that fans will pay to see. Going off your riders riding at the correct level point of view.Going off the latest green sheets there are 34 Championship riders riding for Premiership clubs plus a few others over the season.24 of those riders are Championship heat leaders. So if riders ride at the correct level these 24 plus a few others should have to ride in the Premier league all being replaced by the lower class riders from countrys (a few of these might be of Premier league class)you have mentioned plus National league riders. As a Premier league fan I will be very happy with this but how many Championship club fans will be happy and still support their teams if a massive percentage of the leagues top riders are missing next season.Tigerowl would you be happy with Josh Bates possibly being your number 1. It would be nice to hear the point of view of some Championship fans as to if this idea would work or not.
-
Sorry you have lost me read my post again the riders stated with your idea 6 man teams would be left out of those Premiership teams. In general of course no one would be left out both leagues between them are 34 riders short hence doubleing up.
-
Yep I can see your thinking.Six man teams are an idea but if they did that the likes of Shanes,Greaves,Smith,Ayres,Perks,Morley,Branford and S Lambert who are not ready for the Premier league now would be the riders to be left out which would solve nothing really 22 of the Championships top 30 riders would still be wanted by both leagues. The Americans Manzaneres being the best of them would be good enough for the Champ league but not as good as the 22 top Championship riders doubleing up for the Prem teams to want to sign them instead. Yep Poole have solved one problem but Buster may have caused us to have 2 more. The Poles new rules are stopping riders who want to ride here Iversen,Kilderman etc and reading that Polish new rules could get even worse next year. European clashes stopped Leberdeevs riding for Leicester the problems getting riders over here seem to get bigger every year. Sweden and Denmark do not seem to be producing riders like they used to so less of their riders to come over here. I really wish someone could solve the problem but I really cannot for the life of me see how.
-
First of all I would love for doubleing up to stop but as I have said before the way British speedway is I don't know how they can do it. The real problem is the fact that we don't have enough riders to fill all the team places in both leagues. We have 34 riders that double up/down this season. That half the riders in both leagues and that's the problem. But lets say that next season they stop doubleing up/down and both leagues settle on keeping 17 riders each. It would make the Championship league a lot weaker but they could promote 17 riders from the National league wether they are ready or not, even though they have at least 10 Nat league riders in the league already this season.Who double up from the Nat league but that's another problem. The real problem starts with where do the Premier league find the 17 riders they are missing to fill the team places. Its not just the top riders from abroad that do not want to ride in Britain the list is very long one. So is it money the amount of fixtures/differing race nights what stops them wanting to ride here. The person that can come up with an answer to this problem and get them back over here will have solved the problem of doubleing up. Answers on a post card.
-
Better fixture planning has to happen because the way British speedway is at this time there is no way that they can stop doubleing up/down. Looking at the riders involved if they stop it next year. Both leagues need the same riders to fill their team places. Looking at it from just one point of view and the riders all choose to stay in the top league. That would mean that 25 out of 30 riders at present riding as Champ league heat leaders would be missing next season plus possibly another 10 or so presently riding as Prem league reserves. I know people will say some will stay in the Prem league but imo the following riders will not. Cook S Worrall R Worrall R Lambert King Holder Harris Lawson Grajzonek Morris Masters Schlein Plus if push comes to shove a few more will choose the Prem league. It would cause more money problems for all the clubs as a lot of riders will ride for the clubs that pay the most which I would think in most cases will be Prem league clubs. Can the Championship survive without all these top riders all being replaced by young Nat league riders. How many of you will stop going if this is the strength of the league ?. I hate riders missing from meetings as much as the next fan through doubleing up but the way British speedway is at the moment with not only the top overseas riders not wanting to ride over here what choice have our Promoters got.

Belle Vue V Kings Lynn Stars 11-08-2017
B.V 72 replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Good god all legit reasons injuries etc (Cookie seems in a bad place at the moment ?)deserved sackings etc(where's Lambert ?).But even as a season ticket holder and the meeting already paid for and not missed a home meeting for far to many years for me to remember I am considering giving this one a miss.Just hopeing that the guests for Belle vue are riders I like to watch and inspire me to turn up. Looking on the bright side I will be able to leave home a little later as parking wont be a problem with this line up. Having had a rethink with a cooler head. Not many riders will score what Cookie can round Belle vue.No replacement can score what Tungate can on his low average, and no Cook or tungate to take Frickes r/r rides.King,Toft and Huckenback score well round Belle vue it could end up a real close match there is a good chance we will get our asses kicked so as usual I will be there. -
Time To Crack Down On The Aussies?
B.V 72 replied to Daniel Smith's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
No one said that they cannot ride overseas for 6 years just that the British club takes priority over any rearranged fixtures abroad over that period.Any rider that is good enough will already be riding for clubs abroad at the time they are dropped just like Holder.Batchelor and Tungate are now. Any lower order ride that has no team abroad that gets dropped is in the same position as any British rider that gets dropped its just the nature of the sport. -

B.V 72 replied to Daniel Smith's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Its not just that is it I believe that the Poles have a new tv contract and now ride on other days as well to suit them clashes or not. Plus as reported if next year they restrict riders to one other league then next year we loose Lindgren.Holder,Kasprzak.Fricke,Doyle.Plus any other riders that get a place in their top league.(if they keep it just for the top league more if not) So next year clashes will not be a problem because none of them will be riding here for there to be a clash. So just to go back to my original point some posters seem to have problem with asking the Australians to sign a priority contract for a time period with no clause stopping them riding in any other league in exchange for giving them a chance of a speedway carrier. But seem ok with a contract that restricts riders to 2 leagues stopping them (if they wish to) earning wages from 2 other leagues of which they have always been able to do.In doing so helping to destroy those leagues by monopolising the top riders strange. -
Time To Crack Down On The Aussies?
B.V 72 replied to Daniel Smith's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
All I am saying is that in return for taking a chance on a young Aussie possibly paying his 1st year flight over finding accommodation and other help that they just agree to give the British clubs priority for set fixtures over re-arranged fixtures abroad like it has been for years until the Poles changed things this year. What do the Poles ask for you cannot ride in other leagues maybe only one other next year and that you have to ride in a rearranged fixture for us if there is a clash with an arranged fixture with another club even though you have signed a contract with them as well. Somehow there has to be some sort of stand against the Poles or do you think we should roll over and die thats what the Poles are doing they are playing a big part in killing off British speedway. If there was no British league do you thick the Poles will be prepared to give the aussies their first chance like we do.More the case that Australian riders would die out as well. -

you question how a British contract that just asks for priority would be legal. Yet you state that a Polish club might not let a British rider ride in his own country because he has signed a contract with them and not even mentioned that this could have its own legal problems as well.(Going along with your line of thought to avoid legal problems would this contract have to guarantee that the rider gets a team place for every meeting.) Sorry on this point I do not understand your logic. -

Not saying stop them riding abroad just that if we have an arranged fixture then that takes priority over a rearranged fixture in Poland. The way its always been until this season when the Poles who want it all their own way changed the ball game. I did mention a financial clause in my 1st post. -

A lot of the Australians that ride over here are very loyal to the British league. So why put a stop to them coming over here to start off their careers. I would think that it would be fair that in return for giving them the chance/start in a speedway league. That they should be asked to sign a contract that they will remain loyal and give first priority to the British league for say 6/8 or so years with a large financial clause if they break the contract. If they don't want to sign then fine find a start elsewhere.( the Poles ask for demands from riders which they agree to if they want to ride there so why can't we). That way the promoters will have a guarantee that they will get a return for their investment and if the rider turns out to be a super star they will at least have them in their team for a few years at their best. I am not saying stop them riding in Poland if they become good enough just that over these years we get priority full stop. A good few will never become world class but over here they would be good 2nd strings/3rd heat leaders, Championship heat leaders etc so why bring in a rule where we would miss out on these riders. Just my thoughts but I think its a fair way and would give everyone a fair deal. -
Holder should use his head a little and think about the future. As every year passes he seems to loose a little form from the year before. If this continues how long is it before he is out of the GPs and the top teams in Poland and Monster drop him.He might be happy then to have the British league to fall back on. That is if any British club wants him.

Premiership Matches Deadline!
B.V 72 replied to Speedwaycrazy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Fixture planning really needs looking at next year I know we are going to have rain offs. But if the clubs can't fit in 14/15 home fixtures in just short of 6 months plus all the rider/meeting clashes then the sport is really going to end up on its ass. When I started watching this sport at hyde road there was going on for 30 home meetings a year and there was no problems like what we have today what the hell has gone wrong. There were 3 northern trophy meetings, approx 20 league meetings, knockout cup meetings several ind meetings and test matches.Buck up BSPA it can't be that hard can it ?. -
Lets look on the bright side its five and a half weeks till the play offs start and if things go well for Max he may be back by then fingers crossed for him.Unless a lower order team has a great run we seem to have done enough already be in the play offs. Plus with the team we have this new signing R/R should score enough points at home at least to win a good few more matches to easily keep us in the top four. So its far from over yet folks.

Not a Buster fan in any way but he is off some fans getting a lot of stick for what he has done and for the timing of the move. But think about it Batch and Holder are upset and badly done to and are letting all the world know about it.Not bothered about being sacked by Kings lynn a club they must have really pd off.But thinking about themselves they thought it would be fairer if buster had let them know a day or so earlier so they had chance to find another club. So that they could have taken the jobs of another two riders who have done no wrong to their club leaving them in the same boat as they are in now and they would not have batted an eye lid about it. So whos worse them or Buster ?.

I think that a lot more has gone on over the season than we know about and that the Poole match was just the final straw. Both riders in question have had problems with promoters in the past because of their attitude.Holder/Ford Batchelor/Rosco and both were released from long standing clubs.food for thought perhaps British speedway has finaly had enough of them.
