Time to sack Phil Morris?
B.V 72 replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Thanks for the love 😀. I tried to post twice yesterday but i was so pd off that my words were a little off for this forum so i deleted them. I started watching this sport in 1972 and have loved it .But how the sport has gone over the years has finally got to me. Three years ago i had a season ticket for both the Aces and the Colts .But this year i have been to watch 3 live meetings. I won't do a list of all the crap that has gone on over the last few years as you all will know. Its been building for a few years now and i have just realised that i cannot support a team in a sport that really is not a sport anymore its become a pile of contrived rubbish i have had enough. So unless feelings change i will be joining the many before me and walk away. I will still look in on this forum but not comment as i have retired and get a little bored and old habbits etc. -

Going off the averages as they are now yes you can you could even keep Lidsey over Brennan and be under 40 If you change Lidsey for Brennan you could swap C Bailey for N P Toft at reserve who goes very well round B/vue.

Leicester v Ipswich July 18th

On this video i saw all the action and all the passes. Eurosport should watch BSN and club streams to see how it should be done .Less is more all we want to see is as much of the action on screen as possible through out the race and not a camera switch every 2 seconds with close ups on board cameras and sky shots where they seem to miss most of the action and any passing in most races(Basically what you can see from the stands if you were there) .Eurosport cut your costs all you need is 2 or 3 cameras at most to film a race. -
Agree i wanted us to keep Brennan.

Blodorn.

There is an aspect of the crime related to speedway that being speedway stadiums are full of older people. If he is accepted back i think he will get a hell of a lot of stick from the crowds where ever he goes.

Now we have debated the cost of streaming would anyone like to comment on what they thought about the Peter Craven memorial speedway meeting. Very enjoyable meeting .Well done Brady great performance a well deserved win, great race in the final between Brady and Dan . Thought the new boys to the Belle vue team Ben and Connor showed great promise for the season ahead. Got me back in the mood for speedway and now well locking forward to the new season ahead .The performances of all the Belle vue team gives me hope that the new team can make up for the forced weakening of last seasons team down to averages.

To me speedway is a sport and in sport you play/ride to win. I love close plenty of passing races as we all do. But if its my team that are getting passed great race or not i am still pi**ed off. I also go home feeling a lot happier if my team has won. Its why the play offs pull in much better crowds meaningless silverware or not fans want/hope to see there team win something it makes people happy.

There are 4 speedway of nations meetings to plug the gaps in July.
-
Could have had the top 3 +Wright Cook and Mountain and Bailey stronger imo.
-
Could have kept both Wright and Brennan releasing just Blodorn for a slightly weaker number 6. Keeping 6 of last seasons table topping team which would have i.m.o been a stronger team.
-
3.81.Just a point to look at Phil is that B Cooks average was achieved by riding at reserve for 11 of the 24 meetings so you would think that would bump up his average. While Wrights average includes no reserve rides and a proven number 4 for 3 seasons so for 0.15 of a point we could have keep him. Hope Lemon has someone better in mind.

C Holder 7.16 J Pickering 6.78 K Howarth 5.41 (with discount).Final averages from British speedway official web sight.

King’s Lynn 2024 serious team predictions
B.V 72 replied to SamKM91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Where do you get that Belle vue's team is about the biggest budget i have no idea what riders are paid. But i do know about other/last years team it is about loyalty and good long term signings. Kurtz has been with us for 3 seasons having put a point on his average since we signed him. Bewley has never ridden for any other Prem league club having started with us in the Colts team in 2016 on a 3 point average in the National league and only missing the 2022 season. Lidsey has never ridden for any other Prem league club starting with us in 2019 on a 4 point average finishing the season with a 5.15 average .Then signing again last year on a 5.15 average and finishing with an average of 7.82.Wright has been with us for the last 3 seasons and has been a very good number 4.(Sadly lost to averages next season) Brennan has been with the club for the last 3 seasons starting off as a rising star and ending this season with a 6+ average.(sadly lost him next year due to averages) Has never ridden for another Prem league club. Blodorn has been with us for the last 2 seasons starting off as a very young ass 4 point average and ending this season with a 5.83 average has never rode for another Prem league club. So from the above i see a team that is built on loyalty and wanting to ride for the club. Other loyal riders Cook 7 seasons starting on a 3,88 ave in 2011 Fricke 6 seasons starting on a 4.84 ave in 2015 Zagar 5 seasons S Worrell 6 seasons So in my opinion far from a buy success team yes we have made some big signings but in most case's the club have signed potential and if its paid off and have stuck with them for years. -
Belle Vue vs Ipswich (playoff semi 2nd leg) 25/09/23
B.V 72 replied to SamKM91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think you should take him on as your rising star next year as a thankyou. -
arnieg (or anyone else) you seem to have some knowledge of how the averages work. If you can could you explain to me why on the average chart from 5th of Sept Belle vues team average was 42.66.Then on the average list from the 25th Sept in the green column with no date they have increased to 42,74 with 4 riders having increased there averages and 2 dropping theirs. Now my question is if Belle vue had finished all their league fixtures on the 28th of August how can their averages have increased from their averages on the 5th of Sept when they have not rode any meetings.Hope all this makes sense.
-
Looks like we will have to weaken the team again for the second year running so we will be very interested in a very good 4 pointer who seems to like the NSS. Can the Australian team manager have any influence ? .
-
Oops should have done a little more research myself in my defence the scores are from 6 rides per meeting and only 5 wins from the 12 rides but still good performances. I am right about the last 2 Belle vue scores though the throttle bashers did for ok themselves which was my main reason for posting but still no comment from the Wolf about it.

Belle Vue vs Ipswich play off semi 1st leg
B.V 72 replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No both 22 and 23 seasons he has not ridden enough meetings to qualify for a new average so he has been given an assessed average why 7.81 i don't know but it is an assessed average. -
