  1. There is a guy somewhere in Manchester who will be getting very excited....
  2. With all due respect, and I am as guilty of this as anyone else, but lets cut the promoters some slack here, this whole those who run it don't produce what the paying customer wants is wide of the mark. How can you say what the paying customer wants? If you wanted a marching band during the interval or on the parade, is that the voice of every paying customer in British Speedway? If SCB wants all OAP's banned, is that the voice of every paying customer? If Gemini wants no fireworks because they scare her dog, is that the voice of the paying customer? Of course it isn't (And please do not take offence if I have mentioned you, they were the first couple of statements I have seen that came into my head) The only way you will ever know what the majority of paying customers want is to get out there and ask questions, get a mailing list, mobile numbers. (Everyone does this from Football Clubs to Greyhounds) I was in Manchester for a weekend last year with mates, we were at a loose end on the Friday so we went to the dogs at Belle Vue, got discount admission for £2 by downloading a voucher, they in return got my e-mail address and mobile phone number, I now get "offers" and news off them on a regular basis. Every successful business will know there customers, those Tesco Clubcards people use....do you think they are doing it out of the goodness of there hearts? Of course not, it allows Tesco to analyze everything you buy, market trends etc...
  3. I'd like to meet him, in fact I would insist on buying him a drink if he ever came down to Monmore Green, but there is no way I am stretching the budget to buy his carer one as well.....
  4. Lets concentrate on having speakers that work before we get carried away with adding music....
  5. From viewing this forum it seems one person and one person only who has a weird fascination with the "MiniMax" racecards and thats the creator. I personally think you should take your MIniMax cards onto Dragons Den, you definately have an amazing product that is changing the lives of 1000's on a yearly basis.
  6. We all know why a speedway meeting takes two hours plus... It is so we think that we are getting value for money...because when its raining they can bash out 15 heats in an hour, I was at Wolves v Birmingham back in August 2011 and the meeting was finished by 8.30pm! So a meeting can be run in under an hour and anyone who says it can't is talking rubbish (accidents excluded)
  7. My initial reaction when I saw the website was that this was linked to one of the many online fantasy speedway leagues, I still think it is....
  8. There was an article in the Daily Mail the other day regarding Mr Judd Trump who is currently Snookers World Number 2, the poor little mite is moaning that Snooker players are not paid what they are worth, this is a man who has "won" over £750,000 pounds in prize money in his career so far. Snooker has been kept stable as the prize money paid out is no more than what Sponsorship, attendances bring in. Now if only Speedway could adopt that attitude, sure we may lose some "star" riders, but in time they will be replaced, new "stars" will be created, its about time promoters started sitting down at the start of the season and asking what they can afford and not how much they are willing to lose.
  9. Speedway got caught standing still and has now been overtaken. Its unique to all other forms of motorsport, so comparisons are pointless.
  10. Can anyone provide admission details for there clubs for the forthcoming 2013 season? I know Dudley have put a pound on there prices, so they are now £11 for adults, Wolves and Birmingham still show 2012 prices/
  11. Ironically, if they go PL it will attract me as a supporter, NL hasn't done it for me sadly.
  12. As above, if its here to stay then give one to all the teams and allow it upto each team manager when they use it, ie. Heat One and try and get a flier or gamble and wait till Heat 20...
  13. Don't be so touchy, it was a boring meeting, as others have quite rightly pointed out, that was to do with the opposition, as someone who was brought up going to Dudley Wood in the 80's and 90's I find it difficult to get enthralled by what I witnessed tonight and don't buy the whole "At least the Heathens are back on track business" The National League will always be a strange one in the sense that the stand alone clubs ie. Dudley need to be winning and bringing crowds in while teams like tonight (Kings Lynn) are there to develop riders and not necessarily be competing away from home. And I never thought I would say this but having travelled to meetings all over the country, I have to say some of the most pig ignorant people can be found in green, red and white. No doubt I will get the whole we are just a passionate bunch spiel.... Shame really
  14. I will give it another go but I don't get much luck in terms of Heathens meetings, been to two now, tonight and the drubbing by Stoke last August.
  15. Yes thank you, I have just woke up. Very boring meeting, you gotta hand it to CVS, call that team the Wolf Cubs has they have been in the past and nobody turns up to watch, change the name to Dudley Heathens and the place is packed out! Only excitement was if an Heathens rider failed to make the gate, upmost respect to anyone who watches it week in week out but its not for me.
  16. Right lads and lasses, have got my body armour and crash helmet on, also got a voice recorder so I can get those boo's recorded. See you at Monmore Wood shortly....
  17. Going to pop along to this one tonight means as it is a glorious day, only question is do I need to be careful to avoid all these "alleged" knuckle dragging Heathens fans who are well known for beating up old ladies and other shocking crimes? If anyone could protect me or point me towards any safe standing areas I would be greatful.
  18. Undecided over whether to attend tonight, is this going to be an unfortunate mismatch or are the teams genuinely well matched?! Don't fancy getting there to find only me and my daughter the only ones there
  19. Surely it comes down to if your good enough not your nationality? It's the whole attitude of letting everyone have a go that makes the British stuck in a rut, what happened to wanting to win and be the best?! In any competitive sport its about winning not letting everybody have a go so nobody get's there feelings hurt.
