  1. He most certainly is. Spoke to him before and he said he was very sore but was going to give it a go and boy did he. Bar a slight mistake on the back straight of heat one (when Kennett passed him) he would have had an official debut paid maximum! Debbie and Gazza look to have done well there again! I must say that scoreline does flatter the Rockets. I actually double checked my programme adding up as i thought they had never reached 40 points tonight. Seems as though they may have had a half time rollocking as they had more interest after heat 9 when the tack slickened off but were all pretty poor in the first half of the meeting. A couple of EF's for Rohan and BWD plus Josh's fall certainly gifted the Rockets points. I know it is early days for Rye but Karger looked way off the pace and only beat Zach, who looked down on power for the rest of the night after his heat 2 problem on the last corner. Rebels should have been close on 60 points really but they weren't so we will see what happens on Monday weather permitting. I know it was Good Friday but definitely a good sized crowd tonight at the OTA, may have been bolstered by some of the 450 remaining Plymouth fans i suppose?
  2. Oh well, that's one less Trophy for them to have to polish in the OakTree now! No confirmation by official Somerset sources as yet though?? Maybe they haven't heard the 'SHOUTING' from Devon!
  3. Nah, the racing will be better at the OTA!
  4. Unlikely to be 6pm i think , maybe 7pm as that is the usual start time the council allow for this meeting.
  5. Wore that emblem with pride on my Somerset County golf kit back in the early nineties! I like it and the actual design is growing on me with each day. Popped into the OakTree today and it looked much better on a few posters and things i saw it on in there.
  6. Plenty more to come from Wrighty and Starke i'm sure.
  7. All 7 have potential to improve their starting averages i feel. A few unknown quantities in the PL but have faith in our promotion as they have provided us with plenty of silverware in recent seasons. If all else fails we will definitely win the PL Scrabble Championships!!
  8. Have faith Najjer! Obvously Benji is struggling so if the management can pull an rabbit out the hat there i think the team is PL contenders again for the fourth year in a row. The NZ lad at Eastbourne looks good if he is a 3.00 average?
  9. With you on that one OT. That was one horrendous night of speedway, well the 3 heats anyway with the Cunny and Barker crash in heat one being bad enough before Garry and Jordan's accident in heat 3. Great to see him back on a bike!
  10. didn't think you were old enough to retire yet???
  11. Don't worry i can't retire yet either! :-) Good luck to Benji and welcome to the OTA. I hope he thrives at Somerset and proves the doubters wrong Strange how the ones moaning when Dilger was signed instead of a Brit (when Ollie stood down) are now still against a Brit now he has signed. Can't win with some people can you!
  12. I hear it has been announced tonight that Charles Wright is now an asset of the Somerset Rebels having been signed on a full transfer.
  13. Been done before on a Weds, i think it sometimes relates to when the press are actually available to cover it as much as anything, Cheltenham Festival week before and Bristol City at Wembley that weekend i think. I guess the sponsors have a say in it too. It only affects Starkey at the moment anyway. confused by who you mean by ours???? Somerset or that other team you support?? If you are on about Somerset's the P&P track time is never in daylight hours as bikes aren't allowed to be started until a certain time. Think a small adaption to that stipulation has been granted if a FIM event is staged there and a practice session is required by them.
  14. Top post Najjer! now that would have messed things up wouldn't it!
  15. Seem to recall hearing somewhere that Josh G may have a Polish passport??
  16. Good to see no-one has blamed Gary May or Matt Ford for this yet!!!
  17. I can't wait for the season to start and certain teams start losing so some posters can moan at their own promotion rather than constantly trying to slate the Somerset team. How many pages of drivel have been spoutted on here! Some claim to know the truth but they don't, they only know the bits that have been publicised and have jumped to conclusions on the other bits!
  18. Actually I am not too concerned by this forced alteration after the average mix up by the BSPA and still think this Rebels team will be up there competing come September. Yes i was looking forward to seeing Jack Holder but remember we had to wait an extra year to see Brady in action and what happened during that season??? ....... oh yes we won the League amongst a fair few other things!Think Holder is probably pencilled into the 2016 Rebels team already. I think Lanham will bring a lot to the team as with an injury free season he will make a mockery of that average of 4.90. I can see a couple of points being added to that figure plus he also brings some experience off track, much like Olly Allen did in 2014. With Lanham you have more idea what you will get but with Holder it was a risk as they had no idea exactly how he would take to British speedway, admittedly he could have very good but he could also could have struggled to live up to his bigger brother's name. As was stated on Rebels site Olly Greenwood stood down himself due to his work commitments so with hardly any points to play with what was Garry supposed to do? Max hasn't really set the PL on fire but is a capable rider and does again have the experience of the PL tracks and he will take the pressure off of Starkey a bit, who is the highest average reserve. Personally i saw the Greenwood/Starke reserve pairing as being a bit weaker than the reserve duo's we have enjoyed in the past few seasons. Anyway the OTA has a good record with 'ze Germans' as Kattman, Kroger and the Hef have all been well liked by the Somerset fans in their time there so i am sure Max will be fine. As they do every year i am sure the Somerset fans will get behind the seven riders who come to the tapes in March in Cases Rebels colours. Those 7 riders will certainly develop the 'Somerset spirit' which has carrying us through the past few seasons and all will be good again. Remember last year when Pontus signed, after the Brady confusion, not many people rated that as a good signing but he was probably very close to being rider of the year and not one Rebels fan would have moaned to see him back in 2015. For all the whingers out there the Rebels team is now 'legal' so what excuses have you got when they beat you now???? Well said Nick, I know where you are coming from!!
  19. I think Peterborough actually signed Crumpy on a 2 point average back in the early nineties!! Mind you if you ever watched any GP he ever rode on TV in you would already know he was born in Bristol!
  20. and you forgot riders that want to come and ride for you!
  21. So Sheffield's and Berwick's new Aussies are incorrectly average too then???? Two words ...... Garry May
  22. Good work yet again Garry, Debbie and co in putting that together. Was it announced if we get the 2nd leg of the Final at home next season? :-)
  23. Probably only because he was heading Somerset's way! Reckon Rasmus Jensen might be one of them
