  1. I thought that too, sure before xmas Simon Stead rumours riding for Sheffield were flying about ?? But his average was too high in the EL
  2. Agree with MikeyT on this one, Adam Roynon was gaining his confidence at the latter of last season after a series of horrific injuries, riding in 3 leagues can only be better for him getting more rides and bringing him on whereas the likes of Fisher,Barker and co don't need the confidence boosting and should remain the EL making way for the Pl riders who don't have team places. I think after a certain average in the EL you shouldn't be able to double up/down
  3. Yeah such a class act he was left without a team place in the EL and desperate measures he accepted a deal with Plymouth thus more than likely bringing himself out of the unaffordable market he classes himself in . Never been a Fisher fan and never will be
  4. Have to agree there, two great riders with no back-up won't win you trophies, apart from the Pairs of course ! Ben Barker was one of the top riders in the Pl last season but with no backup was carrying the Plymouth team and they just dragged themselves from the wooden spoon. I still can't believe that once again I am going to have to endure watching Fisher bouncing himself from every board around Derwent Park and collecting whoever he can in his path
  5. Erm not quite just being realistic which brings me to the point that Sheffield could be the holders of the infamous Wooden Spoon this season
  6. Workington as Wooden Spoon  or even Berwick and Newport for that matter I take it you are a Wolves fan best sticking to the EL mate cos you haven't got a clue about the PL
  7. Was expecting to see Nick Morris in Ipswich Line-up for next season..... Could he be the missing link in Somersets team now then a very strong team Somerset will be if this is so!!!
  8. Ours is 5pages long purely because us Northerners dont speak as much garbage We can all make it 26 pages if all you want to hear is will he sign? should he sign ? I want him ? Not him please ? Yawn , Yawn , Yawn. So no far from it things are not strikingly depressing at all up here in Cumbria, just wanted to express my gratitude that Doolan was (thankfully) staying at Ipswich
  9. T.O.O.L Is that enough full stops for you Mr Snackette, just one of the words that always pops into my mind when seeing one of your posts Thank god Doolan was snapped up and won't be returning to Cumbrian Shores! Maybe you will finally get to DP next season or unless " something else crops up" and you don't show your face again
  10. Me too, very proud of our 3 man Comets team they did really well
  11. What a shame Wanna, and I was dying to shake your hand and introduce myself, seen as though you have such nice things to say about me on this here forum Maybe next time !!!
  12. A great day out, nice to meet Spin King, Squall and a very drunk Drac The meeting had some good racing but not alot of passing on this track, was very pleased with Rusty's efforts but did want Ben Barker or Kake to win. Well done to Masters (even tho it loathes me to say it )a surprise winner on the night!!
  13. A decent venue but track a lot to be desired, a few passes and that was that. Home track advantage They took it from Workington because of this which I agree with, these meetings should be run on an Elite League track along journey yeah we got to the final but I',m afraid I bet you see a whole lot less fans there for the re-run
  14. Yeah exactly what we are doing, Swindon tomorrow night for this meeting before heading to Cardiff Friday, weather looking ok to, a really good lineup should be a good nite of speedway
  15. Moan, moan, moan on this thread. The Comets missed out on the Pairs and Fours last year but had riders capable of winning too. Looking forward to this meeting after taking in Johno's Farewell meeting at Swindon on Thurs and off to Cardiff GP on the Saturday. Make my weekend to see the Comets on the rostrum
  16. A word of warning never believe anything that comes from Jenga
  17. A fantastic day out on Sunday and a great venue, hope Owlerton keeps the PLRC next year. Nice to meet a few from the forum, B4E, Shadders and a very drunk Drac . Some good racing but for me the champion was Rene Bach, everyone sees things differently but Kenni crossed over in the final taking his team mate out,had this not have happened I think Rene would have won him. Kenni Larson is awesome and deserved to be on the rostrum but in second place for me., but thats speedway . Saying that both riders were in a class of their own on Sunday.
  18. Great lets just hope its stays fine. really looking forward to tomorrow, hope all riders stay safe and lets have some good racing. Best of luck to Rusty come on you can get on that rostrum Hopefully see you all round by the first bend prob won't make the pub in time
  19. RUBBISH!! Josh has the higher average, Ricky should have done more to keep his average higher, like at the comets craig Cook was pipped to the no.1 jacket by Rusty by a mere fraction of a point so he loses out, days before the cut off. There are two other riders higher than Ricky in Lemon and Frampton so they hopefully will get the call. Why the hell should he be able to defend his title when its never been done before (other than when riders riders have got in again cause of their average)
  20. I think it should be the next in the glasgow averages so Josh G if it is him. Last year we had our no.3 representing us Andre as Kevin Doolan was injured and Adrian couldn't make it so it went to no.3. Ricky Ashworth should not get the call he wasn't good enough to get there on his average, no other riders in previous years have got there just to defend the title have they ?? So why should this year be diferent. Really unfair and a farce of a meeting if he does.
  21. Cheers that would be cool I'l keep a look out. Think he would difficult to miss though
  22. Thanx, would love too but we usually head to Meadowhall for a wander first and food then head to the stadium but if plans change I might pop my head in. The last two years we have stood on the first bend.
  23. Agree there diamondsrock, only fair to go with the riders who qualify, nice to see Rene Bach given a shot he's one of my favourite riders to watch.
