  1. Should be another cracker , as a neutral I did debate whether to travel up for this one , but will wait and see if they both get in the playoffs after my hols not sure which way it will go, Sargeant needs to up his game and Connor Mountain a trump at reserve but reckon Glasgow will just pull it off
  2. Bloody Hell Manse, you even made me chuckle with that post I must be getting soft !!!!
  3. Sounds like a great meeting , thought the Tigers would have had a very comfortable win I reckoned 51-39 but Eastbourne made them work for the win, all poised for an exciting 2nd leg !!
  4. I always knew you had a soft spot for me
  5. Well done Redcar Bears, my Adopted team to do well this season
  6. We might live in Cumbria but you can't pull the wool over our eyes Your no.1 point, someone who was very much in know knew exactly who's decision it was to stop other teams !! UTB
  7. Bloody hell that line made me laugh ...........so Godfrey took it on his chin last season when he stopped Workington, Lakeside, Peterborough riding on a Friday as too many clubs were riding and he couldn't get suitable guests for his depleted team by injuries So we all ended up with 5-6 weeks gaps , crippling the crowds and racing fixtures on a Monday, Tuesday ,Wednesday in bloody October !!! He gained nothing last season in fact these were 3 teams that made the play-offs and one team scooped the "Treble" , he might gain 3-4 away points tonight against a weaker Redcar team but that's about all he gain Best of luck Redcar would love you to pull off the win
  8. Nope....not really I completely stand by own posts , something you're not quite grasping
  9. Jesus , wind your neck in ....I have never once said I would celebrate any team closing, believe me I know how bad it feels losing my club this season. Although your fellow tigers faithfuls on here had plenty of swipes at us closing last season . I have never mentioned money either in my replies so get your bee out of your bonnet I have friends at Glasgow , a bit of banter hurts no-one , in fact this Forum is quite boring reading these days without us . I'm not consumed with any hatred, there is 5 Ex Comets riders in the Glasgow team this season whom I rate highly, 2 of them living only a couple of miles from me . I will tell you I didn't want you get the "Treble" this season I wanted the Comets to keep that crown for this season at least, but I really couldn't give a sh== whether you win anything else or whatever's left !
  10. Exactly ....Ex Comets I said at the start of the season I wanted Redcar and Berwick to do well, same issues as the Comets with money and struggling crowds over the past few years , and looking at the Redcar team now they will put some spanners in the works for the big guns, starting with Glasgow on Friday , Sheffield yesterday , so in answer to your question The Bears
  11. Whoops !!!! Well done Bears, look out the rest of the teams in the League
  12. Congratulations Redcar Bears that result did make me smile on Friday , that's the "Treble" down the swanny
  13. Can't make tonight but I'm hoping to get up in next few week especially the Glasgow v Leicester match !
  14. All set up to be a cracker !!!! . See Sharpenrake , Solidmango, Manse , you have been scratching your heads for the last few seasons wondering why you have won jack sh++, low and behold all you needed to do was copy the Comets, sign 5 of their Ex riders and bingo , a winning team, I will have to go with my second favourite team the Redcar Bears but I fear the blue/white/red team will have too much on their home track
  15. Looking like another 4 away points for Glasgow........this Ex Workington Comets team (barring Starke) are not doing bad
  16. What an absolute shambles.......... Wouldn't you have thought they would have been 100% sure the Stadium was going ahead before ripping up the speedway track !!!
  17. Don't be so ridiculous , an 8000 capacity Stadium stuck in the middle of Workington , getting an average of 500 fans if you're lucky will benefit the Town in what way , clever ar*se ? Complete waste of money and the Councillors agree !!! A smaller new Stadium to benefit the sports in the Town a much more realistic idea
  18. At last common sense prevails Shaz , not going to help us Workington Comets fans though . Why couldn't they have just revamped Borough Park and Derwent Park for all 3 sports . I know affordability is the main factor for losing the Comets , but ripping up the track gave no chance of a possible return .I'm really pleased with the result its been rejected as will a lot of others I know
  19. Only the second bend café Geoff, not the food van in the Grandstand
