Here here , Berwick weren't even going to give it a go, Kus the wus set the rot , funny how Ricky managed and kept the same time as the previous week, as the Ref stated , riders had had chance earlier to complain about the track but nothing said. Dave Hoggart had said after heat 1 after the first discussion that a couple of races and a bit of track work . , it could have been okay. I know riders safety is paramount but I wonder what the situation would have been had Berwick been on the end of 1-5 in heat 2........ Mmmm .

Hopefully he will remain as Comet , I agree there

Firstly fingers crossed everything is fine with us next year, the promotion have had a tough season, no luck at all . My gut feeling is Josh and Kyle might head south next season , possibly Somerset ?? I will be surprised if we see them in a Comets jacket tbh. Definately keep Ricky , especially as a second string , boring to watch GM ??, what do you want him to do dance . Mason definately too if we can get him at reserve with either Simon or Joe , even better . Not sure what Rene will do but as said he might concentrate on riding in Denmark and Poland, scoring good points over there the last few weeks . Maybe Robbo would like a change of track , always a good guest for us and a good heat leader

Everyone to their own , take on extra work probably like all of us , to make a decent living. These guys aren't going to hold off riding for two teams just incase there might be x amount of rain-offs forcing doubleheaders and days on end of meetings at the end of the season . Its happened this season and we are where we are , the guys are knackered .So we'l agree to disagree -

The guys are human beings not bloody robots for gods sake !! How many meetings have we had to get in , in these last few weeks. They don't just turn up , all the travelling too up and down the country too , riding with injuries it all takes it toll as its clear to see. Sadly it hasn't turned out the way we wanted but we still in there fighting so get behind the lads for once inseatd of slating !!! -
Workington V Glasgow Pl Fri 22nd Aug 2014
Taylorj replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well done Glasgow you deserved it tonight, we just weren't at the races , helped with bunyan at reserve and r/r/ for that fantastic no 1 you have who couldn't make it !! We don't have the luck with guests , but if a team I like to see do well it is Glasgow, As for the Comets , well where do we go from here , who knows ?? But as a supporter you have to get behind your team win or lose so onto next weekend , B4E , I have to believe -

The scoreline flattered the Diamonds tbh, the tactical rides worked in your favour with Ricky shedding a chain whilst in second place gifted the 8-1 and 2 points gained from 1st tac. Mmmm, Peterborough 10 meetings in hand and Worky 11 meetings in hand , only 7 points in it at the minute can you really see Newcastle on the playoffs -
Probably when the keyboard warriors like yourself stop the bloody whinging and get off their backs . Sheffield were poor the week before , had the luck last night with great guests , unfortunately when we were racing them . Try supporting them for a change instead of knocking them all the time , were you there last night ?? they didn't give up . The season hasn't gone to what was expected yet but we are where we are , give it a rest Nahh, they were after bend 1 also

Really!!!, wasn't the same meeting I was at , . Well done to Sheffield guests who won the meeting . The usual Simon Stead show , tractors out everytime before he raced . Lack of continous meetings is really starting to show in the Worky camp, but onwards to the next have quite a few to catch up on . Hope Josh bates is okay after his awful crash

Taylorj replied to Tigerish's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well what a blow after giving a shout out to Sheffield from the sofa in heat 13 ,always tough carrying a team with injuries as we well know , looked an awful crash, a sad end to a decent meeting in front of the Sky cameras -

Yes they employ the medical team but its the medical's teams responsibilty surely to have correct medical kit , like I've said its a riders responsibility to bring his bike to ride on, not the promotions. To be clear this incident hasn't happened before at Workington. When Kyle Howarth sustained his ankle injury the ambulance took him to hospital as he had been given morphine on track, and with a wait of 66 minutes for another county ambulance to come and replace it , due to the curfew and the sitting around for fans the meeting was abandoned. Receiving a fine ,mmmm I wonder if Berwick did for the abandonment of their meeting due to a Doctor "leaving " the ground I'm not comparing anything to rain off !! Spin king suggested that Workington hadn't wanted the meeting on in the first place and was this some sort of conspiracy theory to which I have replied , if Workington wanted it called off they could have looked at the weather forecast which said rain to come in around 3pm . -

Taylorj replied to topaz325's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Because he isn't the regular Doctor or ambulance team that we usually have , it had been sent as a stand in , so a failure in communication to him as to what was required for a speedway meeting, which surely should have came from the medical team -
Workington V Sheffield 27/07/14 15:00 Hrs (pl)
Taylorj replied to topaz325's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If Worky wanted the meeting off why the hell would they get both teams riders here and have to pay all expenses etc etc , could have just went with the weather forecast and called the bloody thing off with rain forecast to come in from 3pm so sorry that theory right out the window. As like most chipping in on here , who haven't a clue what the facts are . As for travelling Sheffield fans out of pocket , try going all the way Somerset for a "rain off" cough splutter and to Berwick , but not even get your entry money back either, its the chance you take in speedway, so no different to any other fans. A stand in Dr turning up without approriate medical equipment , and thats a promotions fault ?? Surely their responsibility to turn up for a job with correct equip , whos responsibility would it be if a rider turned up without a bike , the promotions too ?? -

Come on AF, our last two meetings the guests at reserve had a combined score of 0, possibly 1 across both matches !! Ashley Morris would have scored better than that , its okay if you havent got r/r ,
