  1. What goes on “behind the scenes” is between riders and management. I pay a fortune every season to see my team do the best they can and that’s what they are doing .. couldn’t really give a monkeys to be honest what the gossip merchants like your good self have to say , and for George English to broadcast to all and sundry about another team is pretty unprofessional I’m a big believer that there’s always two sides a story ...
  2. you must bored , Newcastle’s season over so soon , and it’s Taylorj
  3. Really !! Low stoop from you Tsunami I’m sure there’s another 3 teams challenging for honours so I’ll take your comments with a pinch of salt ,thanks
  4. Ty has just come back this weekend probably having the captaincy on top of trying to ride a bit too much for him . To me he’s a very focussed rider who wants to the job well , can be a bit grumpy at times but I think it’s his passion to win . What I did see last night was all the boys working as a team , jeering each other up before races, helping with bikes and Ty was included . The first time at DP I’ve seen Ty coming round for applause after his rides and actually waving at the fans he seemed very happy . These guys are doing so well I don’t see the need for negative posts of hearsay with no true facts . Great to see Rene, Rasmus and Nicolai in the bar who came in to us all giving them a rapturous applause ! Well done boys that was some team performance
  5. I honestly don’t think we were given a facility in the rain off meeting, well not as far as the fans were informed anyway . I wouldn’t have minded coming with guests ..I’m sure jacko was surprised last week when we were allowed a guest . I’m sure THJ would confirm this if he seen this thread What was quite sad was Robbo’s last night in British Speedway a bit overshadowed , we thought he might come round for a lap of honour which I’m sure he would have got ..an asset to British Speedway and always a nice guy . Best of luck for the future Robbo
  6. Craig is a local guy with a lot of local fans , irrelevant he rides for Glasgow ..as like others have said likewise for Dan Bewley and a Kyle Bickley Yet another post going over what is done .....IT IS WHAT IT IS you can go on forever but will not change a jot . Hopefully after tonight you can get your slippers and pipe out, put your feet up and watch Strictly for the next few Saturdays, you can invite your best pal round , then you can both sit and ponder and moan about how fixtures should have been before this date , that date
  7. Have fun we’ll hopefully be racing in the Grand Final that weekend
  8. That’s where you are wrong , we DID NOT , Sunday’s meeting was a re-arranged fixture , hence the facility. NL guest was the only option given for the original meeting. If Wethers had work why didn’t he mention it Sunday ? A couple of your own fans who bought a programme of us were stating Lindgren was withholding his services
  9. Difference there being we had no choice. Our riders were riding in Poland not sat at home with their feet up . Tony Jackson fought all week to get us a facility , your riders just couldn’t be a....d to turn up
  10. The main thing that comes out of all this , is that no one expected Workington to do so well and knock a few of the big hitters out of the competitions . No one moaned or protested at the start of the season when all fixtures were agreed and in place , now you have pages and pages of the likes of you lot sticking your oar in when you haven’t a clue,”fixtures should be in “ blah blah blah it really has become tiresome . We had our Lakeside fixture the awful night we lost Dan Bewley ...to get Lakeside to come back was the issue . I’m sure Peterborough and Lakeside are meeting for the next few weeks home and away to get Cup, Shield, playoffs in too so not just Workington. Believe me there’s nothing more we want than to meet Glasgow next weekend, not running scared from Cook but the powers that be have Edinburgh who want KOC semi in . It would have been much better for us next weekend as the averages change from 1st October and Dan will go to 4th in our averages so no guest options, so you see it’s who you are in this game and how far you’re up the BSPA’s backside, we are at the bottom of that ladder so get shafted time and time again . No matter how much you moan , pass on your sad comments it is what is . Glasgow just think they can call the shots whenever they want . Had it been Peterborough or Lakeside you met you be waiting a hell of a lot longer , certainly not before your Dinner Dance on 26th .So I’ll be off and get myself ready for our first of 3 semi finals we are in
  11. Such a shame for Robbo , we expected him to come round to a standing ovation which I’m sure he would have got , but didn’t even want to come round for that , shame his team mates couldn’t be arsed to turn up on his last meeting of his career . You can only race what’s in front of you but for Newcastle to turnup with that team for the paying fans was a disgrace
  12. Need to look behind the figures oh clever one (not) ...you haven’t a clue about what goes on in the background all looks so simple , had Glasgow been good enough to be in any other competitions you would see it from a very different angle . Was made very public knowledge that Friday fixtures for 3 teams, (as one team couldn’t get guests ) had to re-arrange due to rider availability. But you can only re-arrange if you can get teams to come . Simple really you needn’t have wasted your time
  13. Strangely 3 of the teams who they tried to screw over , Lakeside & Worky , Peterboro , are in the play-offs now there's a bit of karma for ya
  14. Lets bloody hope so , needs to take the other one with him
  15. Not sure what you're whinging for , Glasgow aren't in any of them anyhow Fixtures are arranged around rider availability for one reason... You won't get Glasgow agreeing to the play-offs for weekend in Oct with no Cook , no difference for other teams wanting their 1-7 available for the other competitions either , throw into that other teams self interest and pulling the plug on Friday fixtures for PeterB, Worky and Lakeside so it is what it is
  16. Cast your minds back to the week before...Newc v Scunny, how long again to get a meeting in 6 falls for Newcastle , 2 falls for Scunny...from updates B4L1, B4L3, B4L3,B4L2 need I go on ?? Week before that Newc v Lakeside 4 falls , come on !! Bend 4 is rough at Brough.. I ain't the only one who thinks the way out is the best thing over there believe me I'm just the more vocal one Speaking to riders (not Worky's) after Sundays meeting, they don't mind a technical track just not a S... track . It's my opinion , you all have yours , so as always we will agree to disagree
  17. Marvellous !!! Lets shout it from the Rooftops ....Come and Support this team to some long awaited Silverware and the Promotion for sticking with it these last few months with hurdle after hurdle , would be a travesty to lose Speedway in Workington
  18. So you do agree with me THJ the track was crap for the first meeting
  19. Peterborough will face lakeside in the KOC semi final and the Championship Shield semi final and the play-offs
  20. Come down Friday Aceslider and see a decent speedway meeting without riders slowing down at the bends and bouncing up and down like yo-yo's The amount of fallers has no relevance really, just watching them hang on for grim death round the 4th bend was enough , riders from both teams , but hey I gladl'y don;t have to pay week in week out to watch it thank god Keith, the track has been no different anytime I've been , your lot are easily pleased over the NE to watch that every week , your lot know nothing else as they don't travel far to watch their team , get yourselves over Friday to support your team and see for yourself
  21. Not really, I'm a big fan of Cookie .. I'm sure the rule that was bent was that if Craig came back to ride in our league he had to ride for the team he rode previous 12 months which I'm sure wasn't Glasgow...Speedway is a funny old sport, all depends on the day whether you win or not . I'd take my 1-7 any day , bring on the play-offs, KOC and Championship semi final
  22. I agree with jamlad to an extent, Cookie shouldn't be riding in GP's , Premiership and the Championship...bums on seats for who ?? Glasgow thats about it ..I'm sure if any other team signed the likes of Woffinden and or Pederson in our league there would be plenty of disgruntled teams, bit of a difference between ambition and desperation
  23. No chance we be riding Lakeside before the 23rd. Looking like Newcastle KOC on Friday then Scunny Saturday night
