A point away from home is better than nothing I suppose , certainly an improvement on recent away performances -

Bigger crowd on a Saturday night , makes sense -
It's not just the Star riders that ride on the continent , there are plenty riders who wouldn't be classed as top riders riding in the P/L who are already racing in Poland and other countries teams like Glasgow are already struggling to get a decent team on track
-
One possible problem I can see is rider availability , Edinburgh , Berwick , Glasgow & Newcastle are all weekend tracks (and in Berwick's case no chance of moving race nights ) that would men less chance of signing any top riders who would no doubt be committed to racing abroad at the weekend it would also mean no GP riders not only for the home but also for visiting teams , would fans be willing to turn up and watch depleted teams racing most weeks ?

Not a meeting for the purists last night Rye House where as awful as most people had predicted , with a makeshift team I don't suppose you can expect much else , Still a win is a win and all that & hopefully we can make it a double tonight in the return -
Darcy is not the Messiah , he's a very naughty boy

Which Jason Bunyan will we see at Berwick tomorrow night ?
-
The people choosing to bury their head in the sand and pretend that there isn't a problem ! Why doesn't that surprise me ?

Having witnessed some of Berwicks previous performances at "The San Siro" of Scottish Speedway , Bert Harkins would probably still be able to out perform some of the current team -
If as it has been suggested its fairly commonplace for some riders to go out for "a couple of beers" the night before a GP , then the fact that this event was moved to a Sunday afternoon and not held on a Saturday night wouldn't have helped any "re-hydration" process would it ?, normally they would have had all day to recover from a night out but this time there was only a few hours , I'm not putting this forward this by way of an excuse I have already said on here and elsewhere IMHO its completely unprofessional for a rider to consume any alcohol for up to 24 hrs before any event , one would of thought that after being tested once this season already you would of though that that would 've been enough of a warning unfortunately for Darcy it seem not

Just asking that's all , didn't expect him back this weekend but a long term absence may cause problems

Anyone know if there's a timescale on Mattys return to fitness ?

Double headers at Shielfield are about as rare as a Bandits away win at that San Siro of Scottish speedway that is Armadale , I think the last one we had involved Reading but I can't remember who the other team was . Anyways we need to finish as high up the league as possible , hopefully in second place if as looks likely Edinburgh are going to finish top .to do that the Bandits have to come through both of these meetings with all six points -
I'm fed up with all of the excuses being made for Darcy's behaviour , how many times do we have listined to the same old story ? He's appoligised in the past for his previous misdemeanours but he doesn't seem to learning from his mistakes does he ? Using this the second time this season he's been asked to take a breath test before a meeting ? I would have thought that would have been a wake up call . He's been totally unprofessional IMHO , you can't imagine that someone like Marc Marquez or Valentino Rossi would be out drinking the night before a GP or that they would be unable to compete the next because of the effects of that night out would you .? Hopefully a spell on the sidelines will give him time to reflect on his behaviour and he will decide to knuckle down and concentrate on his on track activities .
-
IMHO He should receive at least an 18 month ban maybe that would give him time to reflect on his behaviour
-
Only slightly over ? The limit is zero for a reason it doesn't mater if your 1 milligram ore 100 if you're over you're over. Getting bad news is also no excuse for hitting the bottle . if you where stopped by the police driving down the motorway and found to be over the limit I don't think that that defence would work
-
If Middleditch has actually said that then he's a bigger numpty than I thought he was , nobody forced Ward to drink , or is he suggesting that his lime cordial was spiked ?
-
Alcohol limit in speedway is zero , he should've known better , second time this season he's been tested

Bandits V Rebels Sat 16/8/14

A great result for the Bandits last night I especially when you take in to consideration the riders we where missing , Jensen was in fantastic form and seamed to be revealing in the conditions , it's an interesting thought that he may return to reserve when the new averages come into affect . I thought that Somersett where probably worthy of their point and maybe if Charles Wright hadn't of be so awful they might have pushed us harder . I wouldn't be so confident of a big away win depends if our guys can get to grips with the tight tack at Rye , if we start the meeting well and can get in front early doors then we might just be able to hold on , personally I'll take any kind of away win -

A good win for the Bandits against a Sheffield side that, Simon Stead apart were poor but you can only race what's on track against you, it was good too see most of the the riders on form and scoring big points . I 'd like hope David will sort himself out before Tuesday night as the next two meetings at will be far tougher than tonights opposition and will go a long way to determining were we will finish in the league -

No matter what peoples personal thoughts on Kelvin are it should always be remembered that he was a class act , some may argue maybe he wasn't one of the greatest of team players around , he gave his all , even when he was due a substantial sum of of money from the club . Anyone who traveled to Oxford for the gold cup final and saw his and Mikeal Blixt's horrific crash ( after the cup had been won incidentally ) couldn't doubt his commitment . Personally I wouldn't like to see him get any abuse from the Bandits fans that kind of behaviour does the club no favours at all . -
If Alex is the answer , What's the question ?
