Excited are you ? Whatever floats your boat !

Everyone seems to be certain that Carr is nailed on , I suspect there might be more clubs than Berwick looking to sign him , question is how much are Berwick prepared to pay to secure his services ? Personally I'd rather see them pay him a wee bit more than sign a duff overseas rider

wow very nasty , fingers crossed for Jason

Dick Barie is in Australia, long trip back for a night in the B&G

Some promoters are far to busy trying to stab each other in the back too see the " big picture "

TBH. I can't see the N/L being a viable option as things stand ATM , the main reason being there's no local opposition unless the league structure changes our nearest local team would probably be Buxton , and they're hardly going to make up for losing the likes of Edinburgh or Glasgow are they ?

It's a pity he's not still involved in the sport in some capacity, he was a great guy new how to build good teams too , might have been a bit of a rogue but so where guys like Mike Parker the sport needs a few more characters.

I sometimes think that speedway promoters have a " Field of Dreams " attitude to meetings - " If we stage it they will come "

Who Is Going To Be Harkess's Successor?
DSC67 replied to heathen chemistry's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Send a letter to Santa Claus and he may grant you a Christmas wish , be cause there is as much chance of it happening that way than there is of an independent body being set up anytime soon -

Berwick V Rye House: Saturday 5th September
DSC67 replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
In the mid 1960's Lord Shawcross was commissioned by the Royal Automobile Club to do a report into Speedway , which at that time was in turmoil ( nothing new there then ) , from of his conclusions we saw the setting up of The New National League , of which Berwick where founder members , this of course led to the Premier League we have today .He also recommended that the sport was run by an independent ruling body , almost 50 years later we are still waiting on that to happen ,until we can remove blinkered self interest, and petty oneupmanship from the people running speedway it will never move on -

Any of the team would be good . I wasn't meaning as rider , I was talking about using Liam a local guy to help promote the club in the local area . -

If I'm being honest I never expected to win last nights meeting, but I did however expect a better performance than that , especially at reserve, the highest averaged home reserve should not be scoring zero under any circumstances no disrespect no Oliver Greenwood but Edberg & Hall should've been able to beet him .i know the various injuries to key riders played a big part in last nights result but I still feel that we should've done better that that debacle last night , the two 1-5s in the first two heats set the tone for the meeting and Berwick never recovered , when you down the race card there was no obvious heat where we going to pull things back . Looking forward to next weekends fixtures I'd imagine it will be much the same , will there be any Bandits fans brave enough to travel to The Scotwaste Arena ? -
Fairly predictable result last night , I'd expect something similar tonight at Scunny

Squads (why They Wont Work)
DSC67 replied to heathen chemistry's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Another reason they would struggle to work is , surely riders would require a guaranteed number of meetings so they could plan their calendar , what happens to the riders not riding ? Do they sit at home and twiddle their thumbs ? Also there's always the chance that one or two squad members could be injured at the same time -

on the subject of the track it was interesting to note that most of the times where inside the previous fasted time of the season , not bad for a crap track How does Liam Carr getting clattered into the fence by Bates ( who was never 100 % in control all night ) , as for Garrity its not if he comes off its when mean there's a problem -

Well the only way to describe tonights meeting is The Good ,The Bad & The Ugly . The good being heat 13 , The Bad being the injuries to all the riders and tthe Ugly being Josh Bates's atrocious. move on Liam Carr .A meeting that was always going to be tough was made near impossible after Liam's withdrawal but some how The Bandits managed to hang in there , mostly down to the awful performances of Klindt and Bellago . Its really strange that anyone who looks at the score chart will think that Edberg had a great night , how wrong could they be he was dog awful his attitude stinks -
New Training Track(s) For Scotland

Yes , been that way since the Socks moved from Newtongrange to The Racewall -
I'd sign a speedway loving millionaire to join the promotion and help bank roll The Bandits

The bottom line is that no matter how many new investors come in or if we can find a new "Sugar Daddy " owner , there's not enough people coming through the turnstiles and that's not just happening at Berwick it's all over the country . Obtaining new investors merely lightens the losses for the rest of the promotion what needs to happen is more fans need to turn up , if we had crowds of 1000 + turning up each week things would be a lot more rosier , unfortunately until speedway takes a long hard look at itself that isn't going to happen , people aren't watching the sport in the numbers they used too anymore , why ? IMHO most are fed up with the way that speedway is heading , fed turning up watching teams missing riders because they're off racing somewhere else , fed up with watching poor racing , fed up with stupid rules , it's time to get back to basics merge the three leagues into 2 12 teams in the top league the rest in the other league , lower league to be predominantly British riders like it used to be , no guests allowed and as many teams as possible to have a NJL team to give youngsters a start in the sport
