But he was their rising star last year so they had forst call on his services for next season
-
no
-
And with the low point limit in the Championship I think this will be the composition of many teams.
-
Who do you suggest besides Ashton?
-
Incorrect. That is the case in all poistion baring rising star.
-
We would make you all very welcome at Leicester Speedway.
-
Well said & on that basis which role are you putting your hand up for?
-
The most suitable candidate will get the positions at Leicester.
-
The are volunteer as most roles in speedway are.
-
Well the riders would love it as they are contracted on a per point basis, not a position basis!

Here's a couple of great opportunities for you to help shape the public profile of the club and British speedway http://www.leicesterspeedway.com/news.php?extend.32397 SUPPORTERS of all seven Sports Insure Premiership clubs are being given the opportunity to have a say in the league’s future – and to get involved in race-night media operations. As part of a league-wide initiative launched by Premiership CEO Phil Morris, each club will be appointing a Fans’ Voice representative, and a Social Media ambassador. The Fans’ Voice representative will have the chance to join Zoom meetings hosted by Morris to discuss the status of the league as a whole with their fellow club representatives, and specifically ways in which the race-night experience for supporters can be enhanced. Meanwhile, the Social Media ambassador is a newly created race-night role which will involve working alongside each club’s existing social media team, as well as that of the BSPL. The role is primarily designed at content creation and therefore a working knowledge of social media platforms such as TikTok and Facebook/Instagram Reels would be preferable, although training will be given. This would be a role requiring access to the pits and centre-green during home meetings, and the successful applicant would need to be able to provide content at speed. If you are interested in either of these positions, you are asked to contact the club in the first instance at lions@leicesterspeedway.com Potential Fans’ Voice representatives should briefly explain why you feel you would be suitable for the position, and give an example of an idea/change to the sport which you would like to see implemented in the future. For the Social Media ambassador role, you should provide brief details as to your suitability for the position, including your previous experience with social media. All applications should be made by 5pm on Friday December 1st.

Bugger, thats a shame. But thank you for the info.

Surely Peter Adams is free on Monday nights?

If you want competition Leicester has it hard, Championship football 30k, most successful English Rugby Union club 24k, most successful basketball club 2k, Netball 1.5k county cricket (one man and their dog, but does well for sponsorship). Its bloody competitive in erms of choice for both spectator and advertising monies. They only need an Ice hockey club for a full house.
-
Poole have three advantages over other clubs IMHO. They are very well run, as the only professional sports team in the town they get very good sponsorship (which they work very hard to generate and then maintain) and then the demographics of the local population, both in terms of age and income is helpful.

Wont Kemp be to old?
-
As an alternative, install Phil Morris as CEO of league speedway (Team GB carries on as is). What he says go, he answers to no one in a similar way to Barry Hearn did in Snooker in the 80's. Phil's success is measured in three metrics, Commercial Income, spectator figures, broadcast/streaming viewing figures. Profits are ploughed back into the sport. This year he has already made the Premiership appear more professional by getting clubs to adopt a similar presentation style to the SGP's for broadcast meetings which is a small step in the right direction.

....And yet wouldnt agree to race the return at Leicester until August, which was rained off and agree to a restaging date of September.
-
I think the riders that will struggle to find a team place will be the seven point plus riders as I can only see one of these per team. Anders could well find himself in the third heat leader role unless a team chooses to "backfill" with a number of 3 pont riders.
-
Thats rather harsh on Perry. Based on seeing him ride for the Cubs, he is a bright kid that uses his brain and his throttle so will do a very good job for whoever he riders for at Championship level next season.
-
1 Chris Harris (Capt) 2 Drew Kemp 3 Danyon Hume 4 Jake Allen 5 Leon Flint 6 Arran Butcher 7 Jason Edwards according to the Poole website.
-
And who is Bomber guesting for?
-
If something like that was to happen my prefered option would be four rider teams, with only one rider allowed to be over 23 and all have to be UK nationals. Lets focus this opportunity on developing home grown tallent.
-
I dont think anyone said it was. My comment was in response to his antics on the startline putting 30 mins on a meeting. But weak start marshals can cause meeting to run longer than they should.
-
Based on dealing with him as an away rider for 11 season and a home rider this season I have never found Lawson to be a rider that arses around at the start. Maybe its a weak start marshal that is the problem.
