  1. I said a similar thing recently re cheap air flights being a thing of the past. This would be the obvious time to think maybe about 1 league with UK based riders, where teams are more balanced in terms of the difference between the best in the league and the worse are much closer. Hell, go the whole hog where 6 & 7 have to be under 21. This in turn should bring closer racing, which could help bring in new people to the sport as the drama of a race increases. If mass gatherings were allowed this year (I suspect they wont) I fear that many of the premiership teams will struggle for riders this season as they will be unable to commute between countries/leagues. Even some Championship teams will have problems. Two of Leicesters heat leaders are in Australia who are thinking about introducing a total international travel ban.
  2. Aged 49, fan since 1984, but 2019 was my best speedway year ever, as I suspect it was for all Leicester Lions fans. The Lions did the double as did the Cubs, and we also got the see the next step in the Thompson Twins career. There were Lions fans at Glasgow that waited over sixty years to see their team win the league.
  3. You can look all you like towards the ref, action very rarely happens.
  4. Because they are not working. Do you think riders would return home and be in breach of contract if they knew meetings would go ahead? Scotland have already banned events with more that 500 people. So do you really think that the season would start when you have 2 Championship clubs that cannot race at home?
  5. Try being a start marshal and having to deal with him. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
  6. I agree, I think that makes us stronger at reserve.
  7. Along with Clerk of the Course, Cubs Team Manager, Pits Marshal, Start Marshal, Presentation Teams and Stewards.
  8. Totally agree, I am always fearful when my partner has to use the stadium toilets.
  9. If my understanding is correct they are looking at the lighting situation (and it will not involve more rubble dumping).
  10. Try being the bloody start marshal for the sidecars! They are like 1,000 CC rotavators which can dig a trench from the start line to the first bend. I had blood running down the inside of my trousers as a result of being hit by flying shale. Never again.
  11. Wasnt that to cover the storm damage on the Roger Webster stand when they had to replace the wood at the back of the stand or else it would have to be closed to the public?
  12. I would imagine as its the emergency route for the ambulance it has to be kept clear at all times. This is also the reason why vans are not allowed to be parked there.
  13. The Industrial Estate which is behind the back straight.
  14. I think you will find Nick Morris was not "nicked by Leicester at the last minute" but was something that happened at the first available opportunity.
  15. That's a good point. I am unable to remember him making a decent gate at Championship level.
  16. It's not only the smaller tracks. He is poor at Leicester and is not making the progress that may expected him to do.
  17. Good signing for the rider and the club. I hope staying at Leicester and Wolves means that he is able to attract some UK based sponsors so he can invest in better machinery to continue to grow as a rider,
  18. Yes team would come in at 40.75 if I have made applied the correct 2.5% reductions.
  19. It actually says n the Lions site that its due to rider availability on Saturday nights because of TV commitments.
  20. Nothing wrong with the way the tapes were going up from where I stood.
  21. The only two decisions the ref had to make was to warn Proctor in heat one for delaying the start and then to exclude Vissing for going through the tapes.
  22. From where I was stood Mountain got second by about 10cm (And I have a very good view of the start line).
