  1. Correct, Worral for Saturday and Summers on Friday away at Scunny.
  2. I had no intention of argueing, especially the toss, just showing you the relevant section from the rule book regarding track certification. It's eight plus pages so I dont have the time to upload it onto here.
  3. It's rather complex to explain. Pop alone to the start line between 6:30-7:15 tomorrow night & I will explain if you are at the Plymouth meeting.
  4. 1. It takes us over half a day to put up the airfence 2. Because the safety certificate is for the airfence not each individual panel.
  5. Not if the changes have already been registered at the BSPA, and are awaiting approval
  6. I think you will find he is going further South rather than North.
  7. I’m hearing that Eastbourne are now allowing their riders to talk to other clubs although 3 of their riders have apparently already done deals with clubs , Up north they have been very busy with maybe 2/3 changes happening and a surprise exit with a 4th one now appealing to a club to give him a job which would result in another rider losing his team spot It's going to get interesting over the next two days.
  8. Drove to Glasgow on Friday for a meeting. Drove back Saturday (8hrs+) to Leicester. Didnt see a meeting. And both rain offs were the right decision at the time they were made. The forecast was bloody awful (weather warnings on all weather apps for LE4 on Satrurday) when the decision was made and I would rather have the opportunity to make other plans rather than stand in the drizzle, watch second rate racing (due to track conditions) and possibly see a rider pick up an unnessary injury. But the one that I really hate, is the scrape to Heat Ten and get a result declaired on a track that should never be raced on. Remember you go to a meeting for a nights entertainment.
  9. OK, so what you are suggesting is that The Gaffer drives 323 miles to the track, stands on Bend Two and then calls the meeting off based on the forecast. Also I type as someone who drove to Glasgow for the Friday night meeting and it was called off. It was the correct decision based on the forecast. It looked horrible in Glasgow from 5pm onwards but the heavy rain did not happen until 22:20 when I was walking back from Mr Singhs India.
  10. So you put more water on the track and it goes like ice. Nothing to hold the bike up. Therefore, you are advocating letting riders race on a more dangerous track but its all OK if the fans are happy.
  11. So the club gets a guaranteed income stream through rent. This makes budgeting easier. And the vendor in the shop takes all the risk having to pay rent "upfront" and carries the risk of having stock left at the end of the season. It would appear a no brainer to me that the club made the decision not to sell merch because that is financially in the best interest of the club. Remember, the Bates run Leicester as a business so would weigh up risk & reward before making any decisions.
  12. No he would'nt, he really appears to struggle to get around Leicester.
  13. Look over the last month and compare it to the first month of the season and the change in form especially away from home.
  14. It certainly was an interesting bit of track grading. Basically a bit of over watering on gates 1&3 ( flooded were the words I heard ) which coincides with Leicester having those gates for two heats in a row mid meeting which resulted in two 5 1s for the home team! Needless to say the Leicester TM and Captain were on the centre green next to the start line for the next grading and watering which resulted in the tractor having to come back out to grade all the starts after consultation with the referee who inspected the track prep & was dissatisfied as all four gates were not prepared the same..
  15. You come across as very bitter towards Leicester and the ambitions shown by the club. Didn't you also say that the Lions would rue the signing of two 2 ponit riders (the Thompson Twins) under Dickson's team building philosophy? They are currently averaging over 9 points between the in their first season in the Championship.
  16. Because by doing it this the club generate some anticipation from the fans. After all, we are now all posting about the announcement.
  17. Im told Ellis is very expensive and Becker can only ride for one UK club due to the type of work permit he was granted.
  18. I have looked at what the riders have achievied this season Morris 10.00, Douglas 9.25, Howarth 8.25, Proctor 3.50, Joe 3.50, Dan 3.25, Bates 2.75. Five of the team have increased their averages and two riders have dropped almost seven points between them. So what should "the special one" do next....
  19. Can we keep coming back to it please? Its priceless in so many ways.
  20. I did all four meetings over the weekend. And the rider of the weekend was not Ryan Douglas who looked like he could have raced another 100 heats at Berwick and still not be beaten, or Nick Morris who could be the new King of BP but Leon Flint. I was also at the British Youth training day at Leicester last month and his attitude, combined with putting into action what he was told to do really impressed me. Now granted, I have never thrown a leg over a speedway bike, but I do spend alot of time shouting at people that do.
  21. Dan & Joe have not been the same this season...... You are quite right. They have both improved dramatically. Looking at the NL (which is the only comparison you can make 2019/2021) Dan has inceased his average from 5.50 to 10.00 (+81.82%) and Joe has increased from 6.48 to 8.00 (+23.46%). This is based on the new averages from next Sunday. I would say they are outperforming all expectations (Well maybe with the exception of yours) . But why let the facts stand in the way of a social media post.
  22. It sounded expensive from where I was stood on the starline. Berwick were very unlucky. Start of the weekend for me was Flint.
