  1. I can understand Frost being upset that hardly any of his assets want to ride for his club.. However, what purpose does this serve, but to only weaken KL and deny Pboro a loan fee - so perhaps the former is what it's all about. How sad, if true...
  2. If that is actually true then I can understand that he may not be especially happy.. However, if any of his assets do not want to ride for his club, is there really anything that he can do - the precedent was surely nailed last year with AM.
  3. I'm guessing that he would want to sell off as many assets as possible should PBoro not run in 2014..
  4. Interesting interview with Hans on the GP site :- http://speedwaygp.com/news/article/2124/hans-decision-time-for-panthers? Apologies if this has been posted already...
  5. Well, welcome to Swindon Ed Kennett.. On reflection I think this is a good move for both Swindon and Ed, think the latter needed a change of scenery and what better team to go to than the EL Champions. Hopefully, Hans and Troy will be announced shortly, giving us 4 members of last years's Championship winning team. Ed should be able to increase his 6.25 average, certainly enough to allow Jason to deputise if necessary - that's potentially 5 of last year's all-conquering EL side. The excellent team morale should remain as a result. I would like to add that unlike an earlier poster, I was most impressed with Troy last year (once he got going) he was committed, team rode well and made a major contribution in ensuring that those down south finished as also-rans...
  6. I very much doubt whether he would want one Orlov... After all, Swindon are the Elite League Champions and some down Dorset way much prefer to spend their time in their rotting cardies, cursing under their breath and failing miserably to hit their festering spittoons...
  7. OK thanks for that, thought young Ashley was a 3.00... Kennett still fits though, not that I'm particularly keen,,,
  8. If what you say is true, I make it 6.63 left - that is, if Gomolski was on a massive 3.99 average That would leave enough for MJJ, how hilarious would that be (or not), Buczkowski would fit too and have heard rumours in the past about him - not that that means much. Potentially weak at reserve though...
  9. Ashley Birks is definitely one for the future and improved enormously last year, hopefully he can emulate Richie Worrall - would like to see him signed on a full contract. Regarding your earlier post would much prefer to see Jason & Zengi than Magic & Dak, however, haven't bothered to do the Maths and would be surprised if the former fits...
  10. That's a good team that is.. Kings Lynn have set the standard for 2013 with the majority of those riders able to increase their averages for next year too. Glad Simon got fixed up so quickly and a move to Sheffield will obviously fit very nicely. Early days I know but KL are serious Play Off contenders...
  11. Cheer up Crazy Robin, I can't see why Magic would suddenly shoot off to Poole and if he does, then so what...it would speak volumes about him and I don't want those types in my team. As regards baby P, I cannot see how one minute he has an assessed average of 4 and then in the 'blink of an eye' he rather strangely has an assessed average of 7, 6 (at most) would probably be fairer. I doubt he would have maintained an 8+ average over a longer period and I do believe Mr Shovlar's comments were about home meetings only. I could perhaps understand these new averages once the season has started though, it would certainly deter any dubious shenanigans..
  12. How bizarre.. The EL has lost most of the world's top riders and on the basis of this the EL will also lose the stars of the future. Not good ! I did think that the 42.5 limit for 2013 was a small step in the right direction, but if Muesli is a 6 and baby Pawlicki a 7 whilst Stead, Klindt, Cook etc are well below 6 then something is clearly out of balance. I do think it important for the sport to deny teams the opportunity to bring in 'ringers' especially towards the end of the season, but these averages are way out of kilter. Where are the future EL riders going to come from ? That is if there is to be an EL beyond 2013 what with the near end of the TV deal and all..
  13. Yeah right, he was British until the BSPA decided he wasn't.. As you well know
  14. Saddened to see that Simon has been 'given the boot' - his efforts in the Play Offs showed what he can do and were key to Swindon's ultimate victory over the Pirates in the final. I would like to wish Simon all the best for the future and thank him for his efforts over the last four years - I'm sure on a 5.75 average he will be a 'steal' for someone. On a positive note, this early announcement does give Simon plenty of time to sort things out for next year. I would guess that Swindon will be without any English riders in 2013 but I do have faith in 'the management' to put together an attractive side (despite having to shed so many points from the 2012 Elite League winning side). As for next year's team, I think it unlikely to include both Hans and Troy (unfortunately) and Troy's outburst today may well reflect this, who knows. As others have posted events seem to have made it more likely for the return of Magic and perhaps Zengi too - perhaps with the new sponsorship money though we could battle it out with Poole for Craig Cook..
  15. Don't dislike that team at all ER (with Nick at 2 and Klindt at 6), bearing in mind we have to shed a few points this year..would like to keep Troy in there somehow though.. It has been quite a week for the 2012 Elite League Champions, first Killer signs on, swiftly followed by the Excalibur sponsorship which presumably helped in today's signing of young Morris... Have heard that supermarkets down 'Blue Rinse' way have exhausted grape supplies within a few minutes of opening for some weeks now Never Mind
  16. Craig Cook has made it known he's on the market and at 5.52 I would imagine there must be a few interested parties. More than likely he will end up at Poole though...
  17. I'd have Troy back without a doubt, he's improved as the season has gone on after a dodgy start... Troy Killer Stead/Doyle Morris/Alden As for the rest, it depends on the outcome of the AGM...
  18. How about :- 1 Batch 2 Morris/Stead 3 Zengota 4 Kildemand 5 Doyle/Alden 6 7 Lampost It would be good to see some continuity with the team..
  19. The first line of your post says it all ER... 'Supporters just want to see competitive racing and a good product.' Is that what we're getting ? No ! Poole (in a 10 team League) have 72 points and BV a mere 10, stand back and consider how attractive that is to potential customers. If the big boys are too expensive (GP riders and the like), don't bother with them, cut costs (esp rider costs) and cut admission prices. Make it competitive and exciting please...
  20. I'd happily go along with that Red Robin, Batch has improved after a dodgy start and has a lower average than Hans as a result, would be happy with either of those two to add to Killer and young Nick Morris...
  21. I'm guessing that the nurse doing your 'bed bath' just woke you up a bit Starman...
  22. To be successful each year (like Poole) you have to get those improving riders on board, ideally not steal them though as the Pirates did with AM, now replaced by KK of course - Poole I believe now have the top 3 riders in the EL as a result... Swindon have been fortunate this year too, getting Killer on 4.26, he has surprised me how well he's done, despite the mechanical gremlins, young Morris is one for the future too - as things stand, these two would be the only names on my team sheet for next year at this time. Jason has done especially well, but will he improve further, whilst Simon's current average may make him an attractive proposition yet again... I'd like to see Zengi back on his 5ish average and will admit to being a huge fan of Matej Zagar... Will no doubt be an interesting winter, but it is such a shame that you have to discard riders each year that you would like to retain and that have become favourites with the supporters...
  23. Feel like I'm stalking you a bit tonight ER, sorry about that.... How many times has THJRacing called various posters 'idiot' in the last couple of days... 'Manners maketh Man', now go wash your mouth out young Lucy...
  24. Naughty naughty WK.... You must have a very delicate disposition - there is nothing racist on this thread... BTW...I don't believe The Undertones were racist either...
