  1. Bailing out now after heat 14, we all knew the result before the meeting anyway .. The format of the WTC is laughable - more no hopers in Prague too BTW... Support your Country, so C;mon England (Team GB)..
  2. On the basis of longevity (at Swindon)... Sweet Home Alabama - Skynyrd Don't Fear The Reaper - Blue Oyster and more recently (just) Ace Of Spades - Motorhead
  3. At Blunsdon tonight Kennett partnered Kildemand to two 5-1's early on, beating Skornicki and Wells and then a poor Scott Nicholls (Wells excluded).. He then came last, beaten by both Woffinden (no surprise) and Ludvig Lindgren In heat 14, he fell for no apparent reason having been passed by at least one of the Wolves riders, presumably Thorsell as he won the heat with Skornicki finally finishing third. Don't want to be too unkind to Ed, but perhaps he should withdraw due to his continuing poor form..
  4. Agree THJ Racing, it's just so kinda totally amazing... Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that Craig Cook has only been racing speedway for 3 years or so..
  5. I think he more or less ruled himself out, saying he'd rather wait a year... Agree, that he is one hell of an English prospect though....
  6. To be fair to Middlo, the choice of the 4th rider was never going to be easy, however since the Team GB (England) announcement Ed's form has gone down the pan and he is (currently) not that man... Right now I'd go for Bridger, give the young man a chance (not that it'll make much difference in the end)..
  7. Definitely wouldn't replace Birks, he (has and) is improving all the time.. Have found that this season hasn't really got going at all, limited fixtures, mostly on rainy nights too.. Looking forward to Thursday Vs Wolves - with this good weather there should be an excellent crowd and hopefully a full Swindon team at least...
  8. Welcome to Swindon Kyle... Quite happy with two young Brits at reserve although this move doesn't strengthen the side. Hopefully Ash will continue his rapid improvement, (agree with Sid), he's definitely got something and I hope the Robins sign him up permanently asap..
  9. It's good to see rational views from most Swindon supporters, whilst most Poole fans worship blinkered and blindly at the 'Temple that is Ford & Middlo'...
  10. I'm a massive fan of Rosco's, he is the life and soul of the club and delivers great PR for Swindon both locally and nationally ! Doesn't mean he is above criticism though and he doesn't always gets things right (eg. last night) Things are not so great with the Robins at the moment, but I have no doubt he will do his best to sort things out. Keep on Rockin' Rosco ('funky' shirts n' all)..
  11. Who will be in the cheating multi re-declared Poole team by that time ..and does anyone really care...
  12. Obviously purposely done in an attempt to derail the 2013 Mighty Robins season Who on earth would make such an unaccountable decision...
  13. Would seem to be an honest appraisal of events by Hans, so fair play to him... Just a shame that there was no Press Release from Swindon prior to the KL meeting ...or since for that matter... BTW...think any sort of ban a bit harsh..
  14. Enjoyed that, probably the best EL meeting I've seen on Sky this year (so far)... Well done to Troy as Captain, Killer and Nick too and a special mention for young Ash. Whetted the appetite for tomorrow, but having checked the Robins web site, there is no news of who is replacing Hans.. In fact, there is no news from Swindon or Hans at all about recent events...(very poor indeed).. Will go tomorrow though - well done Rosco & the Robins on tonight's win Oh dear wrong thread... Still it gives me the opportunity to wish Simon the quickest of all recoveries - you don't deserve it mate
  15. I was self-employed and worked for various companies, I would guess that Hans has something similar going on... ...not that I have a clue about speedway finances..
  16. I go to speedway to see a competitive meeting, 7 Swindon riders against 7 riders from the opposing team, a good track that produces exciting racing and hopefully a close finish and result... 7 riders per team would be a start (no guests, no R/R)... No one knows what Hans' problem is with Swindon (should there be one).. When I had my own company, at least 20/30% of the time I was paid late - I still did work for these companies though and always got paid in the end It was frustrating but not a deal-breaker though..
  17. I have no idea as to what Han's gripe may be, but others on here have alluded to payment issues.. I would add that everyone else has always turned out for Swindon though... BTW...you appear to have a stalker...
  18. Using Hans terminology, he is the 'So called' captain of the Swindon Robins, 2012 Elite League Champions Should he decide to ride in Denmark rather than Captain Swindon at KL tomorrow as the rules apparently state, then I agree with others - kick him out of the team immediately. Should he choose Denmark, it would obviously prove that he doesn't give a **** about the Robins (possible late pay or whatever). Personally I'm not that bothered about the Play Off's any more (or EL speedway come to that)...however, I was looking forward to both matches against KL with what looked like two full teams.. We may go Thursday, but then again we may save the £38..despite the predicted brilliant weather... Most of the people we used to take don't bother phoning any more..
  19. Last night was the ideal night to try out the lawnmower too.. Cuz no one cares...(apart from a few Cov fans),,,
  20. Have no problem with the team make up whatsoever... The problem seems to be when Hans is absent, I believe we have won every meeting when he has ridden and lost the lot when he's been absent (too many times) for whatever the reason.. We don't have the strongest reserves but Casper has had some good meetings and young Ash is one for the future and now improving at EL level by the week Swindon should still make the play offs (subject to riders missing) with ease.. The biggest factor in the EL table standings is the form of Smolinski, Proctor (when fit) and Thorsell (Klindt too)... Would admit to being a bit concerned about Ed's gradual decline in form though
  21. Congrats to Jarek, unlucky Emil and NKI... A huge well done to Tai too (given his injuries) Nice that all riders turned up too..
  22. Oh give it a rest please, I've read your opinion on the Freddie/Tai incident for pages now and I'm only up to 3:59 1st June 2013..(many pages to go yet no doubt).. We watched it live on Eurosport last night and one camera angle clearly shows the contact Freddie made on Tai.. I would suggest that you should be more concerned about the state of the track last night....it was a disgrace... BTW...I guess ultimately you will be far more concerned about the huge numbers of retired English heading your way over the next few years
  23. Only got home in time to see the last 10 heats, had no idea of yesterday's practice issues. I suppose they made the best of a bad job, but that track was dangerous and the meeting should have been abandoned. Far too many riders hitting ruts and being catapulted everywhere and there were the injuries too.....how lucky was Freddie It did make the processional heats more interesting in the sense of. who will 'come a cropper' unaided next.. Not good enough though, whatever the excuses...
  24. It's all bollocks ain't it SCB...
  25. I preferred the old format, but to be honest the SS still gives all the latest news and results...which is the reason why I buy it, so not overly bothered.. Having said that, I too would still like the results done by league - I read the Adam Ellis article and then had to plough through all the Leagues just to see a couple of his scores. I would also like to see all team's riders averages asap - I believe this is still yet to appear this season - although my copy didn't arrive today as it should have. As for the team articles, I usually have already read the Swindon ones (seemingly word for word) - they appear to be repeats. Having said all this, I do appreciate that the guys/girls at SS do a great job in getting the publication out each week and I enjoyed reading the interviews with Scott Nichols and the brief revisit to previous British finals in last weeks issue Keep on keeping on...
