  1. I get the impression from the various promotions that we're lucky to have a team - so we should support it or else.. I can understand this to a point - when so many other teams have disappeared over the years. There are a lot of good posts on the BSF that the various promotions should take note of and try and act upon (wheat amongst chaff etc) however, their usual response is if you don't come. then you'll lose it.. As a regular, I find this disheartening as I'm paying my money most weeks only to be told that I'm not a good enough supporter. This, despite the fact that I have taken loads to Blunsdon, one or two still go occasionally, most of the others don't though.. If I was running the Club, I would want to know why...
  2. As you allude too, there are so many easy targets that could be denied free Health Care as has been proposed by a small number of MP's and a bigger number of vested interests... Does anyone really want to end up in Hospital though.. Denying Health Care would be a dangerous precedent and ultimately lead to the end of the 'free' NHS.. I'm just glad that Tufty taught me how to cross the road properly...
  3. What about those that participate in and suffer injuries from 'dangerous' sports, for example speedway riders... Would you object to the tax payer (NHS) funding their treatment too...
  4. Sorry Agrotron that is an appalling post... What has Mr Gadd's (Glitter) pedophila got to do with anything here
  5. Best wishes Michael.. Leave him alone, he was the most talented rider I ever saw - up there with young Darcy.. Who are any of you to judge
  6. That's almost a French strawberry Starman and it's not the most well known of sayings either... Had to google it...
  7. Not true, you and me could have achieved what Middlo has done this year... He may be a nice bloke, but he's just a totem and not up to the job There is no 'team spirit' in Team GB (England) and his tactical skills are questionable at best. The riders available may not be good enough to win the WTC, but a passionate Manager that does more than fill in the program might help. Having said that, the powers that be in British Speedway seem not to be that bothered...(at all)..
  8. Have often wondered how Middlo qualified as GB Team Manager (he doesn't).. Surely he is just a B&B for Poole Speedway..
  9. Can't understand the calls for Havvy, he just comes across as a Northern Wurzel and what has he ever achieved as a Manager.. I did see his tweet using Rico's kids though - I thought that was especially poor, but he didn't seem bothered Sad...
  10. Why does everyone miss the point, if the BSPA don't invest in the youngsters, then their is no future. The likes of Worrall, Birks and Lambert etc have made a mark, despite, not because of the BSPA.. As for Middlo, he is probably the bluntest knife in the rack, couple that with Poole's attitude to British riders and what have you got.. Tonight..
  11. Don't particularly like to say it but congratulations to Australia - they deserved the victory ! What is really galling is that Team GB (England) have been beaten by both Latvia and the USA (well done Greg Hancock) tonight. I don't want to blame any of the riders, they did their best, including Ed Kennett & Craig Cook However, the BSPA and the Team Manager (who couldn't be bothered to ratify his position) should be so ashamed of themselves - I repeat, so ashamed....hang your heads guys... No doubt, as per usual, there will be no comment, inquest or investment and ultimately no plan for the future and the decrepit decline will continue I'm afraid your 'watch' has killed/is killing British Speedway stone dead - whilst you sit on your arses in your 'Ivory Towers'..making a living whilst you destroy British Speedway Take Note... Am off to the pub now...
  12. So it goes...(a Nick Lowe song I believe).. Agree with Keef, Immigrant Song is another favourite at Blunsdon. Strangely I can't ever remember Swindon's finest XTC being played though...
  13. How about Gene Vincent or the Louvin Brothers ? Have you listened to Johnny Cash's 'American Recordings' produced by Rick Rubin which have had tremendous reviews over the period and treat JC with the respect he deserves.. Have often thought you deserve your own thread - to see if any of us can find an artist/song etc post 1963 that you would enjoy.. I'm sure there's someone out there..
  14. Personally I would have been very pleased for Ed (Swindon and GB) too..
  15. Bailing out now after heat 14, we all knew the result before the meeting anyway .. The format of the WTC is laughable - more no hopers in Prague too BTW... Support your Country, so C;mon England (Team GB)..
  16. On the basis of longevity (at Swindon)... Sweet Home Alabama - Skynyrd Don't Fear The Reaper - Blue Oyster and more recently (just) Ace Of Spades - Motorhead
  17. At Blunsdon tonight Kennett partnered Kildemand to two 5-1's early on, beating Skornicki and Wells and then a poor Scott Nicholls (Wells excluded).. He then came last, beaten by both Woffinden (no surprise) and Ludvig Lindgren In heat 14, he fell for no apparent reason having been passed by at least one of the Wolves riders, presumably Thorsell as he won the heat with Skornicki finally finishing third. Don't want to be too unkind to Ed, but perhaps he should withdraw due to his continuing poor form..
  18. Agree THJ Racing, it's just so kinda totally amazing... Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that Craig Cook has only been racing speedway for 3 years or so..
  19. I think he more or less ruled himself out, saying he'd rather wait a year... Agree, that he is one hell of an English prospect though....
  20. To be fair to Middlo, the choice of the 4th rider was never going to be easy, however since the Team GB (England) announcement Ed's form has gone down the pan and he is (currently) not that man... Right now I'd go for Bridger, give the young man a chance (not that it'll make much difference in the end)..
  21. Congrats to Jarek, unlucky Emil and NKI... A huge well done to Tai too (given his injuries) Nice that all riders turned up too..
  22. Oh give it a rest please, I've read your opinion on the Freddie/Tai incident for pages now and I'm only up to 3:59 1st June 2013..(many pages to go yet no doubt).. We watched it live on Eurosport last night and one camera angle clearly shows the contact Freddie made on Tai.. I would suggest that you should be more concerned about the state of the track last night....it was a disgrace... BTW...I guess ultimately you will be far more concerned about the huge numbers of retired English heading your way over the next few years
  23. Only got home in time to see the last 10 heats, had no idea of yesterday's practice issues. I suppose they made the best of a bad job, but that track was dangerous and the meeting should have been abandoned. Far too many riders hitting ruts and being catapulted everywhere and there were the injuries too.....how lucky was Freddie It did make the processional heats more interesting in the sense of. who will 'come a cropper' unaided next.. Not good enough though, whatever the excuses...
  24. It's all bollocks ain't it SCB...
