What is the point in a last minute call up to the ancient Leigh Lanham.. No disrespect to him, but surely an up and coming youngster should have been given the opportunity and the experience.. Very poor..

There is no doubt that Nicki is a bit of a knob, but he is a great entertainer too.. Apparently the Aussie Brains Trust (Noddy and Darcy) cant stand him.. A bit of a shame that Matej Z didn't do a better job on Saturday, but it made me and the remaining few I speak to about speedway laugh out loud..

Congrats to the Wolves - I didn't expect that especially when 34-20 up.. Looks to be a big mistake in getting rid of Nicolai and/or not replacing Dak.. I'm a big fan of Rosco, but he definitely needs to pull that 'rabbit form the hat' now !

Matej can be a great team rider and heat 13 just proved that Steve..

I reckon this to be the best EL meeting of the season so far (on Sky of Bet365)... Enjoying this one, which I can't say for many others..

Starman, telling a fellow poster to go and play with the traffic on the M25 is actually a bit more than a tad harsh ! Anyway, let's move on, to be honest, if Mr Shovlar has decided at this juncture not to post on here anymore, it does come across as (your) 'sour grapes' due to all the recent Poole defeats. I have enjoyed many of Steve's posts over the years, although they have become very formulaic in recent times.. However things move on and I doubt anyone really cares whether he posts or not and the name of Poole Speedway (on here) might improve as a result. "Happy Days"

That's a tad harsh Starman ! If Steve doesn't want to post on here anymore then that's his prerogative, why there has to be an announcement about it is beyond me.. I suspect he'll be back once Poole start winning again and improve their team in time for the Play Offs - he won't be able to resist. In the meantime..."Happy Days"... As for tomorrow, surely a Poole win and all 3 points...

You seem to forget that a speedway meet is 15 heats - if you don't get that, then surely it is then that you have been robbed..

Grow up... No wonder the sport is suffering with supporters like yourself, what a ridiculous comment (above). Unfortunately, tonight, is just another poor meeting in poor conditions on a poor track (due to weather) You obviously want to watch 10 heats of pure sh!te - just to get a result..(very sad).. Well done to Bham, if it reaches the end, then they deserve the victory.

Both Rolf Gramstad and Steen Mastrup joined the Robins, I'm guessing now in about 1979 (my mum threw all my attic stuff away since)... Rolf became my favourite rider as a youngster and I ran him into him once outside what used to be called 'Paperback Parade', just off the Wyvern Square It was a big moment for me and he was most friendly, I was hugely disappointed when he left Swindon and devasated when he had his bad accident ! Does anyone know how he is these days ? Edited to add that perhaps it might have been nearer 1981... Best Wishes to Rolf anyway...

Please don't give Steve such a hard time.. He called me after Poole's 2nd defeat in a row, in tears he was, yet he found the strength to say 'Yer', to which I slowly replied 'Yeah'.. After his tears had mostly stopped, he let on that there were some very 'ugly birds' 'Ooop North' that he hasn't shagged yet and that he has a duty to pursue this.. I believe that Poole Speedway's current inability to win at any cost is having this most detrimental effect on Steve's well-being.. Should you see him on your travels and you're brave enough, give him a big cuddle....(if you're ugly though - beware)..

Thought the meeting would reach it's natural conclusion..quite shocked it's been called off TBH.. Heat 11 looked fine to me, the rain in Old Town has recently stopped, although I am aware that Blunsdon has it's own micro-climate.. Heh Ho..

Edited to add that Swindon could have taken the win after Heat 10, but unlike Poole some teams play 'the game' sportingly..

Happy Soul aren't you... Apparently the 'drama queen' is on holiday - Rome apparently according to reports.. As for the meeting itself, well done to the Track Staff for getting the track raceable and the meeting on especially considering it has rained non stop since the start.. There is no pleasing some miserabilists..

Totally agree BB, once the meeting got going (around heat 5 or 6), it was highly entertaining.. Far better racing than what I have seen of the supposed EL this year

Agree totally CR, the latest incarnation as a Swindon Fan ruins it for most of us on here.. Before too long she will be outed.. she does have connections with Pboro.. Hopefully it won't be too long until she is unwelcome at every track in the Country.. mind you, I hear she is too lardy to go anywhere and just relies on inside info from contacts to quickly post on here..

I am presently watching the stream for free, but somehow still feel 'short-changed'.. Very sad to see such a great sport reduced to this level.. .
