I think Middlo should have a round of applause for managing to stick a few words in the right order.. He is after all, one light bulb short of a light.. As for you Gater

Darcy Ward and 'nose clean' in the same sentence seems a bit 'risque' to me Philip... I would guess that you're probably right though re 2016 GP's assuming Darcy is not on the p*ss for the length of his suspension/ban and can return to the form of his younger self.. BTW...Congrats to Cov for their convincing POSF win Vs the less than Mighty Robins - I did a Shovlar and buggered off abroad for a while, thought I'd got the timing all wrong but events at Blunsdon proved otherwise..

Well done Cov, thought we might have run you a bit closer than that.. All still to play for though... -

Track not that good, especially the 3rd bend, hope the racing improves.. What a brilliant Irish accent Simon has.. Garrity going very well -
Cricket commentators change every 20 minutes rushing from TMS to Sky et al.. I really can't understand the criticism of NIgel and Kelvin..(I know they're not great).. However we do actually get to watch live speedway with some commentary that let's us know what is going on.. Not so long ago, BBC Wiltshire used a plumber to be the informative 'voice of the people' for STFC matches - that really was a joke..

As you state, George's career was over...Oh...
-
Don't compare the two WK George Best liked a drink or two, but was no trouble.. He didn't have the kindergarten attitude of Darcy nor the issues and problems that Darcy seems to continually involve himself in.. Only one of the two will be remembered as a 'great' and for his contribution to sport...

Don't think Matt Ford is thinking that way.. He might actually have to go Coventry for whichever leg of the final - or most likely conjure a good excuse for his absence again.. Consequently he is currently on his knees praying to his God that Swindon are victorious.. He no doubt has 'one eye' on the Poole coffers too.. -

The same could be said of Swindon, will Killer score just the 2 as he did at BV, Simon's scores are all over the place too.. As for Cov, Garrity is in great form at reserve and a convincing win for them last night despite the 2015 GP Harris managing a hapless 3+2 - will he be sorted and will the enigma that is Hansen score like he did last night.. Think this will be quite close over the 2 legs, hopefully the Robins will suffice and put the Pirates 'to the sword' in the final.. -

Hard lines KL, you deserve to finish top.. Will Poole's Pinky and Perky be brave enough to pick the Robins, if they do it will be for the money and the money only.. -
What absolute nonsense... Simon Stead would never 'fence' anyone...he's just not that type.. Get a grip Starman

To be honest Sid, I would argue that speedway doesn't need characters like Darcy.. As he has intimated in his tweet, he has let Poole Speedway down, he has let his sponsors down and probably most sadly of all he has let the Poole Speedway fans down too...(not to mention his other clubs, sponsors and supporters) - does any sport need such characters ? If he were available to ride now, the Play Off's would be a far more attractive proposition than they currently are - injuries are part and parcel of speedway, but 'failing to hydrate' (drinking too much) is not excusable in a professional sport and he, like anyone else should accept any punishment forthcoming. I would add, that he is/was an incredible talent, and I believe he should and would be dominating World Speedway if he was a true professional - sadly (for him mostly) he is not...

Indeed Jacques.. Knobland is strangely very very quiet tonight.. Where is Skidder et al -,they are nowhere to be seen ! Is there a full moon in 'deepest darkest' where weird rituals take precedence As for Mr Shovlar - although he got a bit repetitive and predictable towards the end, prior to that he was mostly entertaining with his bigoted Pro-Poole posts... As for the PO's - Swindon do seem to be running into a bit of form of late (assuming Eastie don't beat us to it).. Long way to go yet though.. -

YerRopes replied to Woz01's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Excellent performance from all of the Rockinest.Robins tonight... Got my prediction for tonight totally wrong,,, a good thing, but would never have predicted that score line ! Noticeable that Skidder and his trusty lapdog haven't commented tonight - they usually can't resist, but must be running scared methinks... Well done Swindon, hard lines Cov - it ain't all over yet... -
Strangely enough Keef, the only person I know who is willing to 'go to the speedway' these days was initially a Reading fan, then an Oxford fan and now lives in one of the surrounding Swindon villages and supports the Robins.. Can't be the same though can it..
-
Oh Starman please, don't tease us all so.. Do tell.....
-
Kid Morra has been a brilliant signing for the Robins... Still so young with tons of potential, can't really understand any of the negative comments..

YerRopes replied to Woz01's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Finally, a meeting that is well worth attending, and I can't go (could have done so on Thursday though).. Anyway, Swindon need all 3 points against Cov to maintain a PO challenge. Both teams are in good form and hopefully the Rockinest Robins will win the day ! But Swindon 2pts, Cov 1 pt will most likely prevail.. -
Pure supposition Skidder.. If what you state is true, I would doubt he would currently be 'unavailable'.. Unfortunately he has a 'track record' of alcohol/drug induced misdemeanors too.. BTW..all riders need "all the support they can get", the majority of which are far more derserving..

Swindon V Wolves Thursday 4th Sept
YerRopes replied to Adder's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Read somewhere that Rory Schlein is guesting for Tai and R/R for Baby P.. Not really a very attractive fixture as a result, however Thorsell appears to be improving in' leaps and bounds' If Swindon can sneak in the Play Off's, they might just have a chance.. Anyway, a convincing home victory should be the 'order of the day'..
