  1. Me angry ? You're more bonkers than I thought.. Twenty/thirty years ago winning the top league in British Speedway meant something, today it means diddly-squat.. Give me a good competitive meeting and an entertaining night out and I'm happy.. Enjoy your winning but I really don't think most people care that much anymore.
  2. Poole cheating again ? Surely not... However, just take a look at Poole's team as compared to Leicester's this season.. And please.Poole fans just occasionally show some class - without the rest of the EL you wouldn't be able to win so many trophies
  3. I'll raise that by four.. Swindon 38-54 Belle Vue
  4. Congratulations to Poole on another annihilation of the opposition... Not my idea of an entertaining night out, but the Poole fans do get to wave their blue flags about
  5. Congratulations to the rampant Pirates albeit against the weakest Swindon side I can remember.. Thought we might have scored half a dozen more, all from Nick Morris, but he didn't turn up and neither did Tungate. Poole should win the EL with ease and hand out many similar drubbings at Wimborne Road this year. It looks to be a long hard season for the Robins though !
  6. Matt Ford 'blowing his own trumpet'.. http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/speedway/piratesnews/14243411.Speedway___You_re_wrong___Poole_Pirates_promoter_Matt_Ford_fires_defiant_message_to_Alun_Rossiter/?
  7. Not when goggles (or the lack thereof) are involved... A ridiculous ban..
  8. Ron, Sid and Doris must be doing the hokey-cokey in some cheap backwater hostelry as we speak..
  9. Forgot to mention Sam Ermolenko, I had a bit of a break from speedway when he started to make an impact.. I did continue to get the SS though and tried to keep up to date.. I would put Sam above the Moran brothers as much as I used to like watching them..
  10. As a youngster Scott Autrey was one of my favourite riders.. Used to dislike Steve Gresham immensely despite watching him ride every week for the Bulldogs, but then I've always been a Robin.. Dennis Sigalos was probably my latter day favourite although Kelly and Shawn Moran were the best to watch when they could be bothered (ie not distracted by life outside of the sport).. Penhall was a great rider brilliant in attracting publicity for the sport - I still wanted KC to win in LA..(oh dear).. Lance King, Boogaloo, Billy Hamill, John Cook etc although good riders were always outside the top tier of American riders for me.. I must admit it would be brilliant for the sport today if the Yanks were as strong as they used to be..such a shame..
  11. SCB highlighted it for me (and no doubt many others) when he started this thread.. So surely a big well done to him for that Custer...
  12. Good point Baggy.. SCB's use of the word 'retard' has actually detracted from the original important point he was trying to make.. However, well done to him for highlighting the 'dumber than dumb' attitude of one of our hapless and hopeless promoters..
  13. And faggots too.. Saw Johnny Thunders with the Heartbreakers in Bristol many moons ago, Having finished their set, Mr Genzale obviously got his fix immediately afterwards, during which most people left thinking there was no encore, only for the band to return to play a longer second set some time later.. Quite a fab gig, sadly marred though by BCFC supporters forcing entry and bottling a few innocents, an elderly guy on the door was quite seriously hurt...
  14. Did you know that.. In 1984 Shawn Moran released a cover version of the 1975 Chris Spedding single, "Motor Bikin'" The challenge has been laid down..
  15. I was a Carter fan but realised and still do that it was the likes of Penhall, Sigalos, the Moran Brothers and Boogaloo that made that era of British speedway so great.. As for Kenny, what a desperately sad end for so many, god knows where his head was at... Never particularly liked BP, but he was brilliant for British speedway at the time, until he skulked off that is !
  16. For me, the obvious candidates are Andersen and Lindgren... Following that Adam Elllis, Dak North, Robert Lambert and a long shot in Bjarne Pedersen..
  17. About two/three years ago I was told by those supposedly ITK, (not you Skidder ) that the multi-aliased one is unfortunately one very very fat lonesome girlie.. Life hasn't been kind has it..
  18. Overall, am pretty pleased with the 2016 Robins... Would have liked to have Hans in that line up though, especially on his low average.. However, it is a team of racers as others have mentioned and so there is lots to look forward too come KO next season BTW...was pleasantly surprised that Dak signed up again (especially after the various comments stating otherwise from Knobland)
  19. Basically the story is.. Dak is yet another rider that gets dumped by Poole... To back up their rather ridiculous excuses for replacing him in the PO's, supposed ITK Poole fans create a smokescreen stating that Dak will stay at home to look after his dad during 2016. According to said Poole supporters he would prefer do this rather than progress his promising career... Surprise, surprise, other clubs want him and so he signs for them... At least 3 offers from the EL, together with various other foreign deals.. What a big load of bollocks the Poole spin is
  20. A big welcome back to Morra and Dak There is definitely potential in the 2016 Robins side, yet I'd still have the Pirates as favourites.. Apparently Dak was chased by a number of EL clubs, so I'm pleased he decided to choose Swindon, just shows that some Poole supporters know f**k all Good post from our Kiwi correspondent elsewhere that we would be stronger with Batch.. Probably true, but he is such a bottler (esp in the wet)... Am happy with the team and we should just make the PO's..
  21. Not according to those ITK at Poole.. According to their 'sauces' he's playing nurse back home in OZ during 2016..
