Ipswich Witches 2024 serious team predictions
siggysigalos replied to SamKM91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Totally agree, using guests all the time becomes a bit flat, yes results are excellent so who am i to moan, but as a Witches fan who travels Home and Away, i'd much rather see a new Rider come in for Doyley, whoever it is will struggle to get anywhere near to what Jason brings to this team, but i agree, it sums the sport up in the UK if Guests are continuosly used right through to the Play Offs and Cup Final, i know how hard they are trying to get one in, but one must come available soon and i for one would like a Permanent replacement for Jason sooner rather than later. -
King's Lynn v Oxford 17/06/24
siggysigalos replied to Bald Bloke's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I decided to pop over to watch this meeting tonight to get my Speedway fix. Have to say very disappointed with Oxford(Not Janowski),but never really put up much of a fight,in fact a Feeble effort for a side who sit in 4th place, and King's Lynn didn't have to do a lot to win the meeting. Surprised at the Small Crowd, but I suppose with Eurosport covering it made some stay at home. Kvech went well, we will see how long that lasts, but early signs tonight are good. Anders Rowe is really impressing me at the moment, looks fast and tries to Team Ride all the time. Basso weighed in with good points as well. Good win for Lynn, plus the Bonus Point, which helps them in catching the Brummies for 6th Place. If they get the Musielak situation sorted, then they have a strong 1-7 who could certainly go on a run of good results and who knows where they could finish. Enjoyable evening, well done the Stars, dissappointing from the Spires. -
After the 3 Hour Drive, I was stunned to get to Oxford and it was Dry. Drizzle did start after Heat 1,and got gradually worse upto end of Heat 6. On the Situation in Heat 6, Tungate knew what he was doing, but for me the track on Bend 3 and 4 didn't look safe. I didn't look at this Dry Window you guys are suggesting, so can't comment on that, but it did come down heavy and it wasn't raceable whilst heavy rain was coming down. Not sure what to say if Oxford were winning by 10, would they wanted to carry on, I think getting to Heat 10 would of been an effort. Long way to go, but that's the Sport I'm afraid, but we were flying, especially Adam Ellis, but time to move onto Leicester next Thursday and possibly Danny King's return.
-
Forecast was poor, but its the hope it's wrong and we get some sort of meeting. But must admit this isn't looking good, and it seems Leicester making the earlier call was the right one.
-
On Route....47 Minutes away to be fair ...But can safely say its raining....Heavy ???

Great Shout on Danny, he surely wont be up to scratch for at least 2 or 3 meetings. I have said we have got lucky with Guests, but maybe that should of been worded that Ritchie has got them spot on, we also must remember we have only lost 2 meetings all season. So even with all the injuries, you are right we have definetly got ourselves in a great position, as iv'e said, id like Doyley's replacement in sooner rather than later, but i do agree it has to be the right rider and not a bad egg.
-
I do agree with wait until the right rider comes in, as ive said we don't want any bad egg coming in and spoiling what we have this season. I think my point was more i don't like hearing we can afford to lose a few, i go Home and Away, and yes thats through many many bad years, trust me, so i know we have been starved of success, but it's also a confidence and momentum sport, and it worries me the longer it takes, and as its been said, we can lose a few, then confidence from our younger riders may start to dwindle. I know Doyley is irreplaceable, so whoever we get has got a tough job on their hands, but i just think in time it's better to have a New rider in rather than guests, but i agree with you all if we have to wait so be it. Danny is hopefully back next Thursday, so that helps. I also agree that there doesnt seem to be a lot out there, Kings Lynn could only manage Jan Kvech, Belle Vue look likely to of lost Brady Kurtz for a while if not the whole season and who knows what they will bring in, so the list is minimal, although i expect Belle Vue at some stage to bring in Robert Lambert (That's a shoe in). As ive said on other posts i know that Vaculik and Dudek are a complete No Go. I suppose it's my passion coming out and i need to Wait like the rest of you.
-
All Points above I get and to an extent I agree with. But on the point where we are in the Final of the Cup and we should get Top 4, which means we should be in Play Offs come September is saying we can afford to lose a few meetings etc and still be safe whilst using Guests and R/R. I disagree with this as its ok to start with, and I think we have been very lucky with Guests since all these injuries started, but losing a few meetings coz we are safe will start to effect riders confidence in the long run, so why accept its ok to just lose a few, and what about the supporters that travel everywhere to keep watching Guests and those that travel and think it's ok tonight we can afford to lose this. I do understand the right person has to come in, and we don't want anybody in the management doesn't trust,of course I get that, you don't want no bad egg coming in at this stage, but I certainly wouldn't want to wait to say August to get the right man in (Lambert). Yes I know for a Fact they are trying their hardest, and I for one trust the process, but I don't want to go watch us in away meetings with the attitude we can afford to lose this one, you can't win every meeting either, but I'd rather watch us lose with a team that knows each other come September than a team that has gone through the motions. I also must add Jason Doyle is irreplaceable,so I understand the extent of the task getting the right rider in, but for me personally who goes Home and Away I would hope a new Number 1 is in sooner rather than later. I don't think the attitude of being in a good position warrants using Guests and R/R for the next few meetings coz we can afford to lose a few. This Sport hinges on momentum and Rider Confidence, and a few defeats coz it's ok, would effect confidence in our younger riders in JJ,Rew and Dan Thompson, who have all waded in with vital points this season, why would we want to risk them losing any confidence. I will be at Oxford tomorrow night(Weather Permitting)cheering the boys on,but I agree with an original post, this looks like a meeting that could finally catch up with us. Hope to see a few Witches fans tomorrow night, as my previous visit to Oxford this season was a brilliant night, not just coz of the result, but again this Speedway family that never let's us down(apart from the Sheffield bend army)the Oxford supporters were excellent company.

King’s Lynn 2024 serious team predictions

Totally Agree with those comments, very dissappointing if he has decided to quit Lynn, and even as an Ipswich fan, their supporters do get dished up with some poor decisons and false hope, they deserve better. But Musielak would certainly be decent for Ipswich, but it's only rumour, but it has now been going around for about 10 Days that he's not returning to Lynn. -
Ipswich v Sheffield Monday 10th June
siggysigalos replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
On last night, a good win for Ipswich, but should be expected even if we are still short of 2 Riders. We all know Chris Holder is nothing short of Rubbish around Foxhall, and he proved that again last night and thought Edwards was dissappointing as well. But what a ride from Dan Gilkes to beat Emil fantastic effort from the youngster and words fail me on Tai in Heat 15, but hes an entertainer, very quick last night to be fair, and after the meeting was pleasing to see he stayed around for photo's and autographs with quite a few Ipswich Supporters, which was made even better as he was getting a lift back with Simon Stead, who sat in his van patientlly waiting, and was clearly getting agitated. Onto us, and as i say another solid win, with everybody chipping in, pleased for Dan Thompson in Heat 10, as his 2 earlier rides were woeful, Jordan is picking up vital points which is great to see and as for Keynan, he really is finally coming to the party. But for me rider of the night was Adam Ellis, looks quick and his Team Riding was exemplary, could turn out to be a very key signing. Emil,Scotty and Bomber all deliverd at times when they needed to, so all in all, a good win. Now i will travel to Oxford on Thursday, and i hope Bomber has a bad meeting, all very bizarre, it's ok having guests, but maybe i'm moaning and i'm wrong, but think it's time the Doyley situation was sorted. Tom Brennan is riding for Lynn, thats 1 guest i thought would be in for us, so who knows where we will turn to for Thursday, Scotty again maybe or Blodorn, certainly wont be any out of Tai,Jack Holder,Lindgren or Bewley, won't be long before we know im sure. -

Very interesting news and rumours on Musielak, always thought he was a decent guy and a good racer, when he signed for you boys at Lynn, i thought that was a great move, but does look a bit like muddy water again. I hope not for you Supporters, again i suppose time will tell. -

It would seem Michelsen deal is dead in the water. Hope I'm wrong, and source has heard it wrong, but that's the rumour this morning I'm afraid. -

I would take Phil Mickelson before Laguta and I doubt he's anywhere near the top 22 -

I must admit I just assumed Guy was also involved, but I knew Chris and Ritchie were working so hard to bring a rider of GP quality in. So if it is Chris, fair play to him, it seems it's a nightmare trying to get these deals over the line in Speedway. -

I wouldn't say I'm a 100% Certain Kevin, but it seems Mr Michelsen could be close to becoming a Witch in next few days. But as we all Know in this Sport, 1 Phone Call,a Dodgy Visa or something else like Laguta not being brave enough to turn up every week, things can change very quickly. -

It seems a few who have named our Doyle Replacenent could be right and announcement is imminent, the hard work by Chris and Ritchie and I'm sure Guy Nicholls may soon be rewarded with a GP Rider signing. -
Ipswich v Sheffield Monday 10th June
siggysigalos replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yes there is a bit of Dis Taste towards Tai after last Season's antics from those Witches fans that travelled, and clearly heard what he said. But that's Sport at the Top level and as its been said on here by so many, that is Tai Woofinden, it's how he is. That has gone from Last Season, Sheffield won it coz we couldn't defend an 18 Point Lead and they are the current Champions. But we go into Monday with a Decent Septet, all be it with 2 Guests, but Good Guests to give Sheffield a right tough meeting. For me it will be close,as it should be from 2 of the top 3 teams in the League this season. And I would also think our Big Change at the top is close to being announced. So many Names been mentioned, and the wait can be painful for us Fans, but knowing how hard Chris and Ritchie are working to get the right man in, I'm sure the wait will be worth it. -
Positives for the Brummies last night in Lindgren needed no time to settle and Tom Brennan and Viktor Lampart also looked quick. I think you obviously lost the Semi Final at Home on Monday,8 points up and fail to take a lead was worrying for the Birmingham boys. But last night at Reserve for me was your huge problem,Leon Flint tried hard, but just didn't get involved in enough races, but I agree,Pawlicki looked woeful,I praised him up on Monday, and to be fair said to some Brummie Supporters I think it will be Zack Cook that goes, but don't know if that was the correct decision. Trouble is who is out there for you to bin Pawlicki, hope it gets sorted,as enjoyed my 2 visits to Birmingham this season. Good Club, great Supporters.

Kings Lynn v Sheffield 6/6

Maybe he has managed to convince Jan Kvech over, and he comes on a 6 point average apparantly. Or even better for the Stars Robert Lambert is coming back, if so all good for the British Speedway scene. -

I wouldn't think Laguta is in their plans at the moment, as i said i wouldn't rule him out, but he will be a last ditch desperate choice if every other avenue is burnt. It's clear they want reliability and Commitment, especially the position the team is in...And Laguta doesnt bring either of those, thats not just to Ipswich, i would say that about any team in the Premier Division, he would be a last ditch option for all 7 Teams. -

All i know is they are working tirelessly to get the right kind of rider into our team that fits the criteria of Team Spirit that this Witches septet have built up through the early stages of this season. And on Monday evening at Birmingham, at the end of the meeting....Vaculik and Dudek were definetly not part of any discussions with Chris and Ritchie, and from what was said, i doubt that has changed in any way. They had been turned down by 1 GP rider, but they expected that anyway, and i would go as far as saying these 2 are seriously trying thier hardest to bring a rider in....For in their words an Irreplaceable rider in Jason Doyle. It seems very difficult to get the right rider in, but im nobody, just a fan who watches Home and Away most of the season, and i know they are frustrated in their efforts to gain a new Heat Leader. But those 2 named above, and Laguta were not part of any ongoing discussions as of Monday about 10pm. I would just add, i wouldnt rule out Laguta, nothing was said, but i just wouldnt rule him out. And for what its worth...And this was not part of anything discussed, just my opinion, i wouldnt be shocked if they made 2 Changes and not just bring in a Replacement for Jason, but thats not from a reliable source, thats from me who just has a hunch. -

It's just not those 3, and it couldn't of come from a more reliable source, the only one that could change is Laguta, but its definitely not the other 2. -

As we sit this morning I can honestly say it won't be Laguta, whether he wants to ride here or not, as its not Dudek or Vaculik.
