  1. Aye apologies to the poster, i read the post wrong as in if our #1 had been riding.
  2. Lifelong fan Arson fire said in reply ‘ i don't go anymore Rob, but when i did ( home and away) i spent £50/60/70 per week in/at Newcastle speedway( more if i took the kids), as i had a good night out and was entertained. To expect me to pay top dollar in todays climate, to watch the worst teams assembled for decades at Brough is poor and speculative on your behalf. Yes you put your own money in, and yes you have been shafted along the way ( thats your business) but ffs show some ambition and some team building clout to at least be competitive. Myself and many others i know would jump at the chance to put their minimum £1,200 per year back into the club and you. Give people some incentive to attend or return.. please!! Newcastle speedway has turned into a pitiful laughing stock yet again and you are responsible, only you can put it right!! Tell me I'm wrong”.
  3. Agree with this. Chatting to Rob Lyon several years ago about the structure of British speedway being ar5e over t!t, he was concerned then but they wouldn't listen. Either use and accommodate them going forward as a rule, or dont…but stop mucking them about.
  4. Do you not think for one minute these youngsters will be replaced by teams once more experienced riders drop averages or the team does on the whole?? The rising star status meant they were guaranteed to have a spot, thus only helping them develop etc. My gripe is, that every so often British speedway invent a place for rising stars to hold the sport up, then it is dropped the season after… why implement it (2 or 3 times now) and drop it the next year. Its all about costs and money!! Not the development of young riders. If you are going to have team places for rising stars in the first place, why then change it 6 months later?
  5. Of course i blame British speedway, because they removed the stipulation to have them.. had they not, Newcastle would have had too. my post was more about how young kids are used every other year by the collective promoters/rules to cut costs and then left to hope they get a spot. Either they use them or not, for the right reasons…but stop pi55ing them about and making them the fall guys to prop the sport up when it suits.
  6. So British speedway has shafted the young kids yet again, bring the rising star idea in for a season and disguise it as aiding their progression and give opportunity, but in reality its to cut costs and aid with rider availability…. Then drop them/it again the next season. They couldn't run a bath!! It stinks to the high heavens. For Decades these kids ( apart from a select few)have been used and abused by the very folk who are supposed to be running the sport. Disgraceful imo.
  7. Working himself… like he does (allegedly) … received the Walker tea cake thanks for coming. Bell-end
  8. Young lads being used and abused yet again to bring costs down, hidden under the cover of we care about young British speedway riders!! But..Josh Bates a rising star? Do me a favour, Hes been around for years. Theres hope for Wilko and Geoff Pusey yet!!
  9. Seen him fly round a few times, but fly off alot. He's had some serious blows man!!
  10. Ahh Royno man just call it a day, its going to be one big bang too many one of these days. Working with Brain injury i really worry about the ‘next time’.
  11. You could run a river cruise mate, sort it all out put all the hard work in and make a good few quid... just hope no-one lets you down on a whim after ordering loads of tickets and you no option but to cancel it.
