As were a lot of us at Leicester, but the voices of the in-crowd were saying what Mr Hemsley wanted to hear. The EL was only ever going to bring difficulties upon Leicester, which, added to the poor racing made it unworthwhile for some fans to continue.
-
That's shorter than a non-televised meeting at BP.
-
Using Google Earth, I reckon Lakeside, Wolverhampton, Belle Vue and Edinburgh are all narrower. Prior to the current changes at BP, Newcastle was slightly wider, and was about 5m shorter between the apexes of the corners. These changes at BP would appear to make the dimensions of the centre almost the same as Newcastle, although Newcastle's track is narrower.
-
Fair enough, thanks. Perhaps the track can be put to more use. Stock cars and bangers, perhaps?
-
Google Earth suggests differently, but you know best. How much grassy space outside of the perimeter would there be, to ensure the players have some run-off area along the sides, and for the referee's assistants to run the line safely?
-
It is, but not continuously for 90m end to end. To accommodate a pitch of 90m length, it would have to be only about 43m wide.
-
Hence all the clubs clamouring for his services.
-
Having to announce about flying dirt and making safety glasses available is hardly "making it difficult" or "silly". Quite a few fans took their own safety glasses when I last went regularly to BP. Protecting your eyesight isn't silly. Are the council making it difficult because all of the conditions of the planning permission haven't been met?
-
The promotion "team" should be trying to understand why so many Lions fans who still care deeply about the good name of the club and are proud of its history now feel so alienated from it, and what it can do to win back their attendance.
-
They did have someone dressed as a lion at London Road station, after the 2015 season had ended and five months before next season starts.

I understand Redcar and Leicester are leased from their respective local authorities.

Coincidence. He's always innocent and always misunderstood. -
Why, other than because of who said it, do you think it's rubbish?

Dive Bomber, as some Wolves fans called him (amongst many other things) on one such occasion. -

I'm glad they don't have to commentate on Peter Piper picking a peck of pickled pepper. Could get messy. -
Indeed. We need to find a set of riders who want to ride for us all season, not whose hearts and minds are elsewhere. If we can afford them of course.
-
That's probably the most he's ever mentioned Leicester in any interview he's given to the SS.
-
What makes you so sure?
-
How worthwhile is it for the regular meetings? Incidentally, it was interesting that Hemsley said anyone who wants to alter the track could buy it from him for what it cost to build, not what it is worth now.
-
Hemsley's intransigence is the problem. Riders, seasoned fans and experienced observers all say the track needs major surgery, but Hemsley is blinkered. Incidentally, in the subject of riders and contracts, does anyone know if Leicester have paid Swindon for Jason Doyle, either on loan or on full transfer?

If it's true, then it isn't a factoid. This is the definition of factoid: An item of unreliable information that is reported and repeated so often that it becomes accepted as fact. -

Not as good as he seems to think he is, and only scores well when he gets away with rolling at the gate. -

Pedersen wasn't ahead, he was alongside if he was able to touch Hancock's front wheel. It's a speedway myth that the rider who is leading can do whatever he likes.
