  1. I wouldn't call it a huge gamble, just a weak signing (sorry Joe)
  2. You've confused me, do you mean Champ spot? If Dan T wanted to race for Leicester, I would have had him in a heartbeat, maybe he wanted to be loyal to Ipswich after Leicester dropped him?
  3. Kerr has a higher Prem & Champ average than MPT, who is surely Lynn's 6th best rider?
  4. That makes zero sense to me, they could very easily race either one of the teams seeded to the semi finals. However I have no issue whatsoever with them sitting out the KOC as they are competing in 3 leagues.
  5. Why are the Pawlicki's being called has beens? Maybe they are not at their peak (former GP riders) but they're still Extraliga riders & you don't get to race in that league without a hell of a lot of talent.
  6. Hope not. Birmingham could really do with a rider who is willing to turn up at every match. That being said, maybe it's cheaper to use Laguta, use him at home to get a big crowd, then he can sit out away matches with Brummies using a cheaper guest?
  7. Janowski must have a re-assesed average (don't know why) but these things are kept secret from fans (don't know why)
  8. Looks a good team to me, can't agree with the very odd poster who thinks it looks poor. Great number one, solid throughout & possibly the best reserve in the league. Bringing riders back to the UK, using 4 Brits, what's not to like? Ok one thing, that there is only ONE Spire / Cheetah doubling up is odd to me.
  9. That's not really the case, Lambert could have replaced any of the Lynn team. It's just that they wanted to have a 5 point reserve, Lambert isn't strong enough to make the team. Had they run with a 4.00 reserve (just under the limit) then yes, I'd agree he was "too good" last year.
  10. Don't be daft, that "5 year plan" only lasted one year in the Championship. Credit to the Prem for keeping it.
  11. You don't have to include an RS at reserve, but Harrison would be a decent signing at number 7 (for Scunthorpe, Redcar or Workington).
  12. I don't think Lundgren would reach a 9.3 average, but it would certainly be better to sign him than go with a 7 point number one.
  13. Sounds like the rules regarding eligibility have changed, but nothing has been announced officially (no surprise there). Guess 4.01 must be the cut-off if Flint (4.00) can be a RS but Kemp (4.04) can't.
  14. Looks a good team to me, Lewis Kerr should be a strong reserve.
  15. What if Oxford went for Dillon Ruml instead of Heeps. Heeps was only preferred to Ruml because of the limit last year, so does it count as loyalty, giving Ruml another go? Obviously I don't know if they asked, or if he wants to come back to the UK.
  16. Think they have made a howler there, there's gotta be a stronger option than Heeps with a point to spare, so couldn't believe they'd stick with him. Reminds me of Lynn & Ipswich, these teams have good looking squads, but could've been even stronger if using up the available points.
  17. If Jenkins is no longer eligible to be a rising star, then he'd be due a 25% reduction and signs on a 3.16 average. That would mean a change to the RS eligibility, but I haven't seen anything announced about that?
  18. Don't think clubs or riders can afford to hold grudges, not enough riders / teams to go around for either to be
  19. Decent looking team, should do better than last year (won't be hard) certainly got a good number one & a decent reserve (plus a good RS). Can't help but think they could've been even better with a stronger rider in place of MPT. Yes I've read comments about riders agreeing, then changing their minds, but without reading anything official, can only comment on the signed riders.
  20. Can't see Iversen adding to his average. In a stronger league, he will have done well if he keeps his average imo. Still a decent second string on his current average though. Similar thoughts with Tarasenko, looks like there will be plenty of strong top 2s so Vadim will struggle to up his average imo.
  21. Not quite, you don't need all 7 riders to improve to win a match. So having a 6 point rider not improve, is still better than a 5 point MPT not improving or even putting half a point on his average.
  22. Seen a lot of negativity towards Danyon Hume on the Ipswich & Redcar pages. Now I've not seen much of his races so cant comment on the number of falls he's had, but looking simply at the stats. Hume went from 4.09 to 3.87, but as he was stepping out of the RS position, that seems a decent season to me. Then look at the Prem aves of Rowe (3.76), Dan T (3.70), Gilkes (3.67) & Bailey (3.57). Now Hume has a lower Champ average than all these riders, so to have a higher (non-RS) ave than all these "rising stars" seems quite an achievement to me? He also has a lower Champ average than the top "rising stars" Jenkins (4.21), Kemp (4.04) & Flint (4.00) but is not far below them in the Prem. Think (some) people have been too harsh on him imo
  23. As a RS Flint's average doesn't matter. But finished on 4.00 last season.
