Cook as Poole's 4th "heat leader" has an average of 6.22. other teams 3rd heat leaders are Etheridge (5.91), Thompson (6.48), Flint (6.56), Jenkins (5.98), Newman (5.65), Jorgensen (6.39). So Cook is not far behind the best 3rd heat leaders in the league & stronger than the weakest. In a 38 point league, I'd say Poole certainly have "4 heat leaders"
-
He had dropped about a point off that average, but when Newcastle's fixtures were removed from the rolling averages (unnecessarily imo) the likes of him & Clegg were left with higher averages than their ability.
-
I'd put him at reserve in that team, put the weakest 3.00 rider at 2. Sounds harsh, but helps them win.
-
Terrible season last year, so naturally a very potent reserve if he can rediscover some of his previous form.
-
Is he the one who won a race in the world cup? Looked very stylish.
-
That's the biggest exaggeration ever, they'd be like 18 points above the limit in the Champ & wouldn't lose a match all season. I agree their top riders aren't as strong as Sheffield & Ipswich's especially, but they could have the strongest reserve pairing in the league.
-
I'm confused by that comment too, don't see how Oxford are "horrific" looking strong to me!
-
If the Pawlicki's are the last two signings, I don't think the team looks that bad. Probably will finish bottom, but I think they'd still be competitive.

Premiership 2025 Confirmed Signings

Gotta be the same average as Wojdylo surely? -
When the first team is completed it's impossible to compare to anything but last year's teams (Redcar looked weaker) but as more clubs near completion, Redcar look stronger, definite play-off contenders imo

Is it really a french revolution when one french rider is coming lol!
-
So this team then? Workington Craig Cook 8.52 Claus Vissing 6.24 Dimitri Berge 6.21 David Bellego 6.00 Dan Gilkes 4.84 Steven Goret 4.00 Sam McGurk 2.00 Total 37.81

Nathan Ablitt recently said in the Speedway Star that Armadale was jos favourite track, if he's not back at Scunthorpe could he be a possible number 6? Connor Coles would still be my first choice.
-
Is that a plus? While Max is promising, it's probably gonna be a season too early for him to step up & I think he'll have the lowest NL ave of any 2.00 riders stepping up this year. So Monarchs could once again have the weakest rider in the league riding for them. Is it worth having a "fresh face" if they're out of their depth. For Max & Edinburgh's sake I hope the step up isn't too much for him.
-
I have no doubt Monarchs top 2 would be one of the weaker combinations if it is Sedgmen / Riss. BUT in "my team" Monarchs could have a reserve stronger than 4 of Glasgow's riders, 3 or 4 of Oxford's riders & 3 of Poole's riders for example.

Not sure why many feel Kye had such a disappointing season last year, he went from 6.60 to 6.48, so hardly a disaster. Riders all wait to improve but not everyone will do it every season. Kye has a higher average than Zach Cook, but I've not read a single comment from Poole fans saying "he needs to step up this year". Perhaps Kye's problem was he was too impressive in his first couple of years, has he been a 4.00 then a 5.00 like Zach he'd have got more credit last year? Josh Pickering actually lost more off his average than Kye (8.92-8.63) but I don't read many people subjecting Picko to the same "he should do better" comments like Kye gets?
-
Totally agree with that, but just going by rumors of him racing at Berwick. In a weaker league think Thomas would put lots on his average (assuming he's recovered from his injuries) meaning Lasse could end up at reserve.
-
If that's true, how about? Would have the best reserve in the league imo Edinburgh Justin Sedgmen 7.69 Erik Riss 7.35 Kye Thompson 6.48 Paco Castagna 5.30 Lasse Fredriksen 4.57 Jack Thomas 4.51 Max James 2.00 Total 37.90

@Pauldoveyspeedway if you (not just you, many are not rating Przemek) are saying racing in Poland is different to racing in GB (which it clearly is) you could use that as a reason to SUGGEST Przemysław Pawlicki won't be as good as Musielak over here, or that he won't be a guaranteed "number one" but that doesn't mean he WON'T / CAN'T be better than Musielak! For example Sayfutdinov is better than Doyle in GB & Poland, Doyle is better than Holder in GB but not the GPs. Bewley is better than Fricke in the GPs So Pawlicki could be better than Musielak over here, but could also not be!

Everyone is raving about Sheffield (weak reserves) but saying Plymouth look terrible (strong reserves). A strong heat leader & a weak reserve still gets a 3-3 against second strings & strong reserves. With less heat leaders available this year, all teams will want to have two, points limit stops you having 3 (except Poole who could have 4). Then improving riders at the bottom end could prove the difference.
-
Like the look of this potential team Workington Craig Cook 8.52 Michael P Toft 7.01 Claus Vissing 6.24 Anders Rowe 5.80 Dan Gilkes 4.84 Adam Roynon 3.50 Sam McGurk 2.00 Total 37.91

I'd always announce from the top down, whet the appetite of the supporters (& help sell season tickets).
-
In hindsight it's so obvious what went wrong at Rye House. It's such a shame the promoters didn't realise too. Obviously they would've been better staying in the Champ on Saturdays than going Prem on Thursdays, don't want the same to happen to Glasgow.
-
Totally agree with that, but think the difference between Poole's and other reserves won't be as big as some are suggesting.
