Personally I don't think Ellis has a "point to prove" to Sheffield. He knows he was poor last year & wasn't unlucky to be dropped. I guess his pride will want to show he can race round Owlerton, as well as wanting to win for Ipswich, but I don't imagine there'd be an "anti-Sheffield" part of his motivation.

Why would he be unhappy, the article was just Dan Ford saying he wasn't concerned with Zach's (lack of) form? Depends on the reason, if it was a bereavement for example - no ban. If the reason isn't announced, people will speculate. Mind you if a non-speedway injury / illness / missing a flight gets a 7 day ban, it would be odd that missing for a "personal reason" doesn't?
