  1. I'm the context of the title chase, this meeting means nothing, both teams 99.99% in the play-offs. Which is why I dislike them, yes they make the end of the season exciting, but make 85% off the season less important. That being said I know Sheffield don't want to lose at home, I'm delighted they did though.
  2. Etheridge & Vissing in place of Howarth & Gilkes (move Edwards to RS)?
  3. Don't think he'd do any better, maybe find a 3.00 rider for number 6 & move Edwards to RS (if allowed)
  4. Personally I don't think Ellis has a "point to prove" to Sheffield. He knows he was poor last year & wasn't unlucky to be dropped. I guess his pride will want to show he can race round Owlerton, as well as wanting to win for Ipswich, but I don't imagine there'd be an "anti-Sheffield" part of his motivation.
  5. Sheffield 44-46 Ipswich Think Douglas will be an awesome guest.
  6. Belle Vue 46-44 Oxford Interesting match Oxford have rider who should go well round the NSS, while Belle Vue are very strong at home.
  7. I see Paco Castagna is guesting. Is he really better than r/r considering how well Barker goes at home, Dan T on great form, Newman who scored a bundle last time & Bowtell? If Covatti's facility has ended, that explains it.
  8. I think 99% of call offs have been for poor weather forecasts, Lynn called off a match with a good weather forecast, there is a difference.
  9. I guess you learn about people's character when things go wrong / they are losing, rather when they are winning. Glasgow are used to always being near the top, so perhaps they've forgotten how to take losing with dignity?
  10. Winning the British Final (or 2nd to Bewley) and getting to the final at Cardiff would make the selectors take notice. He's really impressed me this year for Poole & Birmingham. But SEC should be his next target before GPs imo.
  11. You can't really goto a match & "aim for a draw" so yeah, they'll be after a victory.
  12. They were a strong team, but not Championship material till they signed Tarasenko on a 5.00 imo. If they can find another heat leader with a second string average, could be contenders again. If not mid-table side.
  13. Not really, wether the "stupid heat" rule existed it not, Glasgow can draw at Edinburgh & go through.
  14. I'm sure the Berwick promotion & fans would be delighted with Lawson. They're not gonna spite themselves by not picking such an in form rider just because he beat them last week
  15. Brennan is a long way from GP standard imo. Plus there plenty of competition with Britain having a strong top 2 or 3. Didn't make it through the first qualifier, so don't see him getting a wild card.
  16. Personally think there's no need for the "stupid heat" to decide draws in any competition. But see no reason why the BSN groups would need a different scoring system to the league.
  17. If Glasgow are looking to strengthen their team, do they give up on Complin returning, keep Smith & use the spare points to replace Starke? Glasgow Chris Harris 9.29 Steve Worrall 8.09 Leon Flint 6.60 Zaine Kennedy 4.27 James Pearson 4.20 Ace Pijper 3.03 Jack Smith 3.00 Total 38.48
  18. Why would he be unhappy, the article was just Dan Ford saying he wasn't concerned with Zach's (lack of) form? Surely any other response would be worse, if he said he's happy & he expects Zach to score 3 or 4 points each week - that would be worse! Or saying he's very concerned & doesn't think Zach will improve - that would be worse!
  19. How can the transponders be wrong? Also if they are often wrong, why are they being used?
  20. Depends on the reason, if it was a bereavement for example - no ban. If the reason isn't announced, people will speculate. Mind you if a non-speedway injury / illness / missing a flight gets a 7 day ban, it would be odd that missing for a "personal reason" doesn't?
  21. Poole certainly can carry one or two riders, already in the next round of the KOC, great chance of making the semis of the BSN, won their first away league match. Don't know where the concern is coming from tbh. You don't need to win every match to be Champions.
  22. They are above the points limit, so nothing they can do. Don't need an out & out number one if all riders up their averages. Obviously it would help if Howarth got his average over 8.
