  1. This decision really is indefensible, even if Lynn have found a forecast that doesn't look good (BBC) the fact that another (Met Office) shows a lovely day, means one of the forecasts has to be wrong. So with that level of doubt, they can't just choose to follow the forecast of their choice. The only option is to race the meeting - unless a thunderstorm comes first!
  2. Forecast looks perfectly fine, I'm surprised SCB / Phil Morris allowing this to happen. As Lynn appeared to have good guests lined up, it's confusing, if the weather isn't the reason for the postponement, what is?
  3. Poole 99% certanties to go through for me. Only question is will they win both legs?
  4. Going back to 2006, when the graded reserves were supposed to stay there all season, Steve Boxall & Jon Armstrong got moved into the top 5. I guess it seems British Promoters are mostly concerned with making sure one team doesn't get an advantage.
  5. To win Lynn need their reserves to heavily outscore Sheffield's, I thought that might have been possible in the reverse meeting but Gilkes had his best match of the season, more of the same & it's a big Sheffield win.
  6. Well done Plymouth, hopefully shut up a few of the haters. For the record, I don't think Plymouth are strong & predicted them for the wooden spoon, but they are not as bad as some made out.
  7. Just seen the clip of the crash between King & McGurk. 1) how on earth can the referee award that race when Batchelor & Knudsen were virtually level 2) why would you give the benefit of the doubt to the offending team (that Batchelor would have held on to win) 3) if it was re-run, Redcar could've used IRR in the re-run & heat 13. So the innocent party (Redcar) were worse off for the rest of the match The only benefit of the race being awarded is King being paid for second place.
  8. I would say it depends on the rider, for example Klindt has previously averaged over 6.5 in the Prem, so to drop him may have been too soon as he could replicate that form. Similar thoughts about Lampart at Birmingham, has been a good rider abroad so there's potential there. Liebman doesn't have that same pedigree, it's not like she had the scores Vuolas had in the U24 Extraliga for example. So if he had started slowly, I would be more likely to give him longer to find his feet. I don't really see Workington making a change tbh, they showed that last year allowing Kelsey Dugard to go, but keeping Harry McGurk when he dropped almost 4 points off his average. Promotion seems to be more loyal than others, which is a good thing, to an extent.
  9. I'd have to disagree with that point, clubs don't sign Speedway riders just because they try. If Workington thinks she'll improve & hit her 4.00 average - then that's the reason not to drop her.
  10. That's a good point, there's no rush to make a change, as she can be replaced anytime by a fellow 4.00 rider. As long as Workington can stay in contention for a top 4 spot that is.
  11. The interest must be very low, but you're welcome to start them yourself. That what I did for most of the 2024 threads.
  12. Their top 5 is really good, it's just the reserves who aren't scoring. There won't be a 2.00 rider able to score more than McGurk, so Liebman is the obvious rider to go if they're chasing the league title.
  13. Well that's his fault for his attitude towards British Speedway last season.
  14. I think the rule is there for 2 reasons, 1) to help a riders development, if they are scoring double figures from the RS position, time for them to test themselves against tougher opposition in the top 5. 2) unlike Poland (who allow juniors to remain at reserve all year regardless of ability) I get the impression British promoters don't like the idea of the opposition having RS reserves stronger than team men, so have these rules to move them into the top 5.
  15. Can see it taking a while, Berwick have good second strings, plus carrying last year's heats means it will take Borke longer to move out if the reserve berth. I could be wrong but I think he'll struggle if he moves into the top 5.
  16. Wasn't aware of that. As Redcar are out of the BSN series, I probably would have used r/r to give their own riders more track time.
  17. Already running r/r for Knudsen. short notice but could've used r/r for Wright and a guest for Knudsen? Kemp, Hume, Pearson, Castagna, Heeps all fit, of course some may not have been available. Irrelevant now I've heard Knudsen is riding.
  18. Borke did his job as a reserve, no question about that. You say "Ethridge lost to riders he was expected to beat" do you really think Etheridge was expected to beat Harris, Worrall or Vissing? I can't imagine anyone expecting that.
  19. Wasn't at home match so can't comment on how good the riders looked, but Etheridge only lost to Glasgow's top 3, while Borke didn't beat any of Glasgow's top 3. Also Borke dropped points to Pearson & Starke, Etheridge didn't. So could any more be expected of Etheridge & did Borke only score well because he met weaker opposition?
  20. Really? I think Etheridge did everything you can expect from a sub 6.00 rider away from home. 4) Finished behind Worrall but ahead of Pijper 6) Finished behind Harris but ahead of Pearson 9) Finished behind Vissing but ahead of Starke 13) Finished behind Harris and Worrall
  21. Without knowing the goings on behind the scenes, all we can discuss is the riders scoring / ability / reliability / potential etc. There may be a good reason he wasn't picked, but unless that's announced, all I can do is say Glasgow got it wrong (with a smile on my face)
  22. There's been so many rain-offs plenty of riders could still be rusty, so shouldn't hinder him tbh. Smith has constantly said in interviews about his ability to win heats in both the Prem & Champ. This is his chance to show it.
  23. Nothing against Flint, but I'd love Vissing to outscore him, just so I can say I was right lol!
  24. Cami's logic may with for 5 of the Brits but not for all of them when you consider Flint averaged 6.42 last year but signed on 6.40, while Vissing averaged 7.07 & would've been available on 6.24. Like pretty much everyone on here, don't understand their decision & would love Claus fly round Ashfield for Workington.
  25. But that's no hindrance as long as they can get a strong guest (Vissing). If Vissing was missing, then Vissing couldn't guest lol?
