Oxford Vs Glasgow KO cup 010524
szkocjasid replied to Jaizer's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Glasgow massive favourites to go through imo. Think Oxford will win, but can't see them getting 51/52 points. -

I've read (not anywhere officially) that Ace won't be fit for the Oxford away match but will return Friday. This confuses me, if you have an injured wrist, how can you say on a Monday "I won't be fit for Wednesday, but I will be for Friday"? I'd assume a rider would say "I won't be fit for Wednesday, that's too soon, but I'll see how the wrist feels on Thursday & make a decision for Friday then"? -

A thought provoking idea, then put r/r at 5, use Doyle in heat 13 so Doyle & Sayfutdinov get 5 races together? But I wouldn't want to use Doyle in heat 8, as any Witch should have the beating of Joe T. -
Not a chance he'll go back to number 1.

Put Dan T at 2 with r/r at 4, then you could add Doyle to heat 14! -
With Milik at reserve, on his former track I believe, Birmingham could win this.

I don't understand the point you are making? I said I think it's a waste of a rider of Jason Doyle's calibre to meet a reserve twice (as I think he has the beating of all the Leicester riders) but you replied with you think the Ipswich reserves can beat the Leicester reserves? Wether I agree with that or not, not sure how it effects Doyle not riding at 5? I will say, if Ipswich expect to lose against Leicester & the plan is damage limitation to get the bonus point, then I can agree with Ellis at 5. -
Lampart's new average is just above Milik's new average, so Milik at reserve till June. Should score well from there.
-
Who's gonna go at number 5 now? No obvious "second heat leader". I might've put Lampart there, to leave Worrall, Brennan & Z.Cook where they will score points? Mind you Lampart will be replacing Milik at 6 very soon anyway.

King's Lynn can't use a lack of match practice as an excuse after they called off the previous meeting for a wonderful weather forecast. If they are rusty around their home track, only have Buster to blame.

He's probably serving a ban for withholding his services -

Could've done that by partnering Dan with Emil? Doyle normally meets a reserve once a match, this time he's meeting a reserve twice, seems a waste if a superstar rider to me -

But it's not just Doyle & Emil's points that count. For arguments sake Doyle & Sayfutdinov get a 5-1 in heat 13, Ellis finishes second in heat 12 (losing a 2-4) Ipswich have gained 2 points. If Doyle wins heat 12 (3-3) but Ellis is last in heat 13 (3-3) Ipswich don't gain those 2 points. -

I'd agree I'm sure they expected more of Rew. Like you say scoring enough to keep Jenkins & Dan T at reserve. Starting a point below the limit, they could've gone with Riss or Cook instead, but that's easy to say with hindsight. -

Not sure I understand the logic of moving Ellis to 5? Riding with the reserves looks a weak pairing. -
Thinking outside the box now Milik has a new average! Oxford Sam Masters 9.05 Scott Nicholls 8.54 Erik Riss 7.68 Vaclav Milik 6.50 Jody Scott 2.00 Ashton Boughen 2.00 Luke Killeen 2.00 Total 37.77
-
If I was Oxford, I'd 100% sign Riss in May (before Killeen & Boughen get new averages). So it comes down to, which pair do you want with him: Heeps & Atkins Jenkins & Jack Smith Jenkins & Jody Scott Jenkins & Ryan Kinsley
-
Changes to the Spires team shouldn't really make a difference to the Cheetahs team. Riss can ride for both clubs.

Does that mean someone like Ryan Kinsley who hasn't got a NDL club can't guest for a Champ team? -
Due to the complexities of the averages had Oxford signed Cook in May, he'd join on his converted Champ ave of 5.85 & Riss would've remained at reserve. Which way round would suit Oxford better?
-
He had a very decent season last year, up until the crash that injured a photographer. That could affect any rider, wether the struggle with mental health or not. Some comments on the forum suggests he had a bad season, but really he just had a bad end to the season.
-
I've no idea, I could easily list multiple riders, but I don't know if they want to race in the UK, nor am I 100% sure of the averages, since they changed the rules for assessed averages, which is why I said "if there are riders available"
-
While Cook is a good signing on his rather low average, they had 7.44 available to replace Kerr & could've really strengthened up (if there are riders available).
-
Nah, Buster only cancels meetings when there's a good forecast lol!
