  1. That wouldn't explain why his scores have dropped for Birmingham but not Poole
  2. Probably because they realise having the first leg at home is an advantage lol! I'm joking before anyone gets upset, there's no advantage either way.
  3. I don't understand the thinking behind that? Clubs have to race all the meetings, is there an advantage to doing the league before KOC / BSN? Maybe don't want to reach the cut-off date with matches in hand is the only reason I can think of.
  4. There is no rule that requires teams to use a NL guest. If Vissing was missing for a holiday they'd be allowed a 75% guest, not sure of he'd get a 14/28 day ban though?
  5. Is it worth bringing Zach Cook back? Probably in place of Lampart?
  6. Started the season so well, still scoring the points for Poole, but struggling with Birmingham. He really shouldn't be riding at 5, but Birmingham need another heat leader to move him down to his natural second string position.
  7. Really thought the Brummies were favourites tonight, but 8 points down against Oxford is such a terrible effort.
  8. With clubs having so few matches, it's odd they haven't / can't / won't organise the fixtures better. But that relies on clubs working together, something that seems to be lacking at times.
  9. Looking at the two teams, I think Birmingham should win. That being said Birmingham are very good at being poor. Then there's always a chance Schroeck's tactics could hinder Oxford, but Ermolenko can probably match him in the poor manager stakes. But they both can't lose. Pawlicki at reserve should be top scoring & helping the Brummies to a win.
  10. That being said, I wondered why Lambert’s scores from 2019 haven’t been carried forward as part of a Rolling Average to contribute towards an updated Green Sheet, which seems the most logical approach. I then realised the Regs say only scores from the last two seasons can count towards an Established MA. If that’s the case, why is an average with scores from as long ago as 2019 considered to be an Established MA? There is nothing in the Regulations which states that an average from more than two seasons ago can be used - I guess the argument is that there’s nothing in the Regs which state that old MAs can’t be used? Of course, the Regs also say: "A Premiership Assessed League rider will establish an MA after completing 3 home and 3 away qualifying fixtures." Robert Lambert is shown in the current Green Sheets as having an Assessed MA (there is no disputing that, whatever spin is put on the * next to his name and the Key at the top right), and has not completed 3 home and 3 away qualifying fixtures, so he has not got an Established MA. Please note: as far as I’m concerned, this has nothing to do with the specific rider and/or teams involved - as stated above, it highlights that the SCB Regulations are poorly written and open to interpretation, and also how the BPSL/SCB do not make their decisions transparent to the fans. The Regulations must not be tweaked, because when one area is updated, it can often cause problems elsewhere - as seen in 2022 when Belle Vue were able to use (ironically) Robert Lambert. I think it has been said many times in the past that the Regs are being reviewed - wording regarding averages and guests, in particular, must be rewritten, proofread, wargamed and checked again to iron out all this uncertainty." Hey Ho! Credit for trying to get them to simplify things.
  11. I'm guessing you're not refering to movement at the tapes or unsatisfactory starts, they involve all 4 coming back for the restart?
  12. I honestly think Leicester could be really good if they all ride to their potential but hey never seem to. So certainly rate them above Oxford, unless changes are made.
  13. But still in the fight for the play-offs, not favourites to make it though. Imagine where they could have finished up if they used the spare points!
  14. Don't think it will make much of a difference for Poole, they're favourites to win everything whether that's with Foord, Perry or a 2.00 guest. Good news for Foord though.
  15. I've never understood the "well past his best" argument against signing Starke. Of course he's well past his best, otherwise he'd be on a 7 point average & wouldn't have fitted in the team. Now if you said, couldn't understand it, because no-one saw him improving his average, that would be a fair point. I could argue Chris Harris, Sam Masters & Ben Barker are "well past their best" don't get many complaints about their signings lol!
  16. It would be very harsh on Smith to wait until he's out 2+ points so his average, then drop him! Dropping Starke for a 5 points rider, putting Pearson at reserve, may be the only change they need to make.
  17. Edinburgh now firmly in a wooden spoon battle with Berwick now imo
  18. After today's performance, I still don't see Redcar making the top 4, but they've probably ensured they don't have to worry about the wooden spoon any more. Plus the great performance from their top 2, will give them hope for the KOC.
  19. Then they should have said because of this weeks weather, not the forecast - which looked decent.
  20. 11 hours after the postponement & the match is still advertised on the British Speedway website. If it was called off early to save on travelling / hotel bills etc perhaps they should get on to the BSPL to ensure the website is up to date. Similar thing happened when King's Lynn called off a meeting, left on the website for a long time after. For a "professional" sport, it's not good enough.
  21. Glasgow could easily make the top 4, 2 points behind Workington with a home match in hand, 2 points behind Redcar with 2 home matches in hand. Even have 2 home matches in hand over Oxford (5 points behind).
  22. With the points limit changing each month, I've lost count of what it currently is. Surprised Glasgow are so far below it.
  23. I think Scunny are very safe on the top 4, if Glasgow make it, won't be at their expense. Still expecting a big home win.
  24. The only changes Oxford make are to weaken the team. Can't see Poole doing anything except finding a 2.00 rider, rest are all doing their job. For Glasgow, not easy for to strengthen up with a low points limit, makes it more important to pick the correct team from the start.
  25. How would it be "Workington select" they were only missing one rider right?
