No one is denying that, that's the reason he could sign for Oxford at reserve. If he had got back to his best - then he wouldn't be an option. Don't think they can fit in any new foreigners (minimum 4.00 average). So it's a choice of Roynon, Starke & Pijper. As Starke has scored more than Pijper on a tougher position, he'd be my choice.

The reason why he's not at reserve is largely irrelevant. At reserve you'd expect him to score more. Besides 2 bad rides & 2 good rides is better than 4 bad rides lol!

Speedway of Nations 2024
szkocjasid replied to a4poster's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
He doesn't really need to save himself for the GPs, could miss a round & still win the title. Anyway i'm sure he'll be in the SON final. -
Not a bad idea, in fact the more I think of it, well worth making that change. Starke has been in Glasgow's top 5 all year, so riding at reserve could put a point on his average simply by getting to race in heat 2.

King’s Lynn 2024 serious team predictions
szkocjasid replied to SamKM91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Why do I read so many comments saying "if the facility for Musielak isn't extended"? When he was first banned for 28 days for "withholding his services" it was stated that the facility would not be extended & he'd have to return or be replaced! That sounds pretty clear cut to me. -
Edinburgh vs Middlesbrough 12/07

Looking at the teams, I fancy Edinburgh to pick up the victory. Feel they should have a strong top 4 at NL level. -

I remember pre-season many of the Edinburgh Academy riders expecting big things of themselves, I'm sure at least 6 of them were going to become heat leaders, but this comment by Kyren Lyden really takes the cake “If you look at our 1-7 then we have riders all the way that can beat anyone in any opposition.” No offence to the likes of Mark Parker, but do I really believe he can beat Sam Hagon & Joe Thompson for example? -
EDINBURGH: Connor Coles, Mason Watson, Sam McGurk, Dayle Wood, Max Perry, Mark Parker, Kyran Lyden. MIDDLESBROUGH: Jake Mulford, Kai Ward, Danny Phillips, Jamie Halder, Matt Marson, Ben Rathbone, William Hocaniuk.

I honestly think the SGP & SON has worse rules than British Speedway. -

Don't makes jokes, wouldn't put it past the organisers to input this rule in the future lol! -

Didn't ride like that for Birmingham! -

Kelvin needs to stop being so obsessed with 5 points winning a heat. Slovenia 7 behind Czechs so naturally 5 points would be a great result for them - clueless commentary! -
I guess some people think of a riders is not doing well, they have to replace them, I'd say they should try to improve on them if they can. That's almost like what Oxford did, replaced Kerr because he wasn't going well, despite the fact they didn't have a stronger replacement limed up.

Good call

IMO the longer it takes to announce the fixtures, the harder it is to convince the fans they are important meetings. If they are treated like low ranking events, why would fans be excited to attend?
-
Neither Starke or Pijper could replace McGurk. Unless it was Jody Scott, I think I'd stick with Sam, don't see Perry scoring much more than him. But Workington could really do with his reserve partner scoring more.

Better off not seeding GB to the final, should mean a bigger crowd for one of the semi finals. -
Also people need to remember Garrad may not score more than Pijper, but he was signed because they expect Ivacic to score more than Starke. Can't make one change without the other due to the points limit. If it was a single change Garrad for Pijper I could understand the outcry
-
Perhaps neither, Theo has been in speedway king enough time know teams make changes. I'm sure he can explain that to his kids.

Pijper for Coles, worth doing?

Starke & Pijper released by Glasgow. Possible replacements for Leibmann?
